I mean, will they think I am odd if I turn up with a suitcase - one of wheels surely easier for us than carrying heavy bag?

holdall with shoulder strap

suitcase is hard to dip in and out of ot get odd things without unpacking the whole thing over the floor
also hard to repack, fasten adn grab when you have to sudddenly change venue

actually, let dh choose the bag as he'll be the one carryuing / unpacking /. repacking it

I took a medium sized suitcase with wheels last time and had the baby's things in a seperate changing bag. It was easier for DH to find what i needed with our things in different bags.

This time i have convinced DH that i should have a new hospital bag so he is buying me a Cath Kidston holdall Grin.

MrsBadger is right though, it will be DH lugging everything.

I used to be MrsShuvel from the Aug 2007 thread.

Sounds obvious but last time I learnt this the hard way... one you can actually carry, in case you need to get to hospital on your own in a hurry!

I have packed a separate small emergency rucksack with just the bare essentials.

I have two holdalls, one for me and one for baby, the baby one has snoopy on so DH knows which one is which.

Ooh that's god thinking Jacksmybaby, never thought of that. Neither of my bags are heavy though, so could probably manage both on my own.

Excellent ideas - thank you. I may have to stay a few days because baby has a condition they need to check out when born so will take clothes I am happy to receive visitors in too.
