Can anyone recommend any relaxation techniques that really work to try and help control it?

A natural remedy is to eat lots of celery. My friend had really high blood pressure and was going to be induced as a result. She ate a full pack of celery that night and it had fallen the next day. Also, you really do need to put your feet up. Not sure if you have other kids, or any support from a partner or family, but you need time to chill and stop rushing around.

Do you like classical music? I started listening to it with my first pregnancy as apparently the baby hears it really well. And it really was relaxing. And the bonus was that once DD was born, she would also relax when I played my CD. I got a compilation box by classic FM for my birthday, called something like relax and unwind. You could maybe see if the library have something like it that you could try out for minimal cost...

Thanks so much! Will definitely try the celery from now on. DH is being very supportive it's just work that is very stressful.

I think classical music over Sky sports will be a good change

classical music worked for me. even if you dont like it at first it soon grows on you. i used to lay on bed with lights low and listen to classic fm for a while every day.
when son was born, it would calm him if he was really upset. it still does now and hes 7mo.
i put it on in his room if hes having trouble settling.

lysettes, I was put on medication for high bloodpressure when I was pregnant and I was taken off it because I got my breadpressure down by, I believe, having regular (1-2 a week) reflexology.

HTH, good luck
