Thanks, i didn't notice it was about to die.
Whew I thought I may actually have to start a thread then for a second
I was staring at a blank page debating what to call it! whew! thanks for that Flame (btw I ate some popcorn for you earlier!) How's the bump today? less tight?
EPPM if you're going to Selly Oak, you may see my friend,(Dr Bates) she's just starting her 1st registrar post there in Dermaholiday
for dd being a madam when her friend came over, I hate it when they do that....
last time dd1 did it, I ended up playing outside with her two friends, whilst she stropped about in her bedroom
MRM yay for day at work and extra woot for missing the McD's party!
So I threw the towel in this am and brought a new fridge freezer, had to go with hotpoint, as the only thing bar another crappy Beko, that will fit the hole we have (ok Fridgidare did one too, but too small) and to be honest the hotpoint one, was the only other one that looked like it could fit a pizza box in
and now totally brassy
but at least we can have fishfingers, peas and icecream again
and the staff in our local sainsbos and coop won't think I'm a looney who stalks their wares every day......
Ello. Thanks for new thread.
Yay for new fridge freezer.
Yay for derma referral and new tooth. How many does he have now?
Ok, so I diidnt cliam on Flame's link before replyinig to you csws! you'll have to go read the other thread.
friz- it'll be children's...
Ds1 has got tongue tie
. He has to go to ENT at hospital. He got quite upset today when the doctor was trying to look in his mouth so i'm dreading taking him to hospital. I was meant to ring for an appointment tonight but dh is on nights and ds2 has spent almost all evening screaming so haven't had chance.
for selling stuff on ebay csws. I've got loads that needs to go on and i just can't be arsed to do it.
Hope babygus isn't making you uncomfy tonight flame.
for job mrm. I need to make an appointment for a new tattoo but think yours might be too far to travel.
Can't believe your ds is weaning already eppm
scary isn't it?
sorry to hear about DS1 though
dh still has his effectively- he can't put his tongue out of his mouth properly, and cannot pronounce his 'r's either...
Busy day. Out all day and very tired, so no proper post.
mrm - I have sent my phone no via facebook as I don't have your email any more.
Phoenix, I know it will be hard but it will be better in the long run. Not just for the speech issue - DH says his has got tighter over the years and it aches at times, just randomly
Babygus is playing up tonight as well. Haven't felt "right" since mid afternoon. Not having contractions or anything, but not feeling normal either.
Yay for tooth.
Yay for freezer.
Have forgotten the rest.
How many weeks are you now? I know I should know
Phoenix, what a graet idea! Come down for a visit and you can get tattoo done at same time! I'm sure we can fit you all in our house somewhere, Lewis could go in with the boys! And with the discount I'll be able yto get for ou, the tattoo will cost North prices anway
Got numbers Jas, ta. So, whats best? To get train to station and wa;lk, or is it still close to get that 217? Or would I end up too far away from the mills?
10 weeks to go for Flame MRM....(prob nearly 9 now!) and then she's usually 2 weeks early right, so does that make it 7
'dangles Flame bait'
Have a lovely meet up tomorrow you guys, gunpowder mills sounds like it could be fun? is it what it says on the tin?
EPPM ah Childrens, of course
I don't think she's had a rotation there yet? she did Heatlands for a while, but has been mainly Selly Oak recently.
Phoenix, looks like you have a date at MRM's then
Sorry to hear about the tongue tie
causing the problems with ds1's speech but good advice from peeps here, sorry I don't have any getting over fear of Dr tips
Twiddling thumbs waiting for delivery here, dum de dum....
How have we developed a myth of me being 2 weeks early?? I was 4 weeks late with DD, and on my due date with the dude.
Didn't take to long for you to take that bait, Flame!
Sorry about the tongue tie Phoenix. I hope you can get it sorted quickly for him. Do you have books/dvds he can look at about nice drs and hospital visits maybe?
mrm....do you remember where macdonalds was? It is the left turn right there as you come from the train. Probably not worth the bus, maybe only 2 stops. I will be there from 12.30, but if you want to come earlier, let me know and i can meet you.
DS cut through the hover cable with wire cutters today. While I was using it
He is a very lucky boy. Totally unharmed.
The wire cutters had a hole burned into them, and the electrics tripped out.
He is bloody lucky Jas. Glad he wasn't hurt.
Flame - How did you go 4wks over with dd? Thought you could only go over by 2wks?
Never thought of books Jas. I bought him 3 books to explain about the baby coming and him been a big brother.
Sounds like the kind of thing ds2 would do too.
Ok, I'll aim for 12.30, I'll get the train as I've at least been there once vfore! I think I remember the route
Train statin is closer than the bus station, too
Flames 4 weeks over is due to Drs and her not agreeing on a due date in the first place I think. They thought she was 2 weeks over.
Ok, we're gonna leave here 10.30ish, so that'll prob be more like 11, so should be there bout the right time. Ds1 very excited bout seeing the girls, not so excited bout not just coming to your house to watch Spiderman and chexck out the toys
They thought I was on time. When she was born they then agreed that she was a min of 2 weeks over.
I knew my dates due to only one incident of sex, and that by their dates I had a pos test at stupidly early, and we heard heart beat through a doppler before it was possible
Argh for wire cutters!!! DS has done many little git things today (far too many to list), but thankfully none life threatening
Did mention ds2 swung off the curtains, braking the rail and pulling a huge chunk of polaster out of the wall? That was the morninig vefore the Ikea security alert
ooh Flame- your DH has tongue-tie too? What an odd coincidence!
Wasn't it glorious today? <sigh> almost like a real summer...
Jas-
thank goodness he's okay.
Phoenix- your library might have something- ours has a whole shelf of 'families like ours' which is basically books about different situations for children to learn about- mum with disabilities, 2 dads, having an operation etc...
Eek for wire cutters.
Ds smashed our big Sony Bravia tv today
(was in bedroom - not big one in living room). He was fine though - just a little shocked at first.
Have fun tomorrow mrm and Jas.
Argh for curtains. How long did it take to find him in ikea anyway?
I though that too EPPM! Midwives always give me a weirdy look because after both of them the first question I ask isn't fingers/toes, it is "Is the tongue ok?!"
EEeeeekkk for the wire cutters Jas, glad he's ok phew.
MRM eek for the curtains too
Phoenix, there's an episode or two of Me Too! that is a big hospital one, might be of use if you can find it?
Flame
at you taking the bait!
never mind we'll be with you, in spirit at least in the long wait!
CSWS
for the TV, is it working still?
Try not to buy a new one till next year if you can (unless its an insurance job) as all TV's will be produced with internet capability from next year, so you'll be able to do all this on your tv!
csws- how on earth? Did he throw something?
mrm- missed the curtain thing.... eek.
mrm - do you know where I can get hold of a voucher to get dd into warwick castle for free? Have bought tickets for dh and i with clubcard vouchers.
aha - am i right in thinking that under 4's are actually free to get in anyway?!
eppm -
There's a little table built into the bottom of our bed (it's like this one) and the telly was on there. Dh recently moved the little one that was there and put the bigger Sony Bravia one there instead. Ds likes to climb up on the platform at the bottom of the bed and then stand up and put his sticky paws on the tv. He was doing this, but obv put too much weight on the top of the TV and it toppled over and the screen smashed on the little bars on the side of the table.
missed the tv smashing
omg, ok tv beats curtains!
warwick; chargable fron agew 4. its £10, or £9 booked online.
Ah, I love Warwick Castle
. SAy hello to Mark the bowman for me
Going with my other pn thread ladies in a couple of weeks
.
thank goodness it didn't fall on him though...
Another lucky boy.
