Worried due to no pregnancy symptoms

That's it really! Just over 5 weeks gone. Initially had very very tender and sore nips, with lots of cramping. Since a couple of days ago though... No nausea or vomiting, no sore boobs or cramps. Nothing. Should I be worried? Thanks in advance :-)

My morning sickness and other symptoms didnt kick in till later, 7 to 8 wks pregnant, and some people never get any symptoms. I wouldnt worry too much to be honest.

I'm 6 weeks 4 days and the only symptoms I've got are mildly sore boobs (only if I run down the stairs or prod them!) and I'm more tired in the evenings. I've heard 8 weeks is more the time to expect them.

Ok. That's reassuring! As it's my first I started to panic. Also been reading too many threads. As it IS so early there's always that fear of things not working out. But seriously - thanks for sharing your experience.

Ive had 3 boys and not once in any of my pregnancies did I get any symptoms in the early days, eventually it was extreme tiredness and then symptoms associated with developing baby. Seriously I never even had any sickness at all.

Newgolddream: thanks for that! I definitely feel tired in the evenings, but workload has increased significantly in recent weeks too- so can't attribute it to pregnancy. It's reassuring to know that it's not bad news if there aren't any symptoms. Thanks x

I'd say enjoy it if you have no morning sickness, when, or if, it hits you won't quite know what has hit you.

My symptoms have ranged fromextreme nausea from literally a few days after conception that raed for most of the pregnancy (DD) to absolutely nothing bar slightly sore nipples (DS1) to nausea that came on at about 8 weeks and stuck around until about 14 (DS2) to really quite grim nausea that started around 7 weeks or so and is still with me (I'm 12 1/2 weeks...)

It's very true that every pregnancy is different. It's true that often 'classic' symtoms like nausea do not kick in until about 6-8 weeks but also true it's possible to have a pretty much symptomless pregnancy!

The time to actually worry (as apposed to kinda worry which I suspect you may do whatever we say, whatever you actually know to be true, because that's what us knocked up wimmin do!) is if you have lots of symptoms that suddenly vanish (before around 11-12 weeks when it could be normal to suddenly feel much better)

Still no symptoms. Dr Google says increased chance of birth defects and miscarriage due to no vomiting. Am very very scared now! Wish I had never googled.

no symptoms here either - apart from acute crankiness, but that's quite a hard one to pin on pregnancy. I did have massive cramps, really pretty painful, around time of BFP and now ... nothing. my boobs haven't even grown like they did last time.

stay away from Dr Google! I have squillions of friends who had no morning sickness and have perfect babies ...

I never had morning sickness. My symptoms were mainly extreme exhaustion and cramping early on. I had slight nausea on occasion. It was the absence of AF that led me to test. And I never firmly believed there really WAS a baby in there til I had my scan at 12 weeks.

Dd has just turned 7 and is 2nd in her class

I am 30 weeks pregnant with my second and had v few symptoms either time. Just a bit of a sick feeling a few times in first trimester with first. Pretty much nothing this time round. Don't worry.

Cross fingers you don't get morning sickness at all! I didn't - just the symptoms you describe in the early days.

Thanks porpoiseful, that means so much! I am SO worried though. You girls here are so nice -it's good to have some moral support. People in RL are in sweet oblivion at the moment!

I never had morning sickness with any of my two pregnancies and neither did my mum. Not everyone gets it.

Linnet: thanks for that! I'm getting quite hopeful after so many positive experiences..just read on another thread that you tend to have MS if you're carrying a girl, and no MS with a boy! Any truth in that? Or just regular 50:50 odds?!

Not trying to be bearer of bad news, but better to be honest ~ loss of symptoms can be a sign of a missed miscarriage (happened to my sister :() but there's no point in having an early scan until at least 7-8 weeks at the earliest anyway, as they can't tell you much.

BUT I had awful symptoms including bad MS for about 16 wks with first two pregnancies - with 3rd pregnancy I had some symptoms then they disappeared about 7 weeks. Because of what had happened to my sister, I was convinced it was a MMC too, but my little boy is now six weeks old :) and asleep on me as I type, so it can be good news too. Given that they don't actually know what causes morning sickness and there are great swathes of the population that don't have it, then no I don't think it's owt to do with birth defects and miscarriage.

Sudden loss of symptoms is very different to not having symptoms in the first place. AND it's very early to have symptoms anyway.

No, the boy/girl thing is a load of rubbish, same as all other gender prediction guess nonsense. And if you want an anecdotal sample of one, I had zero morning sickness when pg with dd, absolutely nothing and had a girl. Oh my friend had terrible, hospitalised with it hyperemesis with BOTH pregnancies and had one of each. So there you are, two anecdotes.

It's normal to worry in early pregnancy. You already ARE symptomatic.

The sore initial nips and cramps are implantation btw and it's normal/common for them to fade. Loss of symptoms is more like having morning sickness, terrible fatigue or very sore and heavy breasts one day and then not the next.

Quick update: Saw gp yesterday. She did a preg test at surgery, confirmed pregnancy. Also kindly booked me in for an early scan at EPU to allay these very real fears I have. Will update after scan tomorrow afternoon. Keep those fingers firmly crossed for us please :-) x
