Potty training

cloth diapers so that 5.5yr old can 'feel' the wetness nighttime- opinions?

Both my dd (4 and 5.5) were day time potty trained (cloth and pampers-depending on my energy) by 12-15 months. Something I worked for with part time ec-ing. Then life came in the way and many years later, they are still producing wet diapers in the morning.
I decided to use my cloth ones to see if it will 'put off' or make dd more aware of peeing but she genuinely does not know when she pees- I came up with this idea myself- not sure how great an idea it is now. For that reason, i think pull ups won't make any difference as the problem is lack of awareness for when its happening. Have tried the less water in evenings/pee before sleep thing. No signs of it stopping. Any thoughts?

We have always used cloth nappies but, whilst it might make a difference in the day to realizing when they are wet, the factors governing night-time dryness are not likely to be affected by the type of nappy as far as I can see. I would only say that when we tried disposables on out then 5 year old DS1 on holiday he said how much less comfortable they were than the Terries he was used to wearing - he said there was a lot of sticky plastic touching him with the disposables.

Thanks for that. Seems to make sense. Maybe she's just not quite there yet.
