Should we stop? Is this usual?

I started potty training my (just) 3 year old about two weeks ago. He is usually happy to sit on a potty and will do a wee most times. He has had a few good days where he has stayed dry and is very keen to be in 'big boy pants' not nappies. However, most days he is wet four or five times and doesn't seem to mind. Everyday he is soiling his pants (poo) and is not bothered by this. Do I stop? Or is this all perfectly normal? TIA