Flame - both times it's never occurred to me to ask about the tongue or fingers/toes and i've got one with tongue tie and one with a missing finger
Frizbe - I'm not putting myself through any episodes of Me Too thank you very much
. I've seen a few books on Amazon which i'll get if our library don't have any (thanks eppm)
We're going to Lazytown Live in Leeds tomorrow and i'm actually looking forward to it. My parents are having Noah so its just a treat for Lewis
I've ordered Lewis' christmas pressie today. We've decided on a Nintendo DS. I know he might be a bit young but he's got a Leapster and he absolutely loves it and got the hang of it straight away but there isn't much choice of games for it so we thought with a DS there's alot more choice.
So, for those of you who havent seen Jas lately, she 's still lovely
. Had a great day, ds1 sooooo happy to see thegirls! Both went loopy from tiredness on way home, but therer you go. We got in about 7.30 Jas
Oh hello Phoenix! ds1 is desperate for a ds, but we're holding out mainly due to cost but also cos then he'll expect big things forever then! Plus it makes it more special for him cos he plays his Granny's one when she comes to visit
Hello, glad you had fun today
that made me laugh mrm! Isn't she though?
christmas!
not actually thought about that one yet...
dd has been a nightmare today- picked all the sequins off the jeans she was wearing when I was soothing an upset DS to sleep...
been grumpy and whiny in general all day really!
lovely
Am I???
The dds and ds also had a great time, but 7.30 to get home....that is too long
Sorry.
Thankyou for coming over.
DS has dd1s old ds (which he broke s only the bottom screen works), but isn't very god at many of the games really.
I was thinking abut Christmas plans in the bath this evening funnily enough. No presents decided though. DD2s birthday first (and mine
)
ds has just cut his own hair
Oh dear.... photo?
Anyone with words of wisdom here
will put them on when I've loaded the post-hairdresser one onto the computer this evening.
Was his hair still long before he cut it?
see pics on profile
It was all one length. DP put the hairdresser off cutting any more off than absolutely necessary, but we will take him back next week and get more layers put in.
MY friend who saw mrms ds yesterday said her ds2 looked older than ds, but now he looks the same age....
Y'know, I don't think it looked too bad pre-hairdresser.
Aww Jas, he does look all grown up suddenly eh {{hugs}} you'll get used to it (says the woman whose not had dd2's hair cut, cause she's good and like it long and brushed/platted etc
) btw you are lovely (as is everyone on this thread
)
Will someone tell my kids to go to sleep please
Flame ring MW, she'll set your mind at ease.
We got a night out last night
went for a bite to eat, then saw GI Joe, which is great, if anyone gets chance to see it!
The kids went to Skeg with the grandparents, they had a great time, maybe hence why they're still rattling on now
I've added a holiday pic of the length up to today.
It looked like a really bad mullet on one side, csws.
Yay for the night out.
The dds are out again (we take turns to host movie night, and anything up to 10 children gather and watch a dvd)
Lol jas, I read that as you ewere thinking of what you weregoing to be doing in the bath over xmas
I've got most of my xmas shopping done, as usual. Jusy not done boys present from us and from each other. And some bits for my Mum and Dad.
I like the new hair. ds2 cut his a while ago, but he had so much you couldnt tell, even though therer was loads on the floor!
Yes you are lovely
. I knew it would take 2 hours; the extra half hour was due to being half way down the staircase to the platform whgen the train left
. And we did pop in the drive through for a happy meal to munch as walking!
I've got really skinned knuckles from boxing yesterday; it hurts! Esp when shampoo got in it as I showered after the evenig classes.
Got 3 hours adult time today with dh; kids on a playtdate. Will prob go to the gym then for something to eat.
Jas, I'm getting my wings put on my man this afternoon
Did you see that thread about t3esting new kids electric toothbrushes? One came in the post yest
Oh I've wanted an electric toothbrush for dd for ages, but I missed the thread
.
This is a really jazzy one; timer, music, all singing all dancing
I think i read that toothbrush thread and was for ages 4 and up csws. I could be imagining that though.
I've just dropped on a cancellation appointment to get tattoo done tomorrow
Just need to decide where to have them (Lewis and Noah's star sign symbols)
Jas - ds' hair looks lovely (after the hairdressers
)
Its got two heads, one for 4+ one for 7+. so technically ds1 should have the 4+ and ds2 too young, but can you imagine the argument if one had it one diidnt?! So they are having one head each for the trial, after which the novelty will wear off for ds2 anyway, and it will become ds1's sole property
hurray for tattoo phoenix
. I've got to transfer the photo of my latest off the phone onto pc, then i'll put it on omy profile. Jas hates it
but she didnt see it with the final touches I had done yesterday
So, my advice is, if you cant dance and you're over 15, dont go to a hip hop class at the gym
. Chicago classwas great though!
Think we're having an insde day today, other than corner shop for milk and loo rolls. Got a few bits to sell on ebay, and might do crafts with the boys.
I don't hate it. I just wouldn't have it on me!
Wings will have improved it I think.
I like the tree alot though.
Ok photo on profile, but you cant really see much
. You ever tried taking a photo of your own back?
Ah ha! Changed it for a better one. got ds1 to take it!! Why didint I think of that before??
ignoring tatts - how little is your waist now?!!?!?
Aww for the hairdressing boy Jas, but his new hair does look very nice.
CSWS - have been officially banned from visiting. 2hrs round trip yesterday didn't do me much good, so am not allowed to consider driving to you.
Its an optical illusion
but thank ypou. Ds1 got a nice bit of builders bum there too
MRM, can't see the man one very clearly. Love the tree one and the one with ds' names
. I had mine done today they're on my profile.
Very nice Phoenix
Are they on your wrists?
What will you do if you have anther dc??
Yes wrists. No more DC'S ever
Sh'es got 2 ankles too
I like the aquarius one cos thats me!!
Will get someone to take a closer pic; ds1 did his best.
flame. Will still have to try to make it to you, though goodness knows when!
I still hate tattoos, but if I didn't then I suppose they are quite nice. I can't really make out the big one of yours mrm, but agree that you have a skinny minny waist now.
Where is the tree one? It looks like upper back, but then can't understand why I can't see it in the other pic
.
I was trying to work out the tree one too.
I hid the nail scissors from DS, now my toenails desperately need cutting and I can't find the things
Lol, yes its upper back, and the camera doesnt go up that far on the other photo. Or maybe I have a body part none of you know about and noone else has
Dh and I like the tree one too, we guessed upper back due to a bit of a chain showing in the photo! We need closer pics of the lower back ones. Have you killed yourself at those dance classes then
Phoenix, liking yours too
Had a lovely weekend crewing at larp here
kept the girls happy by letting them run around in fairy costume all weekend, oh yeah and leaving them alone with a box of snazaroo, which has resulted in them becoming dyed red and yellow
they've had a great time! They were also most curious about the Buddist shrine that has appeared in the top field of the house we use and dragged dh up to have a look too!
Nah, dance wasnt hard work cos spent too much time trying to grt on top of the moves! Got Bollywood dance tomo night
Will do closer pic when I meet my friend, as she is prob bit more capable than ds1 with my camera phone!
<runs in quick> I am selling my business....
<proud>
Well done.
How much? <nosey>
Nice one
Well done
Wow! congratulations Flame
to the mner who enquired?
mrm- your waist is looking very slinky! I cannot tell what your tattoos are of though... middle one is the woman you showed previously, yes?
This is probably a really odd thing to think... but phoenix I didn't realise you could have a tattoo whilst bfing
Okay... I'm a weirdo, aren't I? Why on earth couldn't you?
Haven't posted for a few days- has been hellish- we put ds into dd's room...
He is fine...
Also, had him weighed and weight gain v slow
bfc is concerned, but will wait until he has seen the dermatologist in sept before referring to paed.
