I am toilet training my 26 month old daughter I have done this for over a week now at first she was really good and getting used to when she needed a wee and went on the toilet fine. Over the last 3-4 days she has been standing with her legs open and watching herself wee on the floor at first I said never mind just tell mummy when you need a wee and I will take you to the toilet but I have noticed she is doing it all the time now instead of asking for the toilet. I was rewarding her with stickers and she enjoyed that but obviously not getting stickers when she has an accident. Is she ready should I continue or try later on?

Watching this thread with interest and for a bump to get some response. Apologises for hijacking op, but I'm feeling your pain.

I have a only just 2year old and were not training yet but she is very proactive about using the potty so at the moment we're just letting her get on with it but she has started doing the same thing and it's definitely deliberate.

Hi my 2yr 9 month has just started toilet training, she does the same thing! She gets on and off the toilet as we have a training seat and step as its a game, then because she stands to wee in her nappy, she stands up from the toilet to wee! I'm sure they will get it eventually, don't worry!! X

I hear you! My ds is two yr 6 months. He will happily sit on the toilet or potty when he chooses and can 'perform' however when we have attempted proper big boy pants potty training or just during nappy free time he actively goes off and wees on the floor. Favourite places are my bedroom, the lounge and once on the dog! Help! Don't feel like I can have another proper crack at potty training as I don't know how to deal with this. It's definitely not an accident so don't know if I should be treating it as one saying 'never mind let's try the potty next time' but don't want to get cross and potentially cause issues either!

do you take her to the potty/toilet after she has done that? If my little one has an accident I always take her to the potty, she sometimes finishes her wee there but not always. I like to think I am reenforcing the idea that she needs to go on the potty. I also encourage her to sit on the potty and watch herself wee, that is a huge novelty and she likes to sit down to do that.

I'm no expert. I am a newbie so none of this might be of any use!
