Title sums it up really, baby quite active (which is great obviously) but I am finding it increasingly painful when he moves, throughout the day I am having to stop walking/ moving due to the pai and at times it leaves me literally gasping or moaning in pain. DP says I have even been moaning in pain at night!

The pain is worst when feel it in my back, over my cervix and (sorry if tmi) my back passage, at times I dont know what to do with myself!

Currently baby is 'back to back' Sad which was not the case for DS. Am wondering if this might be the cause of this or if maybe there is actually something wrong and I should mention it to the Midwife or GP??

Anyone else struggling with this?

Hi GAFU, not experienced quite the same but wanted to give you some sympathy :)

I am 33+4 and my baby likes to peddle on my pelvic floor... feels like getting kicked in the fanny from the inside!!! I have been sat in meetings and suddenly yelped in pain (makes my boss VERY nervous!!) because its so sharp and sudden.

It will be ok though, you only have 3 weeks left (although if you feel like me that is an absolute lifetime) so the end is in sight!!

You could try having a warm bath, even if the baby still kicks it might just relax you a bit :)

Was talking to my Mum about this last night. I was back to back inside her when she was having me and she said some of my movements in the last few weeks were excruciating. Perhaps it is that you get more of the kicking etc at the front rather than into your back where you don't feel it so much? I'm only 31 weeks at the mo and not back to back so can't talk from personal experience. If it's worrying you, I would always mention it to the midwife. She may be able to put your mind at rest or give you some more practical tips on coping with the pain. I always find copious amounts of chocolate good for pain relief Biscuit

Hi SSShh and patsy thanks for your messages.
I suppose I am fairly sure it is 'normal' its just very tiring coping with such sharp regular pains.
From what i can make out, the hard bits of the baby such as back of his head, shoulders spine etc are basically stuck up against my vertebrae, which obviously doesn't happen when babay faces in towards your spine.
Suppose I just have to put up with it! Not long now....

Hi there, Ive got this too. Im 38 weeks now and am regularly doubled over (or as doubled over as a heavily preggers woman can be) in agony. Sometimes hard to even sit down coz of pain around bum area!
I only found out last week that baby was back to back and midwife says this explains all the pain. But it is awful, really tear inducing pain.
I also never had this with DS as he was in a great position from quite early on. Wish I could give you some magic suggestion to make it better but I haven't found one yet! Oh apart from lots of baths! Turning sideways in a v deep bath eases things massively.
Good luck, not long to go now!

Hi Kity
I must admit I am getting increasingly concerned about how I will cope in labour if this is anything to go by, managed to get to 8cm with Ds with g and a but no way will i manage that long if I get a much worse version of this pain1 Think its the pain in my 'back passage' that is the very worse, agony!
Epidural here I come!!

34+4 and almost every movement this little one makes (DC3) makes me gasp with pain. Have been like this for a month!

Must be a boy this time as DDs 1 and 2 weren't this active!!!!

Hi Guilty, I know what you mean! I managed with just G&A all through DS birth, ended in a EMCS unfortunately coz no amount of pushing was making him budge but I felt I "coped" pretty well with the contractions, they weren't as bad as I thought. But totally agree with you, these pains are just horrendous and actual make me sweat! And there is no way I could stand 9hours of them. Am hoping I wont have to deal with them though as am having a ELCS in 10 days time. But the thought of going into labour before then with these kinds of pains does scare me.
An early epidural is exactly what I would have gone for!! X
