DS managed potty training really well and went from nappies to undies with the minimum of mess / fuss a few months before 3rd bday Smile

Carried on with pull ups at night which were nearly always dry and he asked not to wear them anymore.
He was dry for a month or so, then went through a few weeks of waking between 2200-0000 to go for a wee and then dry 'til morning.

In the last few weeks he has been wet every night, sometimes by 2130 (he goes to bed at 2000) but doesn't wake.
We started lifting him for a wee (hourly from 2100 until he does one) and he is then dry 'til morning.

Have managed to persuade him to have pull ups on again for the last few nights which we take off we when go up to bed so he wakes in pyjamas, but he is very reluctant and seems a bit gutted that he is back in "baby nappies" even though we call them 'pyjama undies'.
We haven't made an issue of it, just said he has done some wees in his bed whilst he was asleep and pull ups will stop bed getting wet until he wakes up to go to toilet (have been using bed mats so not a issue with mattress, just have to change and clean him and strip wet bedclothes).

He has breastmilk before bed so difficult to gauge how much he is drinking but wouldn't have thought it's more than when he was previously dry.
Also wonder why he isn't waking to wee anymore.

Is this a normal phase and is there anything we can do to encourage him to wake to wee rather than wetting the bed or will it just come back in time?

TIA

Interested to read your post. Dd3 has been dry during the day for nearly two years and dry at night (whilst wearing a pull up) for months too. Persuaded her to give up the pull ups about three weeks ago with no issue until the last two nights when she has woken up in the morning totally soaked. I have no idea why. She is very upset. I think we will get some bed mats today and try again tonight.

I have experience of this... DS1 was dry for about 6 months after ditching the nappies at night. Then he started to wet the bed and I'm afraid it carried on and on for about 18 months. We ended up lifting him at 21.30 every night to avoid the wet bedding but still had many accidents. He eventually just stopped of his own accord and it's now a very rare occurance - he just gets up and goes to the bathroom if he needs to.

I don't believe we did anything different it was just the passage of time...'this too will pass and all that'. Sorry I have no wise words but I do feel for you.

Did anyone put them back in pull-ups for night? DS1 (4) has wet the bed the last 3 nights running, having previously only done it every couple of weeks for the last 6 months. I think it's mostly because he's tired, so waking up in the night in a wet bed isn't helping the situation. He also started school in September (with a late August birthday) which contributes to his tiredness.

I have just bought some pull-ups for him to wear at night to get the sleep back on track, but would welcome input on whether this is considered a good idea or not before I try.
