very jumpy baby at 13 week scan

I had my scan today and the baby was extremely active. The ultrasound lady said that she sees babies bounce of the wall with its legs all the time but not at such fast rate and power. She had much difficulty getting the measurements because the baby would launch itself off every 10 seconds. I did not drink coffee or sugary drinks.

Did anyone have such active baby on the scan and was it very hyper after it was born?

I had a really jumpy, bouncy 12 wk scan with ds1. Had problems taking measurements too! Ds1 is so laid back and adorable/easy and always has been ..he's now 2.4. Ds2 was 'asleep' during his scan and is a complete handful!

We had a jumping bean at 12 weeks and she had terrible trouble trying to take measurements, almost to the point where she was about to tell us to go away and come back!! I am now 19 weeks and looking forward to another scan a week on Monday to see if it is still mega-active. I can't feel anything much, I have an anterior placenta.

ditto mamasunshine! our 12wk scan with ds took about 45 minutes because they couldn't get the measurements done, he was jumping around all over the place, i was scared he'd be a real live-wire. But since birth he's always been a really chilled out baby, very laid-back and not at all sensitive (e.g. rolls over, bangs head, looks up at me surprised and then bursts into the biggest smile I've ever seen!).

good luck!

I'm carrying twins and had one sleepy baby and one fidgit at my 12 week scan. I've since had my 20 week scan and another one, and they were both wriglling all over the place. Quite amusing since the last scan was because I stopped feeling any movement! (Turns out I have two anterior placentas, so if the babies turn and face each other, they're kicking each other and my placentas so I can't feel it)

No idea whether wriggly scans means wriggly newborns - ask me in a few months!

Had my nuchal scan today (12+6) and although baby was fast asleep to begin with as soon as sonographer started putting a little bit of pressure on to get a clearer picture baby starts bouncing all over and waving his arms around. It was so funny, I started laughing and made it worse. Will be interesting to see how bouncy baby is when I can properly feel it x

thanks everyone.

My husband said that I looked very scared when I saw the baby jump of the wall like that. to be honest I was, I had no ideas that babies can be THIS active at this stage, I thought may be something is wrong. But active means good we will prepare our self for a little hurricane just in case

I have one calm pg & one hyper pg and children are the same. Dc3 so far is hyper and was v difficult to measure. It also doesn't cooperate with the Doppler. They can be 'annoyed' by both the pressure & the sound waves so get more wound up during scans/dopplers.
