Naptime nappy?

Hi there,

Looking for a bit of help with this if poss please? DD is 21 months and we've been potty training for a couple of months, she's very interested in it (reward charts, praise, etc) and has been doing well.

She will however hold on to number 2s until she gets a nappy on, she has done it in the potty a few times but clearly doesn't like it. She had been getting a nappy on at lunchtime and bedtime. Recently, she had remained dry through naps, if we were out in car/buggy. So I took the naptime nappy away thinking she might be ready and also hoping this would be one less number 2 opportunity so may encourage her to go in potty.

We had a few good days but then over the last 10 days she has been consistently wet at naptime... Have I jumped the gun? I am wondering if I should stick with it or go back to nappies, I don't want to confuse her but aware obviously she is still v young and I fear she is associating lying in her bed with being ok to pee...?

Perhaps just let her have a nappy until she refuses? My 2.5 DD started refusing her naptime nappy when she knew she was ready. As far as poos go, try the toilet with a toddler seat (we have a family seat with kids size section, but the pop on ones are fine). Your LO may not like the smell or something, my DD hated pooing on the potty to start with! She's currently going through a really close examination phase with her poos though which means she's back on the potty again, we just kind of go with her flow. :)
