bear in mind we have never had any problems she was potty trained at 2 it litterally took all of week at home and she has never had an accident since. Last week at school (reception) she wet herself she explained that she didint want to ask the teacher as she was talking to another member of staff then must have forgot untill it was too late the teacher and i have spoken and she has told dd it is ok to just go to the toillete if she really needs to. But she then did it again yesterday at home she got to the toillette but obviously couldnt hold it long enough to actually get on it she was obviously upset by it as was i and angry and then just plain upset again. I dont know if its something iv done i cant think of anything to trigger this shes very happy out going and confident very popular at school there are no home problems i spoke to her teacher yesterday and all is well at school. Am i reading too much into this? and making to much of a big deal of it? i guess because she was never difficult in this respect i just dont know how to deal with it. Any advice would be greatly recieved

How about taking her to the doctor to rule out something simple like a urinary infection?

Otherwise, I think that at five, it's not that uncommon have an accident because they are too embarrassed to interupt an adult to ask. My nearly-5 year old had an accident the other day because she was on the computer and was so involved in what she was doing (also, I think because she was worried that if she came off the computer then I would consider her "go" over :)).

I wouldn't get too stressed from 2 incidents, it is probably coincidence.
