Pregnancy

Nine Weeks Pregnant - Loss of Symptoms

Hi,

I've never been on here before so please excuse me if I'm not using the correct etiquette!

I will be nine weeks pregnant Monday. Up until a few days ago I had bad morning sickness and sore breasts but now the symptoms have all disappeared and I'm worried it could be the start of a miscarriage.

We did see the baby's heartbeat at eight weeks - which I believe to be a good sign. But when you start looking at threads on the internet there are so many women who have lost their babies after this point.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi, cupcakebakerer

I'm currently 9+3 and my symptoms have waned somewhat, but I don't think it's necessarily anything to be overly concerned about. I had a private scan last week at 8+5 because I was worried that my symptoms had disappeared; the baby was fine and a heartbeat detected. The symptoms then returned a few days later. I spoke to a midwife during the scan and she said that it's completely normal for symptoms to come and go and that hearing a heartbeat from 8 weeks means the chance of miscarrying is only 2%. I'm also a worrier and did become slightly obsessed with these threads, but I think it's wise not to dwell on them and to be positive.

Take care, I'm sure that all will be well :)

Thanks Scout6.

I'm exactly the same - I worry over EVERYTHING! Nice to know that someone is in a similar position. Today my appetite just seems to have left completely which is totally bizarre. Did you tell people after seeing the heartbeat? After that we decided to tell close family but still waiting to tell friends and work colleagues.

Hi

I stopped feeling sick at 9 weeks, which freaked me out. Had reassurance scan and all was fine. Sickness came back a few days later.

I wish my appetite would would bugger off for a bit, I can't stop eating which is quite unusual for me!

We told very close friends, parents and siblings when we found out; I've had really bad ms (nausea not vomiting) and other symptoms so didn't want people to worry. We've told a few more people since the scan - good friends - but will hold off from making it widely known until the first hospital scan. I think that it's good to tell those close to you in case anything happens, so you can get support.

:)

Hi - my symptoms all faded at around this mark.

I'm 39 weeks now so don't assume the worst!

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

My nausea eased up around 8.5. weeks for about 3 days and then kicked off again. I was really worried when it went because I'd just had a missed miscarriage too. With the MMC, I was so convinced something was wrong, they scanned me at the EPU and I was right. The baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks BUT with this one when the nausea stopped, everything has been fine so far and I'm now 19 weeks :)

My boobs stopped feeling sore at 9 weeks which made me worry. Unfortunately I didn't stop feeling sick until 16 weeks.

This is around when the placenta takes over so quite common to have a lessening of symptoms - but worth seeing your midwife if you’re concerned. I found I’d have days with no symptoms, get really worried and then they’d be back with a vengeance!

I stopped feeling sick for a few days at 8 weeks and panicked and went for a scan, was all ok

Symptoms came back but not as bad and gradually disappearing now (I'm 11 weeks), also had a 10 week scan that was fine, got 12 week one on Friday.

Just try to relax, easier said than done I know! It's actually helped me looking at statistics, this is the website, but doesn't help everyone!

Oh @Hopeful2102, I'm so sorry for your loss. The same thing happened to me at 11+5 in my previous pregnancy. It's agonising.

When you're ready, the miscarriage boards provide amazing support. Sending you lots of love.

Hi,

I had this for a few days around week 9 as well. Then it came back with a vengeance and has been far worse than it was before! It's so hard not to worry about everything! Good luck, you'll be fine :) xx
