Sleep and PT Regression

Has anyone else noticed a correlation between sleep disturbances and potty training regression?
My DD is 3.6 and she has been in pants since she was 2.10. We have periods where is is completely dry and then periods where she has frequent daily accidents (wees only thank goodness). We have just been through a really good couple of months after a really bad patch and we thought she finally had it cracked until the last week or so .
She started having nightmares and getting up in the night for a mummy cuddle , waking up earlier than normal, has suddenly grown out of her clothes and we also had a couple of accidents in bed which we haven't had for months.

A couple of days after the disturbed nights started the potty training and her general behaviour started to go down hill and she is now having multiple daily accidents again. Unlike previous times she is getting quite upset by this (especially at nursery ) and genuinely doesn't seem to have any warning before needing to wee.

So I am genuinely interested in hearing if anyone on MN have noticed a correlation between what I am assuming is a developmental phase (as there have been no changes to routine or let up on the motivational rewards) and potty training.

Or is it just me desperately trying to find an explanation to this behaviour, when there just isn't one!

I assume by the lack of response it is just me clutching at straws then

Only just saw this...I've def.noticed when my ds isnt sleeping well he has more accidents. He's been dry and clean for 6 weeks now day and night. Then this week he's been waking in the night a few times, and being a right monkey to get down to sleep, and he's had 2 poo accidents a 3 wee accidents!! I just put it down to the fact he's so overtired he's not really feeling/listening to the usual cues...also thought maybe he's not sleeping well as a little under the weather?? Hope he sorts both out soon though, as new baby due in September and want him to be sorted!
