Help. After an initial struggle getting my son to poo on the toilet he is now 100% successful at going for wees and poos by himself. The new problem is that he HATES having his bum wiped. He will go for a poo but not tell anybody that he has a dirty bottom. I have told him that he must call me. He always gets praise for a poo on the toilet - it is amazing how excited we can all get about this lol
What do I do? I don't want to tell him off and risk regressing and not going for a poo on the toilet at all.
Any advice would be great. x

Do you think he might take to those washable wet wipes that are available?

When I say 'washable' I mean flushable.

I would sit him down and have a big boy conversation about why we wipe, how yucky and sore he will get if he doesn't let you wipe him.
This is going to sound cruel but I've explained, in detail what fly-strike is and how it affects rabbit and sheep to Mini-pirate before to get him to ask for someone to wipe him.

I have used wipes as I was worried that the toilet paper was a bit dry for him but no luck.
We have talked about why it is important to be clean. He is fine with washing hands etc. I will try again though.

what about letting him have a go with the wipes after you're done?
