Wanna be Velma or Daphne?

Actually I'm going to be Velma.

hotterpotter Wed 03-Feb-10 22:32:38

Well I am not yet svelte enough to be Daphne so you'd better put me down for Scooby (I think we should save the post of Shaggy for Dizz grin)

hotterpotter Wed 03-Feb-10 22:40:43

OK bed time for me. Hope the rest of the bunch turn up soon smile

sambo303 Wed 03-Feb-10 22:44:55

woohoo, wireless network set up successfully (by moi - dp spent all day and i mean ALL day not setting it up confused), I am on my new laptop, all is well

I fancied the blond guy on scooby so i guess i can be Daphne [weird emoticon]

RedLentil Wed 03-Feb-10 22:59:44

Well I'll be Siobhán. It's letter + 'alt gr'
for the uninitiated.

Fab title Buckets and VG ...

RedLentil Wed 03-Feb-10 23:01:46

A hot whiskey for you Sazzles. Then bed.

Doctor's orders.

VG - the 'ay' in 'tay' comes from the Elizabethan English settlers.

In England, the sound changed over time but in Ireland the older pronunciation remained. Which is why we have Keats and Yeats and not either 'Keets and Yeets' or 'Kates and Yates'.

Oh yes, all the fun facts are at my fingertips.

RedLentil Wed 03-Feb-10 23:26:25

I missed your whiskey pouring as I went in to kiss him and to tell him that while he is a melodramatic knobhead, he is my favourite melodramatic knobhead.

Peace is restored . grin

Welcome back sambo, great news re the laptop and wireless router, we expect to see much more of you from now on!

Feeling ridiculously cheerful today, have spent the last 40 minutes at work drinking tea and chatting with colleagues. So your taxes are doing something useful grin Ought to get on with some actual work now though...
