How are you both settling in? DH back at work this week, so I had my first day on my own with new DS and 2 year old DD!! Went ok once we were up and dressed!! We went to M&S cafe as I find it much easier to be out and about than in the house doing jobs!!
hello, could you add me to the list as this silly hospital internet doesn't have copy and paste?

Should say that my Mum left yesterday to go back to NZ and DH is going back to work tomorrow so will be the first day by myself. I am petrified!!
Is it your 1st baby babylady? My DP is going back to work tomorrow I am going to try and get out of the house as much as possible but DS has a tendancy to wander off, must invest in some reins as I am not going to be able to chase him with another baby in tow! Is anyone getting a good nights sleep!?
There are some good weighted babies on this thread isn't there?!
Yep, it's my first time. Agree about the weight. I thought Toby was a huge baby but he seems the norm as per our thread so far!
This will be my first night on my own too as DH really needs to get some sleep as he drives 1.5hours each way to work. I'll let you know how it goes in the morning

I'm getting reasonable sleep. Baby sleeps for 3 hours at a time like clockwork, so I've still been getting 8ish hours a night. DH is also back to work so I have to make sure we don't wake him in the night.
Babylady - I just realised that your baby was born on my birthday and my baby was born on yours!
and they were the same weight!
at 8hrs. Charlie is like an owl and he doesn't like sleeping on his back, he likes it on his side or front, not sure how I am going to get round that one suggestions please!
DP has to get up for work at 3am. I wish we could win the lottery so we could give up work and live the life of luxury!!!
bexxa DD always slept on her side and so does DS. HV always said it was fine in the day, but not at night
(what's the difference, either it's fine or it's not!). They just wouldn't stay on their backs, and its not like I could hold them there all night, so I just let them sleep like that as they were obviously more comfy that way (and I'd rather that they actually slept so that I could sleep!!).
Had best night so far last night, Put Joe to bed at about 8pm and he only woke at 12.30am, 4am and 6.15am. yay!
Finding the mornings the hardest, getting us all fed and dressed!!
Hope you are all getting on well!
Blinder, how funny is that!!
Night went ok. Toby is very unsettled between about 9 and 11:30 due to what I think is a build up of wind during the day. He is a total guzzler on the breast and I seem to have a crazy amount of milk which is not helping obviously as he has to gulp to keep from being drowned.
So in terms of settled sleep, he went from 11:15 to 1:45, 2:20 to 4:50 and then 6:00 to 8:15. Still feeling pretty jaded so will try and catch a nap this afternoon I think.
Ladyem, your sleeps sound awesome.
Bexxa, Toby can really easily roll onto his side as he seems to get his shoulder over. We bought one of those wedge things which you put them in between which seems to keep him mostly on his back.
Is anyone swaddling their LOs?
DS seems to hate being swaddled with his arms inside the blanket (DD loved it and slept really well if we swaddled her. It seemed to stop her startle reflex which always woke her up!), so we've gone straight into the baby growbags instead and he's very happy in those!
I'm seeing that everything has the warning about not letting your baby get overheated, but DS seems to only settle when he's well wrapped up (ie vest, babygro and growbag with sheets over the top), so how do I know when too much is actually too much? He is never sweaty with all of this on and I check the back of his neck to see if he's too hot, which he doesn't seem to be. I know the rule about day time wear when they need to wear one extra layer to what you are wearing, but at night, I'm getting confused! DD was a spring baby, so I didn't have this problem!!
Just managed to actually eat a meal without having to BF DS!! First one since I had him! How do they always seem to know when you are about to sit down and eat?!!
Yes Ladyem, they hear you in the kitchen and a part of their subconscious tells them it's food time too
I'm feeding DS EBM so I've learnt to eat one handed whilst feeding him.
Today an old lady on the bus JUDGED me. I put the pram on the wrong way so the other pram user had to go on the other side. My first trip out alone, on a bus, with a pram. I think I can be excused the mistake, but no, I get snooty old lady bitching to the woman sat next to her. I think I'll stay home and be a hermit.
Grrrr, I hate old ladies who sit there moaning about other people
Makes me want to annoy them even more!! I had one commenting about my 2 year old DD having a tantrum in the co-op! Something along the lines of 'bloody screaming kids!', so I let DD carry on a bit longer!! Lol!!
Have put a load of my maternity clothes on ebay! Feels so good to be getting rid of them! Although have kept a couple of items for prosperity!! The top I went into hospital to have DD and the nighty I had DS in are being put into my pregancy box!! Hoping to make enough money for a nice new pair of shoes now that my feet are a normal size again!! (YES, I have that much maternity wear!!
!!)
Good for you. I would have told your DD to scream louder as well, just to annoy her even more
I'm still in my maternity wear
. Apparently my arse got fatter without me noticing and none of my trousers fit anymore.
I just went out and bought some jeans in a bigger size!! No where near my old size yet!!
I am defo not in my old clothes yet and with my Pamela Anderson boobs there is no way any of my tops will fit. Hopefully the size od them calms down in the next couple of weeks.
Good luck on the big sell off!
Hate to tell you, but last time mine stayed massive until I stopped feeding!! I'm usually a 34AA and at the minute I'm in a 34DD!!!!
NOoooooo, better not stay this size! I am normally I 34D so you can imagine the size at the moment. Pam is not exageration.
Had an ok night with the wee man once he got passed his usual unsettled stage which last night ended about midnight. He then went from 1:10 (me in bed) to 4:45 and then from 6:00 to 8:15. Hard thing is that even though I am knackered and would like to have a sleep during the day I find it really hard to drop off for more than about 25 mins, when I really need about 20 hours!!!!
Hope you all had a sucessful night.
Unusually successful night. He was a bit fussy, but had a lot more milk each time he woke, so stayed asleep longer. Woke up at half 3, 7 and then half 10.
I have too much stuff to do around the house to be sleeping in the day, which is a rubbish.
I got clown rage in M&S yesterday as they measured me for a bra, and they don't do my size
I put a picture of him on my profile