You're not supposed to really. Just incase.
Yes, its middle lady, with 2 new figures.
hello can i join ds was born on 1st feb 2006!
Not tellin sale price, but yes, to the MNer.
I thought the same about tattoos and feeding.
for you having room sharing issues EPPM. With the weight gain - dude gave up on putting on weight (or really growing) from about 6 months for aaaaaaaaaaaages. He was perfectly healthy, just very small.
<waves to MehdisMummy>
Is he still tiny btw Flame?!
Just for EPPM and friz, I've put anotyher photo on;its my last attempt at trying to take a decent picture of my own back! Still ont great though.
He's evening out a lot more lately. One of the smaller ones of his year group, but not smaller than his year iyswim.
Crouching man def looks better with his wings.
God, how stupid am i, i never even thought about that but luckily i'm no longer breastfeeding.
Hello Jas
Ta! you stil lke the treee better though?!
Back to gp; spots seem to be coming back and I dont wanna take the chance as we're away for 2 days.
You joined us before medhismummy, but then you disappeared!
How come you gave up bf Phoenix? I thought it was going well for you.
Yay for selling business. To which MNer?
(tell me the price on msn
)
Eek for room sharing EPPM.
I'm in Worcester atm btw. Not sure of plans for each day yet, but could feasibly come to your town on Friday, and maybe do SeaLife again (with dh this time). Do you have plans for then already?
mrm- what is the other guy doing? is he a bowman????
phoenix- sorry , hadn't realised that.
csws- we are going away friday- camping for the weekend with other mners
... am around tomorrow or thurs though.
Hi mehdismummy....
flame- it worries me that he is going to be small though
my brother was tiny as a child, and is pretty small now- so much so that it prevented him being selected by olypmic squad in his sport
not saying that would be necessarily the case for ds, but it worries me.
EPPM {{{hugs}}} try not to worry too much, I'm sure ds will grow fine, he's probably just stalling, they all do at some point. Glad he's settled in new room ok, sorry dd isn't taking it as well though......Happy Camping! (we're i.e. me and girls are going overnight on Thurs with friends/kids too!)
CSWS hope you're enjoying Worcs?
MRM dh said, 'is that a squirrell'
I said no its a bloke with wings/an angel....are you going to do more stuff around them? looks like you're going to create a bigger picture?
Flame, yay for sale
Hello everyone else, anyone got anything planned for the weekend? (bar EPPM's camping?) we don't have yet, but I'm thinking Warwick Castle may be on the list, as have shockingly realised only two weeks left of school hols and of course we're down Christchurch for the last week! I went to get my hair cut today and can't get in till school is back, how shocking is that
we're going to warwick castle on sunday friz!
Sorry can't do today or tomorrow eppm.
Enjoy camping
.
Ah yes EPPM, but say your brother had wanted a career as a jockey or something, it would have been a bonus.
(Will try and reply to the rest later)
Off for our 2 days at Chessington today
But its just me ands the boys, as my friend is no longer coming (ds2 still has 2 spots, and we took him back to gp, who now says might not be impetigo, nd prob not vontagious as we didnt get any from him, but he's got diff medicine to try and cleat up fibal spots). Friend is wasting 2 days free at chessington and her £35.99 on the hotel cos she thinks ds2 will infect her ds and dd.
Er, no its not a bloody squirrel! They do look clearer in real life tho to be fair! The other man is holding the vine thats attached to the lady's vine
. I'm not intending more as such Friz, but nwver say never
lol @ squirrel
It is clearer in rl (but you're right, I do still prefer the tree)
Nothing this weekend, I hope.
We did the NHM yesterday, a day trip on the train yesterday (back 7.30...I bought macD fr the dds and made them walk home from the train station), gunpowder today, Wildlife park tomorrow, and my parents on Friday.
I'm plannning on sleeping on Sat!
Have fun on days out everyone (your friend is a nutter mrm. No way would I have cancelled!)
rofl... I thought racoon at first!
flame- yes- jockey... he would have been perfect height and weight!
Friz- I need a haircut too... is getting ridiculously long... but too scared as always
EPPM - No need to apologise, i honestly never thought about tattoos and bf'ing.
No longer bf'ing because, honestly, i dreaded every feed, i really didn't enjoy it. I couldn't have ever done it in public
. I bf for 3wks til i got him back over his birth weight and then just fed him at night but have stopped completely now. So maybe selfish reasons but i didn't even intend to do it that long.
Lol at squirrel and racoon
ffs
One of my reasons for stopping b/f DD was to go into pretty bras... I think that wins for selfish reasons
I want to see the squirrel and raccoon in rl
Took DD candle lighting last night - annual thing, been going in Bournemouth gardens for as long as I know. Lots of coloured glass jars with tea lights in them all hung up in designs, you go round with tapers and light them. I went every year as a child with no problems at all. First time I take my children, and one of the jars fell and smashed - cut DD's foot
. Only a couple of little scratched but shook her (and me!) up. Will go back again though
I'm not letting one freak accident put us off. The St John's Ambulance woman looked a bit
at me when I was saying to DD "See, I told you not to be scared of the fire.... it was the glass that hurt you!"

I'm back
Lol at your thread Falme!
Welcome back mrm. Was ds2 ok?
Hope you're enjoying camping EPPM
Lovely weather here today. We spent the afternoon in the park with the ds'.
Was it good MRM, hows ds, spots all clear now? Flame is right, we need to see Tats in real life!
CSWS I don't think we'll make it this weekend, but we might try and squeeze it in next week on the way down to Christchurch
hope you enjoyed it
Flame, argh! what to do with the boy! do they have climbing in the olympics? you may have a champion on your hands
EPPM, take it you don't like hairdressers then?
Have been camping for a night on Thur night here with some other mums, was lovely, nice meal at pub, then star watching with wine, whilst we attempted to get kids to sleep
Kitten appears to have missed me, as he's not left me alone since!
In other news dd1 has more friggin nits...think its someone at holiday club, as all should be dead after last sundays treatment, but found two more on Wed night and a further one friday am
have rung club and told them about re infection n could they please put a note up
XPosts Phoenix
was gorgeous here today too, have spent day at home, for 1st time in ages! caught the dd's watering dd2's bedroom carpet though....a suspicious moment when all went quiet....
Glad you had lovely afternoon
Having a result here at the moment, the kids seem to have forgotten I exist, have gone 15 mins without being asked to do something

Have taken them all swimming this am, and thus we have to take ss back home this avo, so am going via Meadowhall, might attempt the Shakeaway que again, if its not too big? might also try and get another pair of jeans and get dd1 school shoes too
Have weighed self and am disgusted I appear to have put on half stone over hols, by mainly just not exercising 3 x a week
back to the grind in two weeks, once the kids are back eh, or I'll not be fitting in my new size jeans much longer
Mine are chasing DH and the strimmer round the garden.
meri doesn't sound cut out for camping Frizbe
But she was the one who used to camp in the woods with her dad n bears n guns n everything
they used to fish for their tea etc! she should be!
She has growed up and gotten home-itised
It was the various tweets about being cold and not enough coffee
we're back!
We were at CC Frizbe
have left it clean and tidy, and ship-shape! The stars were amazing- could clearly see the milky way etc
Temp ranged from 29 down to 13 (inside the tent) - was pretty nice most of the time, with only the briefest of rain one night.
Am v tired.... <snore, thunks keyboard>
I know what you mean Flame! she likes it really, just pretends she doesn't!
EPPM
for you having a great time, it got down to about 13 at night for us too, the stars were fabulous though, I know I'm only in a small town, but I sooooo miss being able to see them at night clearly (we can sometimes see them ok in the front garden, but nothing beats pitch black fields!)
