Sex to trigger labour

Hi,

Weird question but is sex only useful to trigger labour if you do it with no condom? I won't go into why but things are just easier for us with a condom but i'm not sure if that will defeat the purpose to trigger labour.. also haven't done it in over a month so a bit scared - not even sure what position at this stage (i'm 40 weeks)

As far as I know it's only useful without a condom because of prostaglandins in the sperm but I'm never sure if these things are made up by men or not.

Sex defiantly works believe me Blush. However it does need to be without a condom its the chemical in the sperm that help. sorry Sad

My MW told me prostaglandins were better taken orally - there's an alternative for you Wink

All that happened to me was to go into false labour for the night which was very annoying, uncomfortable and exhausting. Didn't try that again and ds arrived a week later!

Happygirl1 the uterus is covered in oxytocin receptors which help it contract and endorphins or feel good hormones help labour progress.
I think that any pleasurable activity followed by orgasm is likely to help kick labour off if you are ready. Smile
