Should we go back to pull ups at night?

DS will be 5 in a few weeks and not dry at night by a long shot. I've persevered for months now but every morning the bed is wet and I'm having to wash all bedding including his quilt every day. He maybe has one dry night a week at the moment. He sleeps really well - at least 12 hours each night and I honestly think at the moment the signal from his brain just isn't waking him up. It doesn't seem to worry him and I don't make a huge deal out of it but it can't be comfortable or hygeinic for him. I'm so tempted to go back to pull ups for while but feel I may be giving in prematurely. He has nothing to drink after 5.30pm/6 at the very latest and goes to bed by 7.30pm.

Exactly the same here, we tried no pull ups but he just doesn't wake up.

Shall be lurking with interest!

I don't have direct experience of the same, which I guess is what you need, but I'd go back to pull ups if I were you because he just doesn't sound ready.

With my ds1 there was a really clear change when he was able to be dry at night. We went from wet pull-ups every single night to dry over 50% of the time. And that was without any 'training' (not sure how you are supposed to train a child when they are asleep tbh) on my part - it just happened. I guess the production of the hormone that allows the urine to be concentrated kicked in at that point. If that hasn't happened yet with your son then there is no chance of him being able to be dry just yet.

Thanks wb. Decided to go back to pull ups for the time being. I can't take the stink of wee any more!
