Right, well, can I kick off with a blatant attempt at secret Santa cheating request?
If you are doing secret Santa, would you like to give a general idea of what you might like from amongst the various delights and specialities of Provence?
-almondy biscuits/sweets?
-chocolate olives?
-actual olives?
-chocolate orange sticks?
-macaroons? (but not as good as BA's ones, obv
)
-cheese?
-L'Occitane en Provence goodies?
Then when my partner chimes up, I can note down her desiderata and act accordingly. Cheeky, huh?
If, however, you feel that I have been mean in whetting your appetite and that you too would like some goodies from these parts, feel free to let me know and once the Secret Santa suspense is lifted, we can enter into a mutually beneficial cross-Channel exchange whereby I send you said goodies in return for tea, Tunnocks Tea Cakes, oatcakes and other obscure items missed by Scots abroad.

Hello dear hearts
I have just had a text from a girlfriend. She was here about a week ago with her two boys, one of whom woke up the next day with chicken pox. Presumably he was contagious when he was here. My girls seem fine, does that mean they wont get it, or could they still be incubating? Excuse poor grasp of English, i'm very tired today.
Still no periods here either Springy.
I have been ebaying some old baby bits and a lovely chap came over on Saturday morning to pick up a play gym. He is a first time dad. He looked haggard, I thought he wanted to curl up on my sofa for a bit. grin
We have ebayed Ellen's old cot too. Holly has never slept in it so a lady is coming to collect on Friday. We have therefore committed ourselves to having her in with us until March when we will get bunkbeds. Looks like it's kitchen counters until then. wink
I wondering if I would be completely mental to ebay Ellens travel system which Holly has never used. The sling works well at the moment.
We saw BIL and his pregnant girlfriend at FIL's on Sunday. She has 2 months left. I thought I might feel a bit jealous as I won't ever be pregnant again but I honestly just though thank goodness. Thank goodness I can get steaming drunk at Christmas. grin
And thank goodness I don't have a partner who thinks it's a good idea to tell a room full of people (some of whom she had never met before) that she feels really fat and hates the way she looks. shock DH did his best to shut him up. What a wally. The poor girl looked utterly embarrassed.
Enough wittering.

I have two girlfriends who felt very low after weaning.
It scares me a bit. I have been breastfeeding non stop since April 07. That's going to be a helluva comedown. hmm

Whilst agreeing on your hots for Dr House, what's with the really rubbish accent. Any of the americans on here...tell me, does it annoy you as much as it annoys me (still think he's a bit scrummy though - forgive the mallory towers language, but i have just eaten scones and will be drinking ginger beer with dinner!!)

Auld - is a chocolate olive an actual olive covered in chocolate? Or a chocolate shaped like an olive?
A chocolate olive is an almond coated in dark chocolate and then olive-coloured sugar coating.
I think.
Boff has eaten more than I have in her time. I just give them to others when solace and restoration are needed. But she did let me taste two before she settled down on the sofa with the packet.
They were rather fine.
A is crawling round and eating everything in sight, including the furniture.
DS1 is "playing at babies" and is pulling all the books off the bookcase in imitation of his brother and saying mama a lot.
