I teach cooking, so this is problematic! I've been signed off work on and off the whole pg so far as have been feeling really ill and it's got to the point where I'm back at work an hour a day, but for the non-practical lessons (and tbh struggling in other ways just gettting through those). Work are being very patient and good but they are starting to get to the point of wanting/needing to know if I'm likely to be working for the duration of my pg or if it's best if I'm just signed off again (I was the one pressing to try working to my GP, she was happy to keep signing me off).

Don't get me wrong, it's better than it was a couple of months ago when I had to open all the windows and doors in the house just making toast, but still can't go near certain foods and struggle with most cooking smells.

ANyone get this all the way through? Do I stand any hope of it getting better?

I couldn't bear the smell of bacon cooking in my first pg, but this time seems to be ok. The roast bambi on Sunday was possibly a bit too much though!

Nope, although I am ok with most things, I haven't returned to normal yet. For some reason I can't bear the smell of anything with tomatos in the sauce - like chili con carne or spag bog.... so limiting.... and sorry I am 33 weeks now!

I'm 23 weeks and it's just started to get better to the point where something v. bland like a cake baking is ok. Anything with tomato, garlic, leek or onion is still right out though.

I suffered terribly with this when pregnant with DS3.
I worked as a TA in a secondary school at the time and we provided support for some pupils in the lunch hour as well as in lesson time. I really, really struggled to even step foot in the canteen as the mixture of smells was horrific to my sensitive pregnant nose. Mine improved after about 25 weeks - no idea why - and until then my very kind colleagues swapped with me so that I could do support in the library / breakout room rather than in the canteen.

Hope it improves for you soon :)

Went to get some chips from the chip shop tonigth and suddenly teh smell made me feelall nauseous again. Though have had terrible cold and sinusitis for over a week now and could not smell again until today. Getting a nasty cold seemed to stop the nausea, though have felt dreadful for a week!

Am 19 weeks by the way. Hope this clears up for you soon angels.

urgh, well at least I'm not feeling too freakish with being the only one. Anything vaguely spicy, or oniony, or garlicy, or fishy, or meaty, or really smelly in any way is just not even worth going near :( Fingers crossed it keeps improving.
