Reusables for older children

DD is 4.6, and wears a nappy at night. She's going to be too big for the 6+ ones soon, and I'm loath to pay through the nose for the drynights pull ups.

I've never used reusables before, and I'm a bit baffled by all the separate bits. Can anyone give me an idiots guide to what I should buy?

Is second hand ok?

What size do I need (6+ nappies say up to 37lbs so bigger than that)

Easy Peasy do a range of bigger nappies, second hand is fine, but the older your children get, the harder it is to pick up second hand sizes.

You will need a wet bag for wet nappies / soakers. i signed up to a facebook group and asked a stupid amount of questions, people were always happy to help there.

For bed wetting I used all in one pocket nappies, they which are fabric outers which have a pocket inside for a washable pad.

I used second hand bright bots training pants for night time, but DS was usually dry so they were more of a just in case. They, and other cloth reusables, went in a lidded bucket, dry, until they're washed.

Second hand fine and can be softer, as long as elastic hasn't had it, and seams not worn through.
