Different cravings, different gender?

With DD I just wanted cake. This time I am loving veg and chips. Totally different symptoms too. I wondered if anyone had different experiences with dc2 and had a different sex?
I'm not bothered if it's a boy or girl but the not knowing is killing me!

Dc2, I'm craving all things sweet - and having a girl.

DD1 - 1 day only craving for sugar, but I CRIED at work until they let me go and buy frosties; didn't feel better till I ate them with extra sugar, and then a tablespoon of sugar - how about that for craving!

DD2 - no major craving, but I liked the smell of coffee. I HATE coffee. I had previously taught everyone in my office not to put a cup of coffee remotely near my desk. Doesn't bother me now, although I wouldn't drink it!

DD1 - fruit and veg

DD2 - fruit, veg and cider! Blush I couldn't face alcohol really with DD1, but I guess it's apples or fizziness or something that I'm craving really.

Only food I'd say I craved, rather than just got a fancy into my head, so far is peanut butter. A week of peanut butter with everything. That was last full week of nausea & now I'm mostly fine so I wonder if it's not somehow related.

I'm only 10 weeks though.

I have eaten lots of mash potato - mostly because it stops me feeling sick. Trick I learnt Years ago because I usually get sick on day 1 of period & mash eases the nausea. Dunno why. Potassium perhaps?

DS1 - all day nausea for 12 weeks, MAJOR aversion to broccoli, craved nectarines.

DS2 - no nausea, loss of appetite for whole pregnancy, no food aversions, no cravings.

I am normally a savoury person but I have been stuffing sweet stuff down my neck like there's no tomorrow this pregnancy. To the extent that some days at work I can't concentrate until I buy chocolate and I can only compare this to the desire for cigarettes when I used to smoke.

A lot of people have told me sweet = girl....

With DD I craved Ribena and was drinking it by the gallon, Also craved rum and raisin ice cream really badly. Couldn't have it one day so just stuffed my face with raisins I found in my baking cupboard! Only have one DC so can't compare Smile

Totally different cravings. Savory the first time, sweet the second. Convinced DS2 would be a girl right up until he popped out with a willy.

Same cravings with both pregnancies and both different sexes so for me doesn't seem to make any difference or maybe I just use pregnancy as an excuse to eat sweets greedy cow

Nope. Have 2 girls. With dd1 it was coke and crap food I wanted all the time - she was like a diet dictator!
This time around it was so different I was convinced it would be a boy. No real craving at all but slight inclination for sushi and queen olives - lividly healthy food Grin. Still a girl I could see her girl bum as soon as the sonography swivelled the screen around Grin

Currently craving pickled things and salt and vinegar crisps, but I'm only 18 weeks so I don't know what I'm having yet.

ItsMyLastOne have you tried the alcohol-free kopparberg? It might satisfy your cider cravings.

With DD1 and DD2 I had really bad pica (cravings for chalk, sand, sponges full of bubble bath water etc) and the smell of coffee or garlic would make me very nauseous. Poor DH had to take his cafetiere in the garden.
With this one I felt different from the off- no funny cravings, no aversions. I can eat garlic with no issue at all! Scan allegedly shows a boy but you never know for certain till it's out :)

Ds1 anything savoury
Ds2 tangfastic haribo sweets (literally a bag a day)
Dc3 fruit, in particular melon (girl)
All 3 pregnancies have felt totally different main difference this time is that I have felt rough right the way through, other two were pretty easy. Ah well only 17 weeks to go.

Ds1Bombay mix, mustard, tomatoes.
Ds2 same as Ds1
Ds3 same as Ds1 & 2.......all very predictable......That's boys for you.
Funny though my DD loves mustard now & all 3 boys hate it.

Soft fruit and sweets - DS, not much sickness too so normal diet.
Just nectarines and greek yoghurt this time but not sure what we're having yet. Also really really dislike garlic (used to have it all the time and curry). Have also gone off tea which is mental because I love tea! Really sick this time so I don't care what I eat because anything is at least something!
