Pregnancy

Not as many movements . . . .

I'm just 22 weeks so am aware that the movements aren't going to be as regular as later on but since about 19 weeks I have quite a lot of movement from the mini one (I have an anterior placenta) albeit gentle ones! The past week however they seem to have almost totally stopped. Every so often one appears but then nothing. This is my third so I should be more used to the ups and downs of pregnancy and calm down a bit more but it's playing on my mind . . .

I had this last week at 26 weeks, but don't have an anterior placenta...and went from loads of strong movement to barely there flutters. The advice from my midwife was to get it checked out, so I popped down to the day assesment unit at my hospital where they monitored the baby for half an hour.

All was fine in the end..but if you are worried and have noticed a definite change in movement- I would have it checked out, just to be on the safe side.

Hope all is okay. I am pregnant with my 3rd (24 week) with anterior placenta too. It has been a really hard thing to adjust to as I felt so much movement with previous pregnancies. I really concentrate in the evening if I feel I haven't felt anything all day - funny how it's hard to be laidback about it isn't it?

Do report back how things are.

Thank you ladies. I have a doctors appointment on anyway Monday so I'll mention it then and see what she recommends . . . damn and blast why can't I relax more Confused! Also haven't been feeling great this week, knocked out by a cold, do you think that could have something to do with it?

If you continue to have no movement whatsoever, I wouldn't leave it another 2 days to get it checked out. If you give your community hospital midwife a quick call, she will advise you over the phone.

Sorry, don't mean to panick you...and all is probably fine- but no movement should always be checked out.