Oh brought dd1 school shoes that fit today, hurrah! she's a 12.5 G (huge!) was having problems as no one seemed to have half sizes in stock, but after a huge que to get seen at Meadowhall finally got some, phew (whose betting she grows out of them in the next 2 weeks then?)
ds1's feet never grow anymor. I've also decidedd to not buy new uniform, as he only trashes it anyway!
We're doing the shoe and uniform thing next Tuesday <shudder> Her old shoes lasted nearly a full school year so are completely wrecked regardless of foot size, and her uniform is indecent on the arse
Need to check her skirt actually - that may be doable.
We're still battling over trousers. I am a Mean Mummy. School trousers look like sh*t imo <insults Frizbe if she has bought trousers>. I think the only ones I would consider would be insanely expensive wool blend type ones, and even then you either need too long, or to replace them as they have a growth spurt. DD wants trousers as her friends have them due to them having "nice mummies". I am being petty. I buy the uniform, therefore no soddin trousers. So there.
I would never have worn trousers to school, I'd rather have run away (too fat for trousers). AS it happens, I had the same skirt for the whole 5 years of secondary school tyou know; started off ankle length, ended up above my knees
I think I only had the one for secondary too
Oh crap.
DH has just been on the phone to FIL. MIL has cancer on her face, and is weeing blood (ie, not just "blood in wee" iyswim). They are apparently waiting for various test results. This can't be good can it?

I've already done uniform, shoes and new bags and lunchboxes for the dds[smug]
Even got a spiderman bag for ds fr nursery to replace the old one of dd2s he has been using.
DD1 only wears trousers, dd2 only skirts
so can't even hand down the grown out of trousers from dd1
flame. Doesn't sound good.
Mum is waiting for breast biopsy result at the moment, but we might never speak to her again away, so not sure if we'll be told result or not. Suspect it'll be fine and that spots on scan will be due to her steroids.
Dd will only wear twirly twirly skirts, so we're screwed if her school uniform doesn't allow them!
Is 12.5G really big Friz? It doesn't sound it. Dd is 9G already.
flame
csws- I take it you had a really good week then?
Think we're getting new uniform tomorrow too... <boak> it is so vile ... she can wear summer uniform until half term... but in pre-reception year you have to have the blazer too... and it is £84, so I think it works out better to buy the winter uniform. At least next year she'll get 1 and 1/2 terms wear out of it.
Indeed EPPM. I even have the (human) claw marks on my arms to prove it.
£84 for a blazer.
Flame.
We got the results for Noah's kidney scan today, it's all normal
. I've got my GTT tomorrow. And Lewis has an appointment on 22nd Sept for his tongue tie. All we seem to have lately is hospital/doctor/hv appointments.
Phoenix- glad the scan was fine.
csws- have you ever looked in on the 'stately home' threads?
They're trying to force blazers into our school too, burt I'm resisting. Not as much as £84 but still too much; if he didnt have to have logo pekit, then we could get it from asda like the rest of his unirom and so afford the blazer. But I hate blazers anyway. Just remebered though that he lost his woolly hat (logo one), shit. Akll uniform is aordered online noe .
Great news re scan Phoenix. How was GTT today?
I've looked in on them occasionally EPPM, but not posted.
God news on kidney scan Phoenix
Good luck with all the other appts.
csws. Sorry you had a rubbish time away.
No blazers here til senior school, and they let you buy a plain black unbranded one and sew on the badge yourself....they know their catchment area well!
I have a bedroom
Not decorated yet (needs replastering first) but a bed in a room
DD2 and ds are in their (almost) finished room now.
When i went for GTT i was expecting to be sat around bored stiff for 2hrs but they said they've changed how they do it now and they only take a fasting blood test then you go home so i was only in a few mins
. They will only contact me if that blood test shows anything.
for bed Jas
Sounds a bit odd Phoenix! My fasting ones when they detected the GD were fine, so sounds like a pretty crap and pointless test!
Yay for new room Jas. At last!
Some of the time away was nice. We had a day at the beach (though the sea was out too far to even really see!) and a day at the safari park, which dd (and we) really enjoyed.
I think that dd might have a bruised or cracked rib from some acrobatics on the trampoline yesterday. Going to see chiropractor friend tomorrow to get her to have a fiddle and see what she thinks.
Oooh hope dd is Ok CSWS, sounds painful for her. Sorry you had a bad time at your mums, hope her biopsy comes back clear.
Flame
doesn't sound too good, might be ok though, skin cancer is quite treatable if caught early enough and you can get blood in urine with bad UTI infections (fingers x'd that's what it is)
don't worry I haven't brought trousers for dd1! I need to sort out a day to catch up with you next week, txt me if you free!
Phoenix, yay for ds being ok
and
for the tests being so quick for the GD! good news you have a date to sort the tongue tie out, did you find a good book to help calm things down?
Yay for bedroom Jas
at last!
Good news here, we're opening another store
its all in the hands of the solicitors now, so hopefully I don't jinx anything by telling you, it will be in Beeston, Nottingham
I've sweetalked Unquiet Dad into coming down and doing a signing on our Grand Opening day in Nov (prays that we have the store open by then!)
Nottingham? Not North London?
Eek for rampoline. Our neighbours friend aged 6 broke his arm on one last week.
Hurray for a bedroom
Off to Southend tmomo but weather looking dodogy now¬! I really dont want to spend 4 days in the sealife centre!
wow Frizbe- that is excellent news!
csws- hope dd is okay
phoenix- hope results are fine
mrm- hope weather improves... it is dire atm here... enjoy Saarffend anyway
Jas-
yay for bedroom! finally got mine back...and end up with one or other of them in it each night
I knew that UnquietDad wrote, but I have no idea what he writes <intrigued>
Hope she is ok CSWS
Been having hair done all morning - now no longer washed out dye colour, and has more shape to it. Nothing drastic, but just "better". Got back to discover that the short one decided he needed something off the shelf above my desk... one shelf off wall, holes in wall from where they just crumble, books everywhere... Yay.
lol, that would match where we still have no curtain rail but 2 big holes in the wall.
We still have the curtain in the lounge that can only be pulled gently at the right angle or it all falls down
Boy is on a whole room moving plan now
. Oh and a catch on the outside of the door up high, which actually seems the safest way to let Babygus sleep!
Half the crap on and around my desk I won't need in a couple of weeks, so a move around does sound good. I was eyeing up a laptop table from Ikea, but then remembered that I use a proper keyboard to stop my wrists aching.
Moving what where?
jusrt random furniture in bedroom
<just remembering what a lovely coffee table you have , should it ever become unwanted in the moving>
Put dh's beloved 8track on ebay last night, as we are seriously in trouble financially and had already booked southend before this got so bad (it was for me and friend originally so I'd have only been paying half). . . its got a bid of £150 on it already
and 8 watchers. I made about £80 selling some clothes of mine. but got nothing of value left to sell now
Coffee table stays with me til I die
<wonders how to cause death online>

Dont owrry, dont think its possibele. And prob not feasible to burgle you or bribe Boy
The short one strikes again eh Flame?
Hope DD is ok csws. Now you mention about the blood tests my fasting one was ok last time too
for new shop Friz
We're going to Flamingo Land tomorrow
. It's like we're going away for a week with all the stuff we're taking for a day out.
What on earth is Flamingo Land? Not just what it says on the tin, surely?
Btw, forgot to do the happy dance of someone with a ds1 who has had TWO NIGHTS NO NAPPY NO ACCIDENTS
Finally the peer pressure of ds2 had an effect I think!
Oh sorry, Flamingo Land
Dd rib not cracked, and she seems to be in less pain today.
Mum has breast cancer.
Great news re new store Friz.
