3yo soaking through nappies at night

My 3yo has been soaking through her size 6 nappies most nights, through everything so I have to change her and the bed. So the last few weeks I've started waking her for the loo at 10pm which works but really upsets her, but is better than the alternative. Is this common, how do they learn to stay dry at night?

Watching avidly because despite me changing 22mo DS3 at 1am, he still manages to pee right through his nappy by 6.45am. No answers for you though - so far I've tried Pampers baby dry, Pampers Active fit, Huggies, Tesco and Asda nappies, and not one of them hold enough for my tsunami-tiddling tot!

Lifting is better at 10pm than a wet bed at 4am, in my experience with the older DC's. does she still have a drink in bed? That's when all mine were dry at night, when they did away with their nighttime milk.

She hasn't had a night time drink in ages but we often have tea quite late, only an hour before she goes to bed, maybe I should give her more in the afternoon and less with her meal. I've just stayed up online too late and had to go and change a wet bed - grrrrr!

We've been talking about this among our friends, and the general consensus is that once size 6 nappies aren't doing the job any more, you have to switch to the infinitely more expensive pjyama pants/nappies specifically designed for overnight. sorry...

So maybe a larger size nappy will help DS3 then. I just worry that it will be so loose that he will pee out of the sides!

He has been in 5 for a while, but all brands are still a bit loose round his sparrow legs, and the tabs still meet in the middle.

Is she having juice with her meal? I would sub for water if so. I dont think eating a meal then should make that much difference. Is the nappy wet at 10? Does she go to the toilet before bed?

A friend's daughter was really wet until she took her night nappy off. She was then dry but just lazy/ choosing to go in nappy. I found that surprising as I thought you left nappy on until they were dry Confused
