How do you know if the baby has "dropped"?

Lately I have been getting loads of pain in the bottom of my back, right on the bones. Just like I had at the very beginning of my pregnancy. I also have been feeling a lot of pressure on my bladder which sometimes makes it hard to walk. Does this mean the baby has "dropped"? My baby has been quite low down throughout my pregnancy so I don't really see a physical change. Can anyone clear this up for me?

I'm wondering the same thing. Whilst no pain in lower back and bladder issues nothing new, when I walk up stairs or lie on my side in the 'recommended' sleep position with my leg bent, I can feel the little one against my leg(s). This is new in the last couple of days (am now at 34 weeks). I'll be watching this space for answers!

I had the feeling of "something between my legs" and got many comments from people around me that I looked smaller.
and suddenly I was able to breathe!

I was able to put my own socks on after several weeks of getting DH to do it for me. Also getting headbutted in the cervix.

You start to walk as if there is a melon between your legs. Grin

I never felt the melon between my legs thing, but I knew as I could breathe again, it was such a relief :o

Thanks for the info, folks! I've had this headbutting bladder/cervix intermittently at the moment (34+4).

Loving the Etruscan shrew reference, Poledra!
