My son is 27 months and I have been potty training since end of May with mixed results. I think it's all a bit more luck than judgement...
He has been happy to sit on a potty since 7months but obviously not with any clear training achieved at that young age.
At the moment, he only wears a nappy for long ap after lunch and overnight, but rarely is the nappy dry, and never dry from overnight. He has only told me he needs to wee a few times, and meant it. More often, I think he needs to go so take him to potty or toilet. I try not to ask him as he will just say no. But this is not toilet training...I need him to tell me, not the other way around!
Am today fed up of clearing up wee after a few accidents...but he seems a bit carefree when they happen and just stands and lets the pee gush out. I want to scream out "so you DID need to go!!!", but am trying very hard not to comment as I don't want to make an issue out of it. We have practiced him saying "Mama, wee wee" but clearly it's not having much effect.
Time to just admit momentary defeat and try again later? He is not able to pull up his pants, get dressed on his own at all.
This is my first child so any advice would be welcomed! I know they're all different but thoughts and experience from others is often very helpful. Thanks in advance!
P.S. he has never had an accident with poo, and is very happy to do this on the potty or toilet and always knows we flush it away afterwards so does understand that bit.
