Right, we're going for it.

Decided we are going to do this potty training thing tomorrow, and I'm dreading it Grin
Just been out to buy some knickers, got a step and a padded little toilet seat, am I forgetting anything?
Also wondering if anyone can recommend how long to leave between trying her on the toilet? I've downloaded an app that sounds an alarm each time, but not sure what interval to try.

Thanks Smile

Good luck!

We are on week 2 and it is definitely getting easier.

I left it about 15-20 mins after each drink, and then tried before we went out. But I am sure there are people with far better advice than me :)

A potty! She might not be comfortable with other loos at first.

My schedule at the beginning was every hour, then if there was no wee, every half hour until there's a wee. Good luck - we're 2 months in and getting there!

Invest in some rubber gloves and a general laid back attitude and you'll be fine. The worst is over by week 1 in my experience

We are taking the very laid back approach... DD tells us when she needs poo poo or wee wee. Sometimes she says no when we ask her of she wants to sit on the loo... Not fussed... She's only 22 months so not stressing, just want her to do it when she feels ready and give her lots of encouragement so she feels positive....

Or ... leave it until they say I need a wee/poo and it will be over on day 1 (I do known this doesn't work for all children, but it does for most).

On the positive side, I do know people who have taken your approach and it has still been all over on day one, so good luck.

Stick to your decision. No nappies or pull-ups at all in the day. Ask every 10 mins if they need a wee. Keep potty within reach at all times. Leggings or trackies... If its warm enough, bare bottoms in the house. If they miss, no prob, mop up and clean pants. And bribe with choc buttons for every success! And whoop like you've never whooped before when they get even a drop in the potty! We were done and dusted in 4 days with DS when he was 2.5, and 5 days with DD at the same age.
