Potty training and birthday

Hi everyone, I really need some advice! My son is nearly 3 and I've been planning to potty train him for a while, but because of lots of family travel we kept postponing. Now we finally found a weekend when we could start but it's just a few days before his birthday - and I'm worried the potty training process will spoil his birthday celebrations. Should we postpone for another date, or just go for it? What do you think?

I hope this isn't too late, But i would leave it. His birthday will give an opportunity to play up how much of a big boy he is. You can buy nappies in a smaller size and make a big thing about how he has outgrown them becuase hes now 3!.