Flamingo Land looks fun Phoenix. When you mentioned it I thought that I had been there, but don't recall ever going to North Yorkshire, so maybe not
.
csws- glad to hear dd is okay. Sorry to hear about your mum- you must have a lot of conflicting emotions to deal with right now
mrm- great about DS1! What is Flame's coffee table like then?
eek for flameboy...
have a lovely day Phoenix clan
It isn't that spectacular tbh. Very solid wood. It just has "something" about it I think. It was in the first flat we rented, not on the inventory so moved with us because I was oddly in love with it. Turns out MRM is too
Poor MIl csws; we've just been in the same situation wih mil too, all clear now.
Table is lovely. Table makes me feel calm and happy. Table would look great in my front room.
not mil mrm, my mum.
Yes indeed eppm.
Oops, sorry csws, I totallty misread that somehow.
Off to wet seaside in a bit.
Great news abut shop2 Frizbe.
Very impressed with ds1 dry-nights, mrm. How was last night? Enjoy your weekend away.
Have fun at Flamingo Land Phoenix, it looks good.
csws - god news re dd. Is she feeling better?
@ your mum......Are you ok?
We are supposed to be going to the farm today, but weather looks dire, and I'm not really in the mood....
How have I failed so badly with DS? He listens to nothing. He has just tried to p*ss out of the kitchen window and got it all over the side. WHY??? I had dared to turn my back to find some washing. Why not use the f*ckin toilet like any other human being who has been out of nappies for any time at all??
As hard as I try to get the house sorted, he destroys something else.
I am tired.
I don't want to do it any more.
My mum said that with DH's week off she would help take kids away etc so we could get sorted. Week off finished today and they haven't been taken away once. If she hadn't offered then it wouldn't matter, but why offer and then not do it???
I'm at the stage of wanting a full breakdown just to escape.
Flame.
You know you haven't failed, don't you?
DS is just as bad, and I don't think I'm a bad parent, just a not-perfect one.
Sorry you've not had any support from your mum this week. I know how much worse it is when you think you'll get a break and don't, compared to just having to get on with it on your own.
A lot of this is depression talking I think. I sobbed on DH earlier that I miss my pills
. I know that this is what I want to do (medication-wise) for the baby, that it is only a few weeks to get through, but it doesn't stop me being hell
DS's main problem is boredom I think. Plus he knows he can act up more because I am not in a fit state to deal with him (he has gotten much much worse since I got pregnant and was so sick).
He will have 4 sessions of preschool and a whole day of nursery in just over a week - it should occupy him and tire him! <prays>
Fancy dress party on Saturday. DH is getting very carried away and spent nearly £10 on stuff to make his scars work (going as Joker). I managed to get a maxi dress cheap, so am going as pregnant Angelina - DH is spending Saturday drawing tattoos on me
Flame, ds2, I've only discovered the other day, has been pissing in thw sink instaed of the toilet. And he's just tried to launch himself off the hotel balcony. And I'm on the hotel pc ignoring it all. So chill
Flame- you haven't failed... he is just a 3yo! pissing out of the kitchen window takes some ingenuity if you ask me
wish I had a 3yo who would dare to do something like that- climbing over the head of her bed instead of getting out normally is what she considers adventurous
... it's about 15" high...
Plus he knows you are tired, and will play on that- term-time will help, definitely.
mrm- yours too? is this a boy thing, the peeing in inappropriate places? <groan>
Flame- you need some lip-cote stuff to make your lips all bee-stingy!
We went to Severn Valley Railway today, and had a lovely day- DD really enjoyed it, but even DS seemed v excited on the train
{{{Hugs}}} CSWS, tough times ahead
hope you doing ok. Glad dd is ok, bet that's a relief.
Flame, dh says he's a boy and they do that unless you're on their case all the time (which is no help what so ever I know)
I'll have UQD's latest book with me when I pop down, will try n remember to bring it over with me so you can take a look
Phoenix, you made me laugh with having to post where Flamingoland is and what it is, I just assumed everyone would know
tis a northern (ish in my case) thing!
MRM, well as you're not on the news I will assume ds has not made it over the balcony
sorry the store's not in London yet! give me time
Waves at EPPM and Jas and anyone else whose lurking.
As you may have guessed we're off to Christchurch this week, so maybe intermittently on here, possibly whilst at Flames
if she doesn't run screaming at the thought of us visiting
<<waves>> at Frizbe.
I have a spade shaped pen that I got from the severn valley railway when I was 5 or 6
No, not over balcony. Did nearly blow off the pier though.
Had to see emergency dentist yesterday, and made real appt for wed... either the tooth that broke off, or my wisdom tooth apparently. Whatever it is I'm in agony
and got anti viotics. And painkillers have no effect. Not good in wind!!
Running screaming, but mainly at the state of health hazard bathroom etc....
ds2 just took the key from breakfast table, ran back to ur room, locked himself in and couldnt open it
. Will be relaxing to go home today I think!!
Friz/phoenix anyone... we've got ~£20 of tescos coupons left (cashed in too mny as didnt realise adults ride free on the shitty kids rides)... do you want them? They can be used at that Flamingo Land! Or Camelot in Kettering, or a few other places I cant remember; have a look on tesco clubcard site and see what you think. Its not the ones for chessington etc, its the other ones. They are valid 6 months. Valid in Bournemouth but Flame didnt wantthhem.
Oooh mrm i'll have them if you def don't want them. I didn't have enough points to use ours cos we don't shop there anymore so don't get many points.
Email me your address and i'll bung them in the post.
You do know that Tesco will let you trade them back in don't you mrm, even if a little out of date?
Do they? I'm very suprised by that tbh. but Phoenix can havr them cos I said so
plus dont forget £20 of vouchers only was £5 of clubcard anyway
We're home btw.
Just thought don't you have to use them with the clubcard you got them with iykwim. You can trade them back in if you want
No, you just hand them in.
You can have them
Btw, ds2 was tall enough for the junior rides on the Friday but was too short on the SAturday
Ok thank you, i'll see if i've got your email if not i'll do it via Facebook
Ok, I've got your facebook messagew, and have even addressed the envelope already <organised saintly face>... alth its bank hol so you wont get it for a couple of days anyway!
Dh off getting us a takeaway as a conclusion to the holiday... its tradition! There's 16 people watching the 8track I put on ebay now, so I'm hoping the bidding will go up a bit at the last minute, fingers crossed (one day left).
Hows the bidding going mrm?
Ooops, 3 days left, not one! Itscos we've been on hool, I 've got no idea of daysand times now! Its still on £150
, but surely one of those 18 watchers will want to pay a bitmore. 150 ws the reserve anyway, and better than nothing. Will pay off about a quarter of what we're over drawn every month, for this month.
I somehow completely missed reading about your mum CSWS (was thinking the
faces were about the holiday issue iyswim). Hope you're doing ok.
September is far too close to October. You do know that don't you? Not helped by HangingBellyOfBabylon (local) being 4 weeks ahead of me, and she had a baby yesterday
Look how Meridian's DH made me look! here.
Right, off to box up some nappies. I have read everything and forgotten it all
bloody hell flame, I've just seen those pics. I dont look half that good and I'm supposed to be reasonably fit and healthy and def not pg
Posted vouchers phoenix... on way to dentist,,, luckily not on way back. Need tooth out as expected, 4 injectiuons all failed to numb. agony as he pulled the nerve out, and got half way through gouging out the root, ythen had to stop as too much pain. Couldnt do it. Gotta wait for an appt somewhere in Tottenham to do it under sedation, but gos knows how long
. Am on mage strenth pain killres from chemist (note he didnt prescribe me anthing) but i~ cant tkae much more. Where shalli go??
I have no idea what to suggest
Out of hrs dr for prescription painkillers?
