Who would have thought going to the toilet could be soooo difficult Hmm
My 3.10 DD has started pooing in her pants AGAIN after 12 months of potty training hell AAARRRRRHHHHHHHH!

I think over the last 12 months she has been dry and clean only a fraction of the time.

We have tried everything, ignoring it, telling her it's not acceptable, rewarding every visit to the toilet (chocolate Blush), sticker charts (this makes it worse!)

And before you say it, she is completely ready, in fact she is in pants at nightime with no problems and has good bladder control (3+ hours) I am just reluctantly coming to the conclusion that she can't be bothered!!!

She will be standing with her legs crossed unable to walk because she needs the toilet, still insisting that she doesn't need to go. You will ask her is she needs a poo and 2 minutes later there is a full poo in her pants. If you tell her that she is going to the toilet then we have an all out battle on our hands and if we do nothing (i.e. don't mention it and leave it completely up to her) then at best she leaves it until the very last possible minute resulting in a complete change of clothes because she can't make it to the toilet in time.

Thoughout all PT she has had good phases where you think she is finally getting it and then regressed. Last time the regression was wees, this time unfortunately it's both and I have just had about had enough!

I feel like getting really tough with her as the softly softly approach just isn't working and she is very headstrong (just like me Blush).

I was hoping the rant would make me feel better, but it has just highlighted how rubbish the situation is Sad.

my little boy started pooing himself a month after being toilet trained, its so frustrating!!! I dont know if this was the reason but my little boy loves going to his grandmas (she fills him with cake and sweets)and we pass it on the nursery run,soo to cut a long storey short if he pooed himself i told him he wasnt going. Gradually the pooing stopped and even occasionally now he'll say "i can go to grandmas now i poo on toilet". He once pooed himself 5 mins after going to a play centre so i told him we have to leave because he needed new clothes coz he'd pooed. He was upset but i think it got the message accross.
