My life I am sat at work feeling soooooo dizzy and faint then sick dizzy then faint.

Does this pass or should I be going home? Im worse sat up and wondering if bubs is sitting on something it shouldnt be. Keep drinking cold water to keep self cool as getting hot when feel at worst.

I have been off on annual leave over Xmas new years for 2 weeks then I was signed off with my chest infection and dont feel like I can go home. I can work from home but working in an all male environment I am not quite getting the understanding I would hope for and feel a little awkward...

I am still getting morning sickness first thing, Ive eaten and am hydrated.

I am 17W plus 2

Is this normal? [she faints as pressing submit lol!]

sounds like you are poorly and should go home and get checked out if you are faint

Yup - have something else to eat/ drink then go home. Get your iron levels checked too, they can plummit and would make you mighty weak if low.

Ask your MW or GP for the iron check - mine did a full blood count at 18wks anyway but I'm sure policies differ.
Take care of yourself and your bub...sod the boss!

Euuughghhh I will never moan about being pregnant due previous losses but am starting to hate my smug pregnant friends who have had none of this!!

Waiting for boss to come back and then have to work out if I want to drive home. :(

Oh the joys of pregnancy...

The world does seem to be full of people who 'enjoy being pregnant', have a beautiful neat bump and never seem to have a dip in energy! Please be assured there are plenty of us who are the complete opposite...you just dont come across us as much because we are hidden away with our heads down the toilet..in bed unable to get vertical..or in the DAU with yet another 'scare'! We are the hidden majority I expect!

True..

I have had 2 previous losses, early scares with this one and also the worst all day sickness!! Thats turned to purely morning sickness and THE worst fatigue and now the overwhelming need to pass out. I am usually good at being ill and have a high pain threshold but feel like thats gone out of the window being pregnant. Still am overwelmed with excitement about my little miracle and wouldnt change this for the world.

BUT If I could bottle this feeling I dont think I would give it to my worst enemy....but maybe my male colleagues so they got it!!

Have just written email to the powers that be asking for permission to work from home when needed. Also means I can nap afternoon and work into the evening when I seem to have more energy and a functioning brain.

My bosses are ok to be fair but I think the constant out of the office is not good...mind you could be worse I could just go sick and make no attempt to work! No one covers my role when I am away - which they will have to rectify!

Thanks everyone, cant wait to get horizontal with my feet up - by choice too and not because Ive just landed on my butt in front of my nice massive open plan office! Eeek!

I'll also book into my GPs and see about my iron levels, they havent been checked since week 13 so may be lower. xx

Get your blood pressure checked out too, it might be that it's very low. Unfortunately if it is there's not a lot you can do apart from taking it very easy. Hope you feel better soon.

I had low bp during pregnancy - and it was worse when my iron levels was low. I spent 10 days feeling like I was going to pass out until the iron tablets kicked in. I sympathise -it's really rubbish. Tips I got were to keep moving your feet when sitting still to keep the blood flowing, eat a couple of packets of crisps a day as the salt would help raise your blood pressure slightly, and make sure you eat regularly to keep your sugars levels stable.

I hope you feel better soon - and go home!

Thanks all - should you ever be worried when this happens ladies? Does it harm baby?

(Low iron or blood pressure or other!?)

Spoke to midwife and she said to see gp thinks it's unlikely to be iron due to me having high levels before at my 10 weeks bloods....

Gp said all seemed ok but thinks my blood pressure may have been dipping low from my symptoms.

He right pushed my bump about today...it's only small but was very uncomfortable. Picked up heartbeat straight away with bubs....

Work have been great and allowing me to do work from home which will help. Am really overwhelmingly tired most of the time which makes me awful so will do some time from home each week. Phew.

Thanks loads for your responses earlier ladies. Mums net is such a great help!