Pics are lovely Flame
DP is on his way to hosp to visit fil....not expected to live much longer
He has taken dd1 with him.
oh no Jas. Did dd2 not want to go, or you think she's a bit little? Just curious.
Am in the semi jhappy land of major drugs
Dh got me an emerganct prescription from the hgospital last night. They last about 4 hours but I can only take them every 6
. He's taken today off but gone to the gym
, gonna get him to call dentist when back (I cant talk properly!) nand see if they can hurry the referal as I 'm so scared of running out o teblets before the appt comes through. And also i dont reallt like to live off drugs.
No, more the practicalities of the 2 seater van to get to the hospital!
DD1 is a bit teary, dd2 is not apparently bothered at all.
He is no worse today, and dp wants to take ds tomorrow (won't stay long. He hates hospitals and I think he is partly glad of the children as an excuse not to stay very long)
Back to school today
No nursery for anther week though,.
I hope you get your tooth sorted soon (my recmmendation would be t suffer for 8 hours during the day so you can take the pain killers 4 hourly at night! Depends what they are if this is safe though.)
Good plan if I thought I could sufefer for 8 hours with two kids at large!
Juat been asleep for 3 hours; they really knock me out; slighlty worried how that will work with dh back to work tomo.
When does school/ nursery start?
School Monday, nursery THursday.
Sorry to hear about fil Jas.
And ouch for teeth mrm.
Thanks Mrm, the vouchers came today
. Hope you get your teeth sorted sooner rather than later.
Sorry to hear about FIL Jas and your mum csws (sorry i didn't say that before
)
Ds1 is back at pre school on Monday. I can't wait cos he's really testing my patience lately. He's going for 4 mornings instead of 2 but only mon, tue, thurs next week cos we go to Cornwall for a week on Fri, can't wait.
Ds2 has got his 1st lot of jabs on Monday. I can't believe he is 8wk old tomorrow
.
Jas- v sorry to hear about FIL
mrm- hope mouth is being sorted.
DD went back yesterday- she was so excited... she has missed it a lot.
Phoenix
NO! that is not possible!
How? I love that photo of him grinning btw- just gorgeous
Still drugged up, but I left an hour before the min time for next dose, and it wasnt overly unbearable this time. She says hopefully. Really looking forawrd to dh getting home at 7 tho, I must admit.
cornwall
That reminds mt phoenix, must rebook ds2's appt for boosters now his spots have gone! Someone remind me please.
Actually had a night without taking painkillers half way through
Back to the 'normal' tooth pain rather than the trauma of the failed injections type pain, thank god. Just hangig on for my rreferral now. Dh reckons I shouldnt do the Hyde Park 5km tomo tho, but i love that one, I always do it, even my biopsy didnt stop me last year. I just donrt know what to do. I'm very unfit after 2 eeeks off exercise, but I could jog it at least.
The ebay thing ended last night... dh got £241
. Thats gonna pay for ds1's school dinners this term (£70) and maintenence fund (£80) and make our overdraft this month a bit smaller! Oh and I got a National Geographic projector for ds1's birthday, less han half price in Argos; £10.36. He's going to love it! Ds2 will be giving him a British Museum Ancient Eygpt stamper kit thing that I got brand new in the charity shop for £3.50 , and we have a few chhose-your-own-adventure type books for him from book People (pac kof 10 but splitting so some for friends for xmas too).
And did you see that boots thread; pricing error on Office website... £125 boots going for £43 inc postage. I've ordered some cos my Mum says I can have them as my xmas present
Just gotta hope they honour he price now!!
Don't forget to book ds2s jabs, mrm

I did it! I did this years Hyde Park 5km with an achinh face, dosed up to the eyeballs and full of coffee to counter the sleepiness from the drugs. I brgan bleeding at about 3.5km so walked for 2 mins, but still managed to do ir in exectly 30mins
Quite pleeased with myself
. And boys happy... park, picnic, nat hist museum afer!
Well done
you mad woman, you!
But did you book ds2s injections?
you are insane.... you know that right?????
Et, not quite Jas, but I have thought about it! Will pop in and do it tomo I think.
Got my appt for the 'emergency' dental thing.... 5th October
. I think I might have to see if there's another option.
Well don't say I didn't remind you....
Other option will be £££
My friends ds needed a tooth pulled and she had to pay £100+ or make him wait a month
5th October?!?!?!
I am a tad concerned... I feel weird. The kind of weird I felt the night before I went into labour with DD.
Thinking hot bath and doing NOTHING is a wise move!
When are you due?
An early one would be nice (assuming you aren't due in November)
5 weeks to go? Maybe a bit of a rest would be good
Yup, 5 1/2 weeks, so still a leeeeetle too early for my liking. DH is now on child duty whilst I stay still
But Jas, I'm paying for this anyway; no NHs here.
N NHS....she got her ds seen the next day when paying, so a month wait is definitely excessive!
Was that with sedation?
I think he's just refering me there cos they have some kind of arrangement, but I'm a naturally suspicious person!
You need to get pregnant mrm, then your dentistry would be free
. Well done on run.
Sending calming 'do nothing' vibes flame.
Dd's pre-school booster tomorrow.
I could go with Falme and ptetend we are one person
Er, yeah, get pg...
1.Dh is snipped
2.I dont like kids
3.Kids cost more over all
4.You cant get most of the stuff doner whilst pg that I need doing anyway, so I couldnt take advantage
See if Flame had had her baby you could pretend to be her and have it done free......
poss not wrth 5 weeks early though.
Yes it was in hospital under GA, as non- co-operative 6 yr old. Only difference by paying was waiting time - same hospital, same drs, same treatment.
I have an orthodontist appt for dd1 this week - we will see if her teeth are going to be bad enough to qualify for free treatment.
csws - I saw you being quoted as a "wise old bird" on a thread today
Whats the chances of combining dd1's appt with my needs<desperatey clutches at straws>?
Not sure an orthodontist would do you much good tbh.
MRM - go on the I'm not a slut or whore thread and back the woman with the pole up (obv leave out that you clearly are a slut and a whore^
<ducks>)
Link pls,cant be arsed looking.
Lol, I found it on active before I came and saw your link
love you tho
Was it a current thread Jas, or an old one? (link if current please as search not finding it!)
Lol at slutty pants advising on poles - might go nose at thread.
Jealousy is a terrible thing csws
Someone was mourning the lack of you on a thread the other day too CSWS (and they told on you for going to The Other Place
)
Just guessing I'm sure. Everyone who isn't on as much gets accused these days.
I never search for posts about myself, but maybe I should start.
At least I'd search if my 'advanced search' button hadn't disappeared
Found it, and the guilty party is from this thread.
<mrm feels guilty even though she's fairly certain she hasnt said anything about csws of any sort>
No, not you mrm.
THats a relief. Why is it I always assume guilt?
Spill the beans then, who was mean and what 4exactly did they say? <witch hunt>

It was a nice quote on a pregnancy thread (Lissie) I think it is the wise old bird description that caused the
face! It made me a bit
as I thought it was probably the same Teuch from here.....
I'm sorry- it was me
, but I had no idea it was a secret
It has been discussed openly on m oldie threads (VVVQV was most recent one here).
I've asked MNHQ to delete my post csws. It certainly wasn't meant in a mean manner, mrm.
What was you?
It is the same teuch Jas. I have no objection to being called a wise old bird
.
Don't worry about it eppm. I know that it wasn't meant meanly at all. I did say when you guys were all here that I wasn't making it common knowledge, but you were in a post-birth fug, so I'll let you off
. I'm familiar with vvv's comment, but it doesn't actually say that I am.
And obviously I'm not really
.

