So I've been told I can't eat philadelphia or other types of soft cheese... does this still count if it's in a sauce and therefore cooked?

confuzzled!

Surely Philadelphia has had the living daylights processed out of it? I thought by soft cheese they meant Brie etc?

I certainly never considered Philadelphia to be on the banned list.

Philly and the like is fine. There are actually very few foods which aren't advisable during pregnancy:

I am sure that philadelphia is fine. It's unpasteurised cheeses, and soft cheeses with a rind like brie and camembert that you're advised to avoid. But even then they should be ok if thoroughly cooked.

Philly is pasteurised so fine as far as I'm aware. I ate throughout my pregnancy and have a healthy 7 week old cooing at me right now.

All cheeses are fine cooked as heat kills the harmful bacteria.

Thought so! I've been ignoring some of the rules (eggs!) and I think I'll ignore this one too...
Does this mean I can eat baked camembert?!?!?!

Yep enjoy the camembert; especially with breadcrums and yummy chutney!
