Have had the trots throughout this pregnancy. Now 29 weeks and just been to the loo for the 3rd time today, wiped and all fine. Putting kids to bed and I notice my bum is hurting, go upstairs and im bleeding out of my bum hole! Not quite what I had in mind for this evenings entertainment!
So what the hell do I do?

Could it be piles?

Piles? You should be able to get some cream from the pharmacist

Assuming it's very light and pink it sounds like haemorrhoids. If it's deep red and has any sort of 'flow' please call your doctors.

Though it does just sound that with your diarrhoea your poor bum has just been through the works and is a little strained.

Dont panic could be a number of things - it could be piles (they can be internal as well as external) or it could be that as you are going to the loo so often your bowel/tubes has been agrevated - either way phone the out of hours doctor and seek advice and let your m/wife know asap. Neither will cause any problems to the baby but you do not want to be losing blood and reducing your iron count or being uncomfortable.

It's bright red blood. I've noticed odd specks on the tp before now, but just assumed it was soreness from the constant wiping, stuck some bepanthen on (best arse cream ever!) and it's been fine. This is not specks though, I folded some paper and pressed it on my bum and it's a 50p sized piece in seconds. Thankfully has stopped now. I'm wondering if it's a fissure or something, I do have piles (doesn't everyone who is this pregnant have the bloody things?) but they tend to feel bruised and itchy sore and they certainly haven't ever bled before!

Sounds like an anal fissure. I have had one since birth of DD2 3 yrs ago! Hurts/bleeds more sometimes than others. Bad times I get cream from drs.
Try to up water and fruit intake to make stools softer.
I am dreading birth o DD3 in march in case it gets worse again......

Sudocrem is good too if it's piles or a fissure. Worked for me!

I was going to say anal fissure, especially with lots of constipation! I've had a couple of incidences of this and then it settled down. If it carries on, you can buy OTC stuff for it.

It's more than likely piles. I had them when I was preggo and sometimes they bled so much it turned the pan red. The pregnancy hormones increase your blood volume which is why piles are more of a problem when pregnant.
Also I'm a nurse and have dealt with lots of bleeding bum holes Grin and just for the record, piles and fissures always cause bright Red fresh blood. Nothing to worry about unless its profuse or your bum
Gets really sore. You can buy some cream at the chemist which will help. It's brown or black bleeding from the bum you need to be worried about as it signifies blood that has come from higher up in the bowel or gut. Smile