Went to collect DD from school, and she had decided to take herself to gym club. I had told her last night and this morning that she wasn't going today (I know she heard as she argued the toss). Got there just as she was going in and knew it would be more stress than it was worth to drag her back out. Means I didn't get anything done in the last 2 hours as I had to sit there (I didn't have the energy to piss about driving home and back, unloading DS etc).
She is trying to say I never told her not to go, and yet when I tried to get her back she said "But I wanted to go". Grrrrrrr
I'd try and tell the teacher as well as her next time, so she doesn't get the opportunity to get changed, I think.
I don't think mine would dare try it though....they know I would go in and get them out!
CSWS - Not keen on old bird as a description myself. That is why I noticed it.
I've never really taken any interest in the whole Mouldie thing. Don't look at the threads r even think about it tbh.
Are you feeling ok today Flame (apart from child-induced stress)?
Yup, much more normal again.
Turns out threatening to cut off DS's manhood is much more scary when you inadvertently have scissors in your hands at the time

I only decided after school yesterday about gym, and there is no way to see the teacher in the morning (without going inside, upstairs, and dragging DS at the same time). DD is sensible enough to be trusted to remember. Just wilful enough to ignore me
at scissors. Feeling a bit hormonal then?
DD1 has to apply for senior school in less than 6 weeks
We only really have one choice
so I'm trying to do my best to make it sound a positive thing for her, whilst losing sleep over it...
she can't be old enough for that!!! I've seen some crappy schools round here turn out great kids, it will be fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine
Although saying that... we all have to apply for proper school soon don't we?!!?
Slightly hormonal and just want the git to SLEEP at night (he keeps using wee as a stalling tactic).
Lol jas; I ignore 99% of mn and come on here totaly blinkered, so not being up to date with the mouldies thing is nothing!
You know, I have a friend who got a plasce at a 'good' school and felt so uncomfortable with it that she turned it down in favour of a 'bad' school, very happy, kid very happy,. I know its not alwys like that, but you never know how things'll tun our.
Flame, I could quite happily massacre both boys, so dont think you're alone! ds1 refusing to go to bed dtill and then tired in morning, says he hates year one is is never going back. ds2 has learnt to be not tired and refuse to go to bed, so that cuts into ds1's homework time
I've already applied for Ds1's school place. I did it online last week. I got the application form through the post yesterday. We've got 3 schools in our village, 1 is very near in walking distance. The other 2 are still probably in walking distance but quite a lot further than the other. I've applied for - 1. The nearest one, 2. A brand new built school, 3. The one in a bit of a rough area but school has good reports. Would prefer choice 1 or 2
Mouldie stuff is completely over my head too. Couldn't care less
They cant be that far away if its a village lol.
now, I know I've done the school interest applications, but you know when you start doubting yourself in a panic?! And the LEA form I think is Oct/Nov iirc. I'm just hoping ds2 gets a place through sibling criteria,. altho it doesnt always happen. I cant face th thought of 2 kids in 2 diff achools. Esp as the other one is not as goos as our one. Should be ok, but I keep remembering ds1; remeber he was thr onmly nursery child that didnt get in to our school, and he only got a last mu=in place when someone else didnt do their form correctly..
We should be ok for school. Something to do with a baby boom in 2006 means that they are having to go up to 3 classes a year in some schools in the area - ours is one of those, and where they still do both location and sibling preference, it should all work out. Would be less good if we were staying as one of the smaller schools.
DS should get a sibling place as dd2 will still be at the junior school when he starts. We can't apply for a few more weeks yet though.
I'm feeling slightly better about dd1s school options today....the only other school she has a reasonable chance of getting into (better reputation, exam results high enough to keep it off special measures, but a bus ride away, which we would have to pay for) has got lower exam results than our local one this year!
DS is also a non-sleeping boy. Up til 10 most nights recently, and waking early with odd dreams.
DS is currently completely dandruff free... used up an entire bottle of head and shoulders (why exactly DH didn't put it away before putting him in the bath, I have no idea), cried lots when his eyes stung and then at having to have 10,0000000 bubbles washed out.
Just picked DD up from first session of Rainbows - she loved it
lol, ds2 got through a good half a bottle of christian dior aftershave this morning. Dh doesnt know yet. It was a xmas present from a friend and he 'saves it for best'
I was pleased - DS was very generous with his use of this hideous aftershave of DH's a while back
(It smells like old men)
Ds1 came home from pre school on monday with soap in his hair. He told the staff he'd done it because his hair was stuck up
I used dh's v stinky aftersave to put down thew tpoilet after the boys had done horrible poos once
I remember collecting DS from nursery and them informing me that he was in different clothes from where he had decided to wash his hair in the sinks.... and the hair of 2 other children
Do you remeber when I took ds1 for a look round a prospective nursery, and another child painted the ENTIRE FRONT of ds1 with orange paint?! Cornerred him and did it in the blink of an eye virtually
lol at all of your horror stories.
mrm - how much roughly would a used original grobag go for at a car boot sale? Just trying to work out whether it's worth ebaying them or not.
Depends were really. Swanley Bar... £3? Edgware...£1.50?
Ah, might as well chance ebay then. Thanks.
Ello you lot
what have I missed out on then, since my little trip south?
All good here, have skip read the last few posts, guess I'd better go apply for school then and pray dd2 gets into the same one as dd1
be fun if she doesn't eh.....mind you we have a friend of ours teaching reception at my 2nd choice, so that could be fun
at all your horror stories too, am being thankful we've not had any orange paint horror stories lately. Though do you remember the time I was BF dd2, whilst the Manhattan Toy rep was round and dd1 fell down our two steps from the decking and trashed her face, oh boy that was fun
'picture friz attempting to run across room with baby on boob and maintain modesty, whilst rescuing bloody and whimpering dd1...)well I saw the rep today for the 1st time in ages, and we both had a good laugh about it
(dd1 did ok out of it too, she got a free groovy girl to make herself feel better!)
ooh see you posted whilst I was doing stuff!
I ebayed our grobags and did quite well on them, so defo a vote for ebay here
loads of people asked if the thermometers came with them too, so be prepared.
The thermometeres?! Jeez.
ebay will get you more omney, but omg its such a hassle these days; too many stupid new rules and charges. I hate that new thing that the most you can charge for postage on books is 2.75 even if the books weigh a ton. And you cant leave neg feedback for a buyer even if they were a nightmare.
Oh yeah, I did mean to say hello Friz

Hello friz.
Can those of you with boys suggest ideal 1st birthday presents for one please?
God, I cant remeber either of them being 1
Erm, I think ds1 had those tomy quack-a-long ducks. ds2 still loves his scuttlebug even now its way too small for him, and and those red plsatic motorbikes from elc are a good 'in advance' thing. Playdough? Chunky garage; basically anything you can shove wheeled things in and out of, th more ramps and doors the better.
Anything bashable.
Doing happy dance here. Gas bill going down by £18 a month
- and it is accurate n everything!
Ooh and I bought a bump band so I am not falling out of my top any more. Best £5 I have spent in ages!
How have you managed to get it down?
Think I recall an ?elc thing with 3 chunky vehicles and 3 places to shove them in order to make a noise. RThat was a popular one.
They were charging me an extortionate amount all last year, it had to come down really!
Our gas and electricity have both gone up by a long way as they were charging us a stupidly low amount since we changed to them.
We had that before - another reason for the drop as we had been on repayment mode.
Offering stuff on freecycle "when would be the best time to come and have a look?" Erm, no, take the crap away, look and then do what you want with it. I'm not a bloody jumble sale!
We got through 4 days. Day 5 we're back to the whinging argumentative morning brat.
What you giving away? <pikey face who hopes its nothing I want!>
First one much more attractive, second one more age appropriete (not that it matters getting thigs erly, but it just scuppers their appreciation of the next birthday iyswim!). But omg £75 on one garage???
