Hi

I am new to the webiste. I just want a chat as I can't sleep and I'm bored. Really fed up. I am 39 weeks pregnant and I didn't get a good night sleep for ages.

My skin itches badly, I can't get comfortable in bed. I even moved in the spare room so my hubby can sleep as he goes to work in the mornings.

Went to the midwife today, told her that I had the bloody show, but she said not too get my hopes up as this might not mean that my labor will start in the next few hours as I thought.

Anyone else going through the same thing?

Thanks guys

I feel your pain, I'm 40+3 and putting off going to bed as I know I won't be able to get comfy and will spend far too long awake listening to dh snoring.

I think you're kind for moving to another room, I kick dh out when he starts taking up too much room/snoring too loudly!

Really hoping baby comes soon, although no signs yet - not even a show!

Have you any cream to ease your itching?

Hi

Yes I use bio oil and seems to work a bit but not a great deal.

Do you know the sex of your baby? Is this your first baby?

We will have a little girl and her name will be Isla. I can't wait to see her. This is our first baby.

Good luck to you and if you go into labor soon, I'd love to hear how it went as I am petrified of giving birth.Even though in the evenings I'd do anything to go into labor and to get rid of discomfort.

I hope it all goes well for you. xx

Tammy

Hi TammyLucy

I do know how your feeling, your not on your own hun. I'm due on Monday and am soooo ready for B.day! It's my first also and we're expecting a wee boy. We've had quite an emotional last few weeks and very tiring, sadly my husband lost his mum last thursday and we attended her funeral yesterday. She had been battling cancer and had been doing ok but deteriorated very suddenly. Quite a shock as we had hoped she would hold on to see her first grandchild arrive, but sadly not. Not how I envisaged my pregnancy ending. Sad Anyway what with that and sleepless nights, acheing hips, heartburn as soon as I lay down and feeling like the size of a rhinoceros, B.day cant come quick enough!
It is very scary tho..can totally understand..you wait for this day for ages and when it finally comes ya think oh my god will I be able to cope.
I wish you you both lots of luck tho for when day arrives just keep thinking ...that your going to have something so amazing at the end of it all, and you'll become a mummy which will make everything else fade into insignificance. Wink

I'm really sorry to hear that. You must have had a really tough time.

Yes I am scared but it's just a day and as you say after we'll have this beautiful baby to take care of and to love.

I hope everything goes well for you and we'll just have to remember that it's not long now.

I'm off to cut the grass now and tidy the house, maybe this will get the things moving a bit.

Good luck to you and let us know how the birth went.

xx Tammy

Have you told your MW about the itching? It can be a sign of OC - Obstetric Cholestasis - which is a potentially serious pregnancy liver problem.

No I haven't. I thought that it's a hormonal thing. But now that you said I might give her a call. It only itches in the evening.

Thanks Japhrimel

I also feel your pain. I am 38+6 today and some nights sleep well, other nights I sleep terribly. I am also contemplating moving into the spare room to allow my husband to get a decent night's sleep.

I have had no signs of labour at all, apart from upset stomach and my nausea returning, so I think I have a good week or 2 before the baby arrives. A show at least sounds like progress!! Not long to go now.

Hi Emmyloo2

Yes, as my husband works I think it's only fair that he get a good night sleep without me moaning at every move like an 80 years old person. lol

Tonight I am planning to go up and down the stairs few times maybe this will get things moving. I just had a spicy chinese as well but I don't think that will make a difference.

I'm so sorry to hear about your nausea returning and I know how bad it is. I had it at the beggining of my pregnancy and it was horrible. But as you say, not long to go now.

Take care.
