Things to love about being pregnant

I'm only 8 weeks but having a crappy time with ms (albeit today is lots better). In my slightly more chipper mood I am thinking about all the nice things about being pregnant. Please post any that you enjoy...a nice reminder to us all for tougher days.

  1. Dreaming of Christmas 2013 with my very own family
  2. My massive more pert boobs and cleavage
  3. Cravings for fruit and veggies
  4. Although its early days seeing the odd moment of Dh being excited
  5. Being able to go straight to sleep
  6. Having this secret which no one knows about

Not being on a constant diet and not having to hold my tummy in! Smile

Mine would be (not pregnant now, from memory!):

  1. Enjoying an excuse to eat more (completely ignoring current advice about '1 banana per day extra calories')
  2. Buying a few bits of maternity clothes
  3. Looking forward to the middle stage where you will feel better, look better and have a lovely little bump
  4. Looking forward to the final stage which is exciting
  5. daydreaming about life with new baby

Loving number 2, me and dh were talking about this earlier (I'm 10 weeks), this is my 3rd and is certainly dh's favourite part each time LOL

I love the fact I've stopped worrying about loosing weight now (wanted to loose just under a stone but now it's on hold) and am enjoying eating whatever and will deal with all that later Wink. Also knowing that if I have a craving like in previous pregnancies, I could probably get away with creeping to dh to get him to go out and get what I need! LOL (I remember last time I NEEDED chicken, chips and curry sauce and he ended up having to go to 2 places to get it right for me, bless!)

I like this thread as I'm quite moody about pregnancy lol but I think that's stress and tiredness! Ok so,

  1. not having to watch my weight
  2. being able to get away with naps and snoozes!
  3. having little apps to read everyday
  4. feeling broody for the first time ever!
  5. getting away with being useless at work!

This thread is fab, I am on all sorts of injections and meds so a positive reminder of why is great Grin
For me personally:
-the satisfaction of over coming infertility issues for a second time, feels just as special as the first time
-feeling and seeing huge kicks (almost 34 weeks)

  • knowing we have christmas day to spend as a family of four, and start 2013 as a family of four
  • (selfishly) being the one who can feel baby's every move
  • giving DS a sibling

-buying lots of baby things and writing lots of lists i bloody love lists

Loosing lots of weight! (From 18 2 pre pg to 16 9 currently) which in turn has led to Finally having a consultant who will go back to my GP and support me in getting treatment for insulin resistance post birth!

Feeling my little girl move especially this week as she has kicked it up a gear! I agree, its like a fabulous little secret that only I can feel just about every move she makes. And it's lovely that it's getting quite distracting. Halfway through a conversation and I have to stop and just concentrate on her cause she's wriggling like a good 'un!

Being allowed to be soppy and going 'awww' over all the wonderful baby clothes that I can now buy if I had the money.

Seeing my DH's face when he felt her first proper kick rather than just rolling movements and then when he saw my belly move when she did another one.

You're right! This is such a lovely idea!
I'm so excited about DS getting a little brother or sister!
I'm really happy that after months of trying I've had a bfp and seen heartbeat in early scan!
It's just an amazing thought that this little human is growing inside me!
When this sickness passes- I must believe its when not if!!!- I will be able to enjoy food guilt free!
I seem to be addicted to exclamation marks- apologies Blush

Ahh, there are nice things about it (am also having crappy time, stupid SPD - every step I take is painful!) - so here's my list:

  1. Not having periods. It's brilliant.
  2. Not having to hold my tummy in, yay!
  3. Knowing there's a small person inside me who will come out and be all tiny and snuggly and lovely (and shouty and pooey and sicky and awake and hungry!)
  4. When DH puts his hand on my belly to feel the kicks and looks all awed and pleased.
  5. Going gooey over baby stuff.
  6. Eating cake because the baby needs cake, washed down with pints and pints of milk.

Being able to sit down at work whenever I felt like it!

And I loved having a bath then laying on my bed rubbing bio oil into my big fat belly, while talking to dd and listening to music.
I used to listen to Adeles albums a lot and I swear when u out it in now, she goes really quiet and relaxed and just lays there and listens.

  4. Not having to have a reassuring scan as getting loads of confirming kicks and punches that all is well with baby!!!

No periods for 9 months, and fairly normal ones for a year or so afterwards until the endo comes back.
Not having to hold my stomach in.

For me:
My boyfriend patting my stomach and a happy look on his face when he say's thats not a jelly belly its a baby belly.
Wonderful feeling that in such a short space of time we've created a 3cm baby with all his major organs and now all he needs to do is grow.
Other people being genuinely happy and excited for us - didn't expect that

Things I am enjoying so far (I'm 13+4) and looking forward to are:

  1. My skin is "glowing" - everyone has said I look radiant
  2. I don't feel as self conscious about my tummy, as I know soon it will be a bump
  3. Seeing the baby at the scan is the most amazing feeling in the world
  4. Knowing there is a life inside of me and being excited about meeting it
  5. Thinking of posible names
  6. Extra breaks at work when I'm further on hehe

  1. Being told I'm starting to show. I know a lot of people get Hmm over this but it really made me smile because it was meant in such a nice way and with genuine happiness. Smile
  2. No periods. Aaaah...
  3. Looking at my partner and thinking 'I can't wait until the three of us are a proper wee family'.
  4. My nails look AMAZING!
  5. Feeling tiny wee movements this morning. Just teensy tiny but definitely not a gas feeling (I'm 16+2)
  6. Coming off Weight Watchers
  7. Seeing the baby on the sonographers screen. Literally never gets old.
  8. Thinking of names
  9. The feeling of sinking into bed after a long evening doing housework

10. Thinking about holding my baby for the first time after my only real life goal having been to be a mother. Smile
