Clicking bump!

I'm nearly 34 weeks - 2nd DC. When LO stretches out (seems to do a lot of this) or does a body roll MY BUMP CLICKS!!

I have a bit of pelvic girdle pain burt nothing major and I'm much bigger than I was with 1st DC, it also sometimes happens when I move.

I'm not quite sure exactly where the clicking is coming from - it's somewhere in the bump area - but could be hips, ribs...? not sure! Anyone else had this? I'm not worried - all seems fine - just slightly bemused!

I am 39+5 and am having the same thing! I think it is to do with the pelvic girdle pain. I get it most when I turn over in bed or get up off the sofa. I have been sitting on a gym ball and that seems to ease it. This is probably not much help but it might make you feel better to know it is happening to other people too!

Cupcake - yes it is reassuring to know it's not just me! Starting to wonder if I'm actually carrying a dolphin....

It's quite a quiet click and I'm hoping others can't hear it.

I expect it probably is the pelvic thing, but doesn't seem to coincide with intensity of pain, but I suppose if it's prone to clicking ten a stretching baby will make it click!

ooh not long to go for you now - what a lovely thing to be able to say: 39+5! Hope your LO arrives promptly Grin

Let me know if the clicking stops after the birth!

sorry, don't have time to do this myself, but search the archives for this, there have def been posts about it before.... think it is the baby's hips, but nothing to worry about :)

Ah thanks InTheZenGarden - indeed there are lots of previous threads - though the exact cause seems to be a mystery. It seemed so wierd to me that I hadn't thought of searching for it!

There does seem to be some mention of it being associated with babies who are sometimes breech - which I'm pretty sure this little boy is...

Lots of other theories too, hiccups et mentioned a lot but it definately isn't hiccups - just one little click - akin to a mouse button being clicked and only every now and then, not rythmical like hiccups (which I can usually see from the outside as well as feel!).

I'd love to know if anyone has a confirmed explanation?!

me too!! I have thought Ive been going mad now for weeks coz every so often it clicks like someone clicking their knuckles or something?
I do have quite bad SPD at the moment and my pelvis can make an awful internal click when Im trying to move in bed but this click does seem more in the bump area? Am 39 weeks by the way, wonder if it is babs hips??
Would love to know too

My pelvis and hips click (SPD here too) and my lower back but a. I know it's them clicking as I bloody feel it! and b. DH can hear them.

When Fidget clicks, it's very soft, and it comes from high up on my bump, usually during a good wriggle session, and DH can't hear it (or he hasn't to date, anyway!)

Have also seen a few posts about this in last few months or so.

It must just be one of those things - slightly strange thing to hear though! ANd glad it isn't just me!

parkj83, I think it is usually at the top end of my bump too. Is your LO in a head down position?

Kity, do let us know if there is audible clicking from your baby AFTER birth! Good luck btw - not long to go!

Sorry to bring up a previously discussed question btw...
