Not sure if HPT is + or -

I did a test this morning; the vertical line in the window that tells you the test is done is blue, the horizontal line in the result window is there but the vertical line that would appear if it is + is there at the top for a few millimetres but fades out to an almost invisible to the human eye line at the bottom.

Anyone had similar? Thoughts?

TIA :)

I had this with DS2. Did the test at night, I went to bed convinced and DH went to bed saying no way Wink.

I was right, went straight out next day bought a new test and + straight away. He is now 4 nearly 5.

Good luck.

I had a divide sign. I thought it probably meant - dh thought it probably meant +.

Did one that says 'pregnant' 'not pregnant' a few days later. It said 'pregnant'.

I was all Shock DH was all Grin "told you!"

To me yours does sound very ahem... +.... do another one tomorrow and let us know!

If you take the test apart they can be clearer.

To e, it almst sounds as if the 'positive' part of the test (ie, the vertical line in the test window) is so strong it's sapped the dye from the control part of the test in the test window!

But without seeing it, can't be sure of what exactly it looks like.

In any case, I would imagine that if these lines all appeared within the time frame the instructions tell you to read the result by, then it sounds positive to me.

I'd advise another test to clarify, and preferably not a blue dye one as I've known lots of dodgy results with them.

Eeeeek! I will test again! I took the test apart and the faint line is there but now it is 6 hours later so could be an evapouration line maybe?

Well I just did a normal Clearblue, as opposed to the early detection one I did earlier, and I have just got a negative.

The only reason I did a HPT in the first place is because I have had tingly nipples, TMI, for a few days but I really should not be PG as I went on the mini-pill last month.

I think I will wait a few days and test again as I am not sure if/when period will come as periods been all over the place for months and have just started the pill.

Would not be the end of the world if I am PG (I would be over the moon if truth be told) as I have only gone on the pill because of horrendous bleeding.

We shall wait and see, thanks for advice everyone x

The results of a HPT should be disregarded after ten minutes.

I got the result within 10mins but by the time I got the advice to take apart and look at it was 6 hours later.

So, this is probably one of two things:

You're not pregnant and Blue Dye Tests Strike Again. They really are quite notorious for giving wonky results and evaps (even within the time limit)

Or

You may be pregnant and as it was an early result test, it's sensitive enough to pick up the hcg that the second, less sensitive test (particularly as it wasn't your first pee of the day) couldn't.

I guess there could be some other third explanation but it's not coming to mind right now (haven't even drunk my Brew yet!).

Ok, so when did you last have unprotected sex?
