My ds is 2.2 years old and i have been waiting for builders to finish there work before starting to potty train, they were meant to take 4 weeks but we are on week 8 starting monday.
My ds has had the potty in the bedroom with him as i wanted him to be used to it and not afraid, as his cousin was nearly 4 when he learnt as he seemed terrified of the potty or the toilet.
Ds has in the last week been pulling his nappy down and sitting on his potty. He has been amazing and although not always getting it right he has been tryig very hard, today he did it perfect and poo'ed in his potty after 10 mins of sitting there.
As he seems to be teaching himself, can i ask if anybody has any tips or advice for me to help him please. He is not at the stage that i would dare put him in briefs.
TIA (Sorry it was long) :)

My DS2 is the same age of yours and we put him in pants three days ago. Against all my expectations he is actually doing really well and hasn't had many accidents. I haven't even needed to remind him at all today!

Your DS sounds more ready than my DS2 was so I'd go for it and put him in pants and see what happens. Start on a Saturday when the builders aren't around so you can focus on him completely for the first couple of days.

I'm not at all a Gina Ford fan but I must say (and it pains me to do so) that her potty training in 7 days book is fantastic.

Good luck!
