Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

different spelling - HC you're not sad at all. MNtowers let me have it so hope she's not p'd off with me.

they are going to change my old posts to another nickname totally unrelated to me so threads still make sense!

nothing else to report here, just tired and now dh has man flu....
Ah, saddo that I am remembered something the original LTH said so have found her on lots of threads, here is one of them: ladytophamhatt

HC

Had a search for that user name but can't remember exact spelling.

Annie-bah to colds and not sleeping. Am all excited cos 2 men with clipboards went next door so hoping they are estate agents. Actually, they pulled into my drive and were about to ring the doorbell when they must have realised their mistake.

Must collect my pyjama dressed Emma from school. She is currently grounded (DH hates that word but that is what the children understand and I can't think of anything better) for lying and bad attitude towards me and DH.

Laters!

Yes, LTH I seem to remember that name from somewhere... your friend must be getting confused between real life and cyber-space! how annoying though, to have all your posts deleted. This thread won't make much sense now!

Bloss, great to have you back!! Holiday sounds fab, let's see some photos! Poor kitty cat though.

HC, glad Matthew is starting to settle. Still only 7 weeks! Bye bye dogs yaay!

Both of mine are constant questions...
Mimi is to be an angel in her Nativity play, but insists she's NOT an angel, she's a princess. 'What's an angel, mammy?'. She will be a pink angel I think, oh dear...

Houseful of snot at the moment, not sleeping well... yawn...
That's a pain lth but if unintentional I suppose it can't be helped. Sure I have seen ladytophamhat name before on MN though, was a few years back.

Bloss-good to have you back and sounds like a fab break. Sorry about your cat sad, the boys will be upset too. My cat pooed on the carpet in Matthew's bedroom and there was blood in it. They musn't suffer so the right but difficult decision was made by you. Yuk to the cat flea eggs, your cleaner has good eyes to spot them. How do you cope with all those E-Mails?

The constant questions come from Emma although Sophie is more vocal since being at nursery.

Matthew is 7 weeks now and does seem to be settling down. He does a 4 hour sleep until 2-30 or 3am then wakes hourly but 4 hours is good as 2 hours has been the most. He also seems to have stopped his constant crying.

Best news ever is that my horrible neighbours with the dogs that kept pooing in my garden until dad put chicken wire up are putting their house on the market as he is beating her up so they are getting divorced. No more barking dogs, swearing, loud radio, loud sex and loud garden parties-yay! Think she has already gone and taken the dogs. Hope he cleans all the rubbish up that is piled up against the chicken wire in our front garden.

Better go and do somthing like ironing or wrapping or card writing.

Big wave!

sorry for the wierd test ladies - it's me mum of jacob and sam smile i was unintentionally outed on my fb page by another MNetter so I have changed and asked for old posts to be deleted as I could realistically be traced quite easily...

jacob and I sat in starbucks yesterday having a big boys coffee with him asking the following:

"where does the milk come from, why does it come from cows, where does water come from, why do we drink water, what is the sky for?"

They both have chesty colds and jacob's nose is just streaming snot shock so jacob is off nursery for second day in a row.

Lost the plot with them both this morning sad after I finally got to have some toast at 920 despite everyone else having breakfast at 7am, and then the pair of them wanting it and jacob saying "But mummy you HAVE to share it with me". So I had a huge rant and turned back into shouty mummy explaining that some things are mummy's and NO I DON'T HAVE TO SHARE... sad and I hadn't been shouty with them all week.

Cor and there I was bracing myself for a monster catch up on Mumsnet, and would I have time before having to collect Harry from school and it only took me about 4 minutes! HC you are right we must all chat more...

Just back from Egypt last night. Had a great two weeks, weather was fab, boys had a ball, thank the lord for Kids club we are all nicely tanned - but I think we had had enough of paradise by the time we came home, if that makes any sense at all. We should have done more excursions and stuff but were too lazy lying by the pool and stuffing our faces with free booze and food! grin H learnt to snorkel with DH in about 5 seconds flat, Toby was quite hard work but I think he was just exhausted most of the time. Everytime we thought we were at our wits end with him we saw someone else with their kid behaving worse so that was helpful! smile

Amyway, have had a sad return as have had to put down one of our cats today, as it was clear she was having trouble breathing and the vet told DH she had fluid on her lungs and it would be kinder to put her down. Very sad. sad And I didn't give her a cuddle before DH took her to the vets so ddn't really get a chance to say good bye. sad Boys will be gutted.

Had a text from the cleaner on the day before we came home to say that she had found loads of cat flea eggs etc on our bedding, so she had to stay 3 hours etc to clean it all up, which is great that she could sort it all out for me so I ddn't have to come home to that at 1am. What was less great is that she left the back door wide opne....shock

Not back at work until Monday, hurray, dreading it. Can't even bring myself to log on to work laptop as then I will start readng email and get sucked into the vortex. I bet I have about 1500 emails.....sigh.

Right, off to get H, and break the news about Millie.

Quick one, OMIGOD Harry does not stop talking:

Mum is 88 bigger than 14? Why? Can you count to a million mummy? Why not? Why will it take too long? How long will it take Mummy? Why? What's in the bag mummy? (bread and milk) Bread? And Milk? Why? Is it all mixed together mummy? Mummy why is the bread and milk all mixed together? Mummy is bread bigger than milk? Why? Can we drink the water from the tap at home Mummy? We can't in Egypt can we mummy? Mummy why can't we drink the water from the tap in Egypt? Mummy can I have some water from the tap please?

ARRGGGGHHHHH! He has been an angel all holiday though, such a good boy, very very very proud. Will post pix soon.

Bloss

Hello ladies!!

HC you are sooooo organised. Even if you are behind! We did have a trip to ToysRUs at the weekend and a garden centre with Christmas lights, but haven't even thought about presents, let alone cards.
Hope the mastitis clears up soon, hope it's not too painful.
Good luck with Sophie's school!! I have Mimi's form but still need to ask the priest before filling it out. She will more than likely get in on the sibling rule.

CB, party on Friday? Can't believe he's one already!!

Flick poor Sam, take care, hope he's better soon.

Mimi has a bit of a sniffle at the moment, as has DH - so DH of course has man/swine flu of the highest order, but he hasn't. Mimi has one of those phlegmy voices!
She's getting on really well at nursery again now, though they say she is very quiet there. Big Group Syndrome I guess. They are putting on a nativity play and apparently, she's a princess... hmm.

Joey is a star at his Reception nativity, he just has to twinkle! Most of the kids get a line, but he just has to twinkle... He's getting on so well at school, a few friends, eating his school dinners, reading is coming along... so proud of him.

School life has taken over all our lives!!

Hope everyone else is good. smile

If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
