Ok, this is embarrassing, but I need help wiping DS's bottom Blush

We have been potty training since last Sunday evening and the last two evenings DS has poo'd in the potty ( this is from being a bit of a closet "bedtime pooer") - I am hugely proud of him :).

Anyway, I am currently trying to wipe with baby wipes (soft gentle) and then I dispose of them in the nappy bin. We will move on from these, but it is a start. I am also wiping for him because I think that he has enough to cope with at the moment (one step at a time...).

Anyway, I wipe with him standing up, legs slightly parted. I use upwards wipes (well front to back) until the wipes are clean (so I think that I have wiped him clean). Pants back on. Roll on bath time (30/60 minutes later) and there are skid marks on his pants Blush. What am I doing wrong?

Bend him over properly. It's the only way. Think the standing-up version of him on his back with his legs in the air that you were doing yesterday.

(He'll be absolutely fine with this, btw.)

Once he's doing it himself you can expect skid marks again.

Oh, and when he's a teen.

So, enjoy the "bendover" weeks months, skid-free.

Thank you very much :)

I felt so silly asking! I have been wiping my own bottom perfectly fine for years (and his on the changing table) Blush

I have so many skid marks things to look forward to! :)

Tell him to bend over and hold his ankles, use toilet tissue instead of baby wipes because its flushable, you can buy moistened toilet tissue that is a bit like wipes, but I used it for a quick polish rather than the full turd removal.

Yes get him to bend over - tell him to pont to his toes. I use toilet roll then a moist toilet tissue. I then give him a moist toilet wipe and tell him to wipe his own bottom just so he gets the hang of what to do xxx
