11 things to do before the big day

disclaimer I am delighted to be pregnant, and feel very lucky.

But, I'm also a bit bored of it! I've got 11 Fridays left to the due date, and thought I'd give myself a weekly treat/activity to help count down the weeks. Nothing majorly expensive, but just things I won't be able to do when the baby is here (it's the first one).

Ideas please...

Have the longest lie in known to man?

A Reflexology treatment or Massage is my top tip, I did this every week before ds1 appeared after I went on maternity leave and it was worth every penny!

Read a book from start to finish in one sitting.

Go to the cinema and watch a whole film in peace.

I second the long lie in/spend day in bed.

Go out for dinner/coffee with your DP/friends.

Have a massage.

Get loads of tv shows/dvds ready if you intend to breastfeed. You will spend a lot of time on your sofa Grin

And I would get loads of tV/DVDs ready if you don't intend to breastfeed - I wasn't able to, but spent AGES on the sofa cuddling my baby!!!

mooch about doing nothing! go to your favourite bit of your town and window shop, buy a little book/top/make-up/whatever, have a coffee and a cake - All By Yourself.

and, as the others say, sleepsleepsleepsleepsleepsleepsleepsleepsleep

Mothers to be Spa day?

What everyone else has said - sleep all day! Have cake without having to share (I can't eat any treats without DD wanting some), go out for a nice quiet meal with your OH, cinema. Just enjoy having time to yourself!

Definitely go to the cinema or go & see a show/play.

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!

Have a shopping trip to buy yourself something nice for after you have had the baby. (Clothes/make-up/shoes)

Have your hair done! :)

11 Fridays geeky! wow that's soon isn't it? as you know i am in the same situation as you, so really don't know what I'm going to miss, but things that I think I might miss and should be doing now include those already mentioned and:

  • having loud, wild sex (if only I had the libido and DH didn't feel freaked out by seeing my like a mother rather than a hot sexy thing...)

  • spending a whole afternoon in the pub reading the papers (only if they sell nice fruit juices)

  • reading in the bath for a very very long time.

-cuddling with my cats, whom I suspect will hate me once I bring an intruder into their home.

Definitely cinema!

Also be completely spur of the moment.

Go for a day out without planning where to go /eat / stop etc.

I absolutely agree with Knitta about baths! Have looooong luxurious baths as I find that quite difficult nowadays. I can't have a bath without DD coming into the bathroom. If I'm lucky she'll stand and chat for a bit and then leave but most of the time she just strips off and jumps in!!! Shock Angry

Oh and when you go out somewhere take the smallest bag you can find! It won't be long before you've said goodbye to your nice stylish handbag and are lugging around a changing bag full of nappies, clothes, snacks and bottles!
