Really sore tummy, worried about going into labour early??

Im 37+4 days and have a c-section booked for 30th March.
Since yesterday Ive been worrying that something is happening, I overdid it a bit with the cleaning so am pretty sure thats all it was but I cant help worrying.

With my DS1 I had no symptoms or warnings for labour and had him fairly quickly before I knew what was happening and although the hospital has agreed to an EMCS if I go into labour early im worried it will happen at night as I have no one but my Mum to drive me and look after my DS1 and she has to take epilepsy tablets at night and wouldnt be able to do any of the things to help.

So basically Im fine if I just stay still but if I move around my stomach feels really tight (but not sure if its actual tightenings or baby pushing out) and ive been getting some period type pains and stitch type pains higher up in my belly. Im not sure whether to get a lift to the hospital (1hr away) to just get them to check or if Im being silly and paranoid??

The only other thing Im wondering is that because my son is engaged back to back that its all limbs at the front of my bump so if he starts flailing his limbs they really push out under my skin and I wonder if this is why its so painful??

Sorry for the long post just after some help really :)

Sounds like you have some of the symptoms of early labour but equally, could be nothing - could you phone the midwife to ask for advice? If you could just go in whenever you'd want to sit it out, but if you want a resolution either way during the daytime so your mum can help then perhaps try calling them. Living 1hr from the hospital must be a pain in the backside!

Thankyou for answering Ecuse.
I know if I ring the midwife she will tell me to go straight in which I dont mind but I feel a bit silly if its nothing. You are right tho, I should do it in the day when I have help rather than worrying all night again.
Yes it is a BIG pain in the backside!! :)

Hi

Just in case this helps? I am 36 tomorrow and I over did things on the weekend carrying etc and I got lots of tightenings over my bump and felt as if I was going into labour early. Like you I was ok as long as I was sitting down but felt in quite alot of pain when I was walking around.

I phoned midiwfe who said she could see me if I wished but to take it easy and if I was in labour it would progress etc. However, I happened to have a maternity belt support which I tried on and I actually found that this gave me the relief I was looking for. The tightenings stopped and I have been fine for several days now. I wear the support belt all the time now even in bed and it has brought be such relief!

Good luck!

Thanks Lilianfox, Im glad your feeling better now :)

I know I was silly to overdo it, but I wanted everything sorted for when Baba comes and I find it difficult to know when to stop.

I spoke to a lovely lady at the hospital who said they had had a lot of women in this week with stomach bugs thinking they may be in labour and my 4yr old had a tummy bug last week so se told me to rest and take some paracetmol and ring back if no better later. Ive done as I was told (for a change lol) and am feeling a bit better so am hoping it is just a touch of an upset tummy.

Normally I wouldnt mind and would just see how things develop but because of the C-section Im worried about anything happening earlier.

Thankyou for your help x
