Constant Pain In My Pants!

I'm due to give birth in 4 weeks (Feb 19th) - This is my second baby and this is nothing like my first experience.

Yea, I get the whole 'every pregnancy is different' blah blahh but this constant pain in my pants in something else!

With 4 weeks to go - I'm sure its still very early to be practically bed ridden!
I feel so useless to my 6 year old daughter - she walks faster then me! When I walk her to school I have to ask her to wait for me!
And by the time I make it back home I'm in tears from the pain.

Every move I make - hurts! I'm in pain when I'm standing - and even when sitting/lying.
At night when I toss and turn trying to find that comfortable position to sleep in I feel more pain - its constant and I'm miserable!

Anyone else out there feeling/felt this constant pressure weeks before their due date?

I asked my consultant - he wasn't much help ..

HELP !!!!

Oh poor you! In my last few weeks I had that much pressure it felt like I was walking around with my baby's head permenantly wedged in my birth canal!!

My son is 4 months now & I'm currently trying to deal with the after effects. My cervix has been so sore & swollen that even mini light tampons hurt!

Have you tried swimming or floating in some water? I know its not very helpful but thats what my midwife suggested when I was pregnant. x

I know poor me right?! LOL it's too easy to feel sorry for myself!

At my last check up my consultant said the baby was already head down and 1 part in my birth canal - but I've been in agony for way longer - it's like the baby's going to stick a hand out and wave me hello.

Soaking in a bath does ease the pain, but as soon as I get out it feels worse! So I've been avoiding long soaks.

Congrats on your baby boy - is he your 1st?
I had a c-section my first time round, so I don't even know about aching cervix lol
I will be attempting a natural birth this time round ..
Hmmm - We'll see how that one goes! Hahahah!

Do you think it could be SPD? How long have you had the pain for? www.mumsnet.com/pregnancy/spd

@ PinkTeddy

At the risk of sounding stupid - what is SPD?

Symphsis Pubic Dysfunction or Pelvic Girdle pain (I attached a link above which explains more). Its basically when you're pregnant your hormones cause the pelvic bones to loosen and stretch. In some cases they can stretch too much which is extremely painful and can mean difficulty in walking/sleeping etc.

You're welcome Smile. The pain in my pants title resonated with me as I had it with dd!! It felt like burning.

Ask your midwive for a referral to a physio - don't take no for an answer. The physio should give you a support belt which really helps plus show you how to sit and sleep comfortably. You'll need to take care after the birth and hopefully see the physio until after the baby is born. Good luck!

Just read about wanting a natural birth this time - talk this through with the physio see what he or she thinks. You might find an elective at 37 weeks is the way to go as it was the last few weeks that I was really in agony! But you need to weigh this up with the pain from the c section obviously.
