I have been thinking about potty-training DS who is 2 in a couple months, and read about this Bootcamp method in the Mumsnet Toddler guide book.

Who's used it and what did you think?

Is this the one where you stop putting baby in nappies and expect them to be dry by the end of the week?
Yes, I tried it, ended up with a distressed and unhappy child by about day 5, who fretted constantly about the places she'd had an accident and on the fifth day burst into tears when I tried to take her nappy off in the morning and held onto it saying 'mine'. I finished at that point, left it a couple of months, introduced the potty much more gently and now she is out of nappies in the daytime and hasn't had a single accident.
It might work as a technique for some children, but it did not work at all well for mine.

It's the only way to do it.
Ok, not the only way, but the most efficient one for sure.

Oh. The spelling mistake in the title isn't an homage to the fish by the way.

Sorry, just read your dd is 2 soon. I wouldn't be thinking about it for sometime yet.
Then, do bootcamp method.

My DD was 2.5 and showing all the signs of being ready, but it didn't work for us.

All mine have been toilet trained by the age of this was day and night - I didnt do a boot camp but it took less than a week - because I was lucky - they were ready, the only time toilet training is succesful is when the child is ready.
