It would be interesting to know when did you tell your kids about your pregnancy? My kids are 3 and 7 and I think I'll tell them when they'll notice themself.

My girls were 11, 4 and 3, I told DD age11 when I was about 4 months so she could help me with the other two, and I told the other two when I was about 6 months and couldnt hide it from them any longer..

I'm 3 1/2 months only, but told them a few weeks ago (have morning sickness so it became a bit difficult to avoid the constant "why are you ill Mummy?" questions. They're quite excited and keep asking if the baby's bored in there all by itself.

I took my 4 and 2 year old to the 1st scan and let them in once I had baby checked. 4 year old loved it, 2 year old wasn't really sure what was happening and asked 'is it coming out now?' Grin

I told DS after my 12 week scan, and he was 2.3 then. I think I should have waited, and I really hope I won't be proved wrong, but he is getting so much out of this and I'm about to be 21 weeks. I'd have hated to wait this long to tell him. He talks about the baby in my tummy, pretends he's got one in his own tummy, and I'm able to tell him to mind the baby when he clambers all over me! We've also got lots of books out from the library about having a new baby in the house, breastfeeding, etc, and he loves it. I don't really see the point of waiting for ages, tbh.

Took my 2.6 year old DS to the 12 week scan.

Wanted him to understand why I kept telling him "mummy has a sore tummy so don't jump on it"

I'm only 14 weeks and he is talking to my belly and kissing and hugging the 'baby' goodnight. He's really chuffed about being a big brother.

Wow helly

On the day of the scan, we explained to DS that we were going to the hospital and a lady was going to look into mummy's tummy. We asked him what was there (and we hadn't told him) and he just said " a baby" and carried on playing as if it was the most obvious answer in the world. H ecould have picked up on it from me talking but I was careful not to mention about me having a baby in my tummy.

We also asked him a while before if he would like a brother or sister. He was adamant he wanted a sister and he has referred to the baby as a girl. Only time will tell if he is right.

Do you know, my 5y old also said there's a baby in your tummy mummy when I was about 6 weeks - I just laughed it off and didnt confirm it til later - how weird - maybe they have a sixth sense or something! (I was getting changed tho so maybe he spotted my already massive 3rd pg stomach!)

I have a sixth sense when someone is pregnant,so maybe DD has inherited it.I was pretty surprised at the time, she was so tiny but she was a v.early talker.I hadn't said anything about it in front of her as I'd only just found out.DetectiveP-will you find out the sex at 20 weeks? keep us posted!

I certainly will find out! Some of my friends think I'm mad and should have a surprise. No way. I need to know! Found out with DS. It makes it seem more real to me. I will let you know.

My friend said she knew someone was pregnant at her DC's birthday party but she didn't know who. It was me and I didn't know, (she didn't tell me until after). Years ago I spotted a friend of mine in town walking along and I just looked at her and thought "you're pregnant" she was as well.
