At last some good news...

...results from MRI scan show no further abnormalities on brain other than the enlarged ventricles.

While that doesn't mean that the brain will actually be working as it should, it is "encouraging", as the consultant put it to me today.

He's also discussed my case with a genetics team, but they haven't got anything to add at this stage - which I suppose is also good in a way, as it can't be any obvious genetic disorder then.

So I'm feeling a glimmer of hope, albeit a tiny one.

I do feel much more positive now.
Dh advises caution and not too get too carried away now, which is right of course. But still I am pleased. Just hoping that the next scan in 10 days' time will be reasonably encouraging too.

Have been following your story and am pleased there's hope and that you're feeling better. I'm sure dp feels it too really but trying not to get your hopes too high IYSWIM!

Emkana, This is very encouraging. What a difference a week makes. Try to hang onto that for the time being. I wish that consultants wouldn't worry people until they had facts - it could have saved a whole heap of worrying. I wish you all the very best for your scan in a few weeks. I hope you will be able to relax a bit more now.
