Anyone else waing up really early?

The eating before bed advice worked really well! I slept from 1.30 to 11, I woke up about 4 times to wee but I went back to sleep right away smile I did feel really sick when I woke up but at least I am rested. I am going to try the same approach tonight and maybe try not drinking close to bed time but I get a little paniky if I don't drink often, maybe I will try little sips.

I've had this too ever since 4 weeks (am now 10w) it's SO annoying.

A few things that have helped me...I do agree that it's all about blood sugar. I now keep a bunch of bananas by my bed and eat one as soon as I wake in the night, it does seem to help. Also they don't repeat on you too badly when you go back to bed.

Then I try and use some simple meditation to get back to sleep, just keeping your focus on breathing will help, it keeps me calm and stops my mind spiralling off into pregnancy panic. You can find meditation techniques on the Internet. Also, it helps not to get frustrated by the waking up and just accept it, though this is easier said than done!

The only nights I have slept through since I got pg are when I've been to see an acupuncturist, can't afford to do it often and it hasn't helped my sickness but it's really helped my sleep.

The price you pay if you do get back to sleep/sleep through might be that you feel really sick when you wake up so make sure you have some super carbs at hand!!!

Good luck with it, I totally empathise, it's so miserable.

I've got insomnia too, waking at 4am for the loo then cannot get back to sleep for hours.

My doc said drink nothing after 7pm & then bladder won't be full at 4am when the kidneys work.

Sounded a really simple fix & it has worked the past few nights. I just need to make sure I get enough water in during the day.

Have been waking between 5-6am for weeks now (14+6) prior to that was awake for two or three hours a night. Woken by need for wee or growling stomach and can never get back to sleep. Zombied by 10am every day!

Anyone got any good tips for getting back to sleep? All my normal over the counter stuff isn't pg safe...

That's so interesting pineapple as I tend to wake up feeling sick, I have had morning sickness (just nausea no puking) the entire way through but I have been really lucky that whe I have eaten I feel fine, so maybe a bedtime snack will give me a more restfull nights sleep. I will try it tonight!

I've had this too. Midwife said I was waking up because of low blood sugar and suggested a carbohydrate snack before bed. I have banana on toast or on rice cakes (banana prevents the leg cramps) and now I'm getting back to sleep without any trouble. Might be worth a try if you can cope with the heartburn

Yep, awake from 1.30 to around 4 every day - was the same when pregnant with DD 2 years back.

This time it's made worse but the fact she wakes for half an hour at 5 most days and is then ready to start the day at 7.30!!

I'm only 14 weeks and since the beginning of last week, I've been waking between 3am and 5am and not going back to sleep (or if I do, it's half an hour before I have to get up any way). It's making me feel like total crap. When will it end?!

Yep. I'm 25+3 with twins and wake up between 5am and 5.30am each morning and have been doing so since about 20 weeks. I used to be able to sleep no matter what! Woke up at 4am yesterday...

I go to bed at 9pm now as it seems easier to adjust that than waking up time!

Yes I've been waking early too. I had it in my head that I'd enjoy 9 months of having as many long lies as possible before baby, but apparently not.

I'm 38 weeks, I have been waking early since the 1st trimester but usually managing to get back to sleep but the last few days I am far too awake to sleep again.

I try telling my body that if I go into labour today I will be angry about my lack of sleep!

(Enchilada I am envious of your yummy breakfast!)

Yep, I'm up by 4.00am every night...at least on the nights I actually get to sleep. angry

At this rate, I'll be getting more sleep after the baby arrives!

But I just had a lovely piece of homemade bread with damson jam and a glass of cold milk, so I'm going to try for one more round of sleep before it gets too late in the day.

Yup, my body clock seems to have adjusted and I now wake around half-five to six every morning. Once I've woken for a wee, my brain just fires up and there's no sleeping. Do you think it's forever or will normal sleep resume for us?

I used to be the same now my dd gets up every am at that time!!! Torture ......!! Nothing I can do

If it helps bad tv at 5.30 may just beat colouring smile

I think my body thinks there is a baby to feed already. It is 5.30 and I am wide awake!

Does anyone else feel like they are having sleepless nights before the baby is even born?

I am keeping myself entertained with bad tv and raspberry leaf tea.
