Very daft first timer Q- washing baby's clothes

Making the most of time off work over Christmas and want to get the baby's room sorted out despite only being 32 weeks.

I can't get hold of my Mum, and wondered whether anyone could help with some daft Qs! Blush

  • do I just wash the clothes on a normal wash (40 degrees, Fairy non-bio?)
  • am I doing this way too early, e.g. Do the clothes need to be freshly washed for the baby or can I wash them now and pack them up somewhere clean?
  • um, presuming tumbling is okay!?

Blush told you they were daft!

Yes to 40 degrees and non-bio, you're not too early, tumbling is fine.

Yes, normal wash, non-bio.

They don't need to be freshly washed. You're washing the factory chemicals out of them, any time is fine.

Tumbling is fine. Unless you've bought frills and lace, of course.

Thank you! And no, no frills and lace. It's a girl, but I'm heeding the advice on sticking with the basics whilst she's tiny!

hehehe i'm 31 + 5 and have some baby clothes going round in the washing machine right now.
I'm dreadful at keeping on top of my own washing so figured starting with baby stuff 2 months before it's born is the only way i might even nearly have it sorted out before it arrives.

I'm 31+6 and we washed ours 2 weeks ago, so def not too early. I wanted them done before Christmas.

I washed them at delicate 40 (as a few items suggested this on the label) in a natural non-bio powder, no conditioner. Fairy is perfectly fine.

Tumbling is fine, usual rules apply.

Have fun, it's so nice to look at them all washed and neatly folded in their draws. I can't help having a wee peek every now and then. Grin

Oh good, I'm glad you asked MrsC I was thinking the same thing this afternoon...at only 32 weeks I wondered if it was too early..!!

Might make a start over the next week or so. Can't wait to see them drying...so cute!!!