But it's lush isn't it?! Maybe next year. Watching a used mega bloks table on ebay now.
Combine your ideas by getting a plastic garage? Whizz around mountain thing elc? The elc wooden garages nice too. While you're looking, keep your eyes ouyr for a wooden zoo that doesnt cost the earth? ds1 eallt really wants one for some reason! Its got to have a moonkey cage tho
Or the little tikes road to rail set? ds1 loved that, its got tunnels etc. The only thing is that they tend to break up the track and want you to reassemble it. Every two minutes. Superglue.
Or the little people noah's ark lasted a long time in interest terms.
Nothing you want unless you now have a school aged girl, or are planning on getting knocked up again
Well, ds1 thinks he might like to be a model now
but that doesnt make him a girl! And yuck yuck no more babies ever thank you...
Didn't your boys have a sodor island too mrm? Not that he's seen Thomas yet, but he might do if he ever gets to take over the tv from dd.
Yep, ds2 had it for xmas off freecycle remember?
Tbh, he prefered the wooden traintrack. In fact, they both still play with that alot.
No much good with young boy toys CSWS, sorry, can say that the dd's have been playing with some puzzibits from Manhattan Toy rep today and are loving them
www.puzzibits.com/
Having a small family crisis here today, which I appear to have been lomped with over the weekend, not too happy about that.
Short story is my nan (95) walked into her local police stn this am, claiming that my Auntie has been kidnapped (she's on holiday, which my nan should be aware of) thus my dad had to go and retrieve her
whilst assuring police he wasn't telling lies. Meanwhile my auntie has left no contact numbers, I can't get hold of any cousins and my parents go away for 3 days tomorrow, so guess who gets the job of granny sitting
Gran refused to go and see Dr/Social Services this afternoon, so we have to wait until next week, when they'll come to her...she's also seeing dirt everywhere, which we think is her cateracts getting worse (dr's won't operate she's too old) and is thinking people are going into her house as well
looks like I'm in for a fun weekend......
How's it going Frizbe - anyone else been kidnapped?
I have spent the day attempting to sort my pit bedroom. I think it does actually now look worse than when I started, but have sorted all the nappies so we have a pile of newborns ready, done loads of washing and sending of stuff to charity shops (again - none any good to you MRM so stop looking all mournful
). Still soooooooo much to do, but sooooooooooo tired!
Now thinking of this.
That looks good
That does look god csws. DS still pays with something similar to that when we are out, so it may have a long life, too.
I hope all is quiet with the granny-sitting today Frizbe.
fil is apparently getting better - he is now able to speak (was so breathless he couldn't for a few days) but not willing to try and get out of bed
DP is losing patience with him
He's said things I've thought but never voiced before in the last few days.
I've lost motivation to do anything around the house at the moment - now I've got a bedroom, I am just enjoying the space rather than doing anything to it for a while.
I've had to clamp the gate shut on ds' door. He can now open all types of gate, but will not stay in his room/bed if he can get out, and I just get cross after putting him back 20 times so he is locked in (and went straight to sleep).
Ours is tied up until they fall asleep every night Jas. Gave up a good 12 months ago trying to keep him in there.
for DH and FIL issues
DP even
Well that's an unexpected recovery for fil Jas. Should I be hoping for a full recovery or not?
Sorry friz - was wrapped up in present searching earlier so didn't comment on your post. Hope the day with your nan hasn't been too draining.
He just didn't try and open it for ages, but the day after I made dp drill holes in a rather nice wooden door frame to fit it to the new bedroom, he just opened it and it has been awful since then trying to find a way to keep it shut, but let dd2 get in still.
Difficult to say, csws. I don't think so, but who knows how long he will hang on for.....
Lol at you tying your kids into their rooms... I think I might have to tie ds2 to ds1 when we're out
Driving me inasne with this running off phase. I know its not funny friz, but I couldnt help a snigger at the scenario in the police station!
So, today we went to kids club at Odean... Bedtime Stories.. I really enjoyed it! £9 for all 3 of us to get in, including a snack bag for the boys each (drink, popcorn, choc or raisins). Not bad given the normal cimema price thesedays <sounding like old woman>
Then been v good this pm; done clay models and 3d pictures
csws, ds2 found something called Retro Robot in elc today and he loved it, might be worth you consifering. Also interesting that they both played alot with that whizz around garage (in pink mind you). Then ds1 gave everynoe e erndition of his own composition on keyboard, called 'I am professor poopypants'
DH took them to see that yesterday
did he like it?
ds1 wanrs a bloody hamster now cos there was a guinea pig in it
He seemed to - said it was typical Sandler by child oriented. They both seemed quite taken with the hamster/guinea pig too.
Was Dude's first time in the cinema. Toy story 3D is out in a few weeks - I just hope I'm capable of taking him... I really wanna see the awe of him and Woody on big screen
Because the guinea pig had huge eyes, so you cant not like it!
Yeah it was twee, but compared to sitting through Bolt or Space Chimps or whatever, it was good! Not as good as Aliens in the Attic tho. Andwsa bit old for ds2 really. But he is improving vastly; only went for wee twice, and moved chairs twice!
That's the bit I hate about cinemas with two kids, always at the loo, mainly with dd2, mind you she was good during HSM which was the last thing we took her to see, so might try her again soon.....
Jas, sorry to hear about partners dad....its a toughie.
CSWS like the link, looks good
Granny wasn't too bad to look after actually, its her sight going that's bothering her the most and its getting her upset, but her short term memory is defo on the blink/way out now too, we sat and did a load of cards for peoples birthdays this week,(she had them all out ready for me to help her with) whilst dh and the kids played in the garden, then took her to the shops and posted them n got some food in for us/her. I rang my auntie yesterday, when she got back and filled her in (my message for my cousin had gone to her ansa tel, as he's not told his work his own home no
) so with that and my dad on there she knew there was a spot of bother! The first thing she said was that nan had already done the cards with her week before too! so everyone is getting double cards this year
possibly for the last time? as I'm not sure she'll survive a move? we'll see, Auntie n Dad can sort it out this week, but she sure can't stay on her own....
she's nearly 96 though, so has done very well so far.
fil died this morning
Jas
gosh jas that wasn't very in keeping with the recovery that he was making. Condolences to your family.
Jas- I'm very sorry to hear that.
Jas, sorry to hear that too.
Thanks all. I think the recovery was a perk-up-to-say-goodbye type thing.
I now have a funeral to arrange, and dps family to deal with, in addition to very tearful dds and an angry dp.....
Why angry dp Jas?
He had an unusual relationship with his dad, and I think it is a grief reaction.
Added to the fact that his sister has not offered to help pay for the funeral after fil virtually cleared all his bank accounts over the past few months, and left nothing, not even a will.
Has something happened to mn? It looks like the entire thread is in bold....or is it my computer?
Ok. Not just me....all pn and single parent threads.
Well, I'm feeling slightly calmer....have given dp and his sister a few funeral options t consider. I am going out with ds for the day tomrrow, so will see what they want when I get back.
I'll be an expert at this by the end of the week.
My parents were burgled yesterday
. Just as well n one is sick!
Oooh - I got vouchers for a day at a spa for my birthday
, including a treatment and lunch....for two
Just what I need right now.
When's your birthday Jas?
Which spa? How excellent! I'm going for my massage on 17th Oct with my friend that I gave the prize to. Cant wait! An hour madsage then a cream tea.
This bold is all v irksome.
It was her 40th a couple of days ago mrm - you really should check facebook more often!
Yay for spa.
for burglary.
Oooh. I saw a thread complaining about boldness last night, and mine were fine then
I quite like it.
Warning to everyone - I have entered the evil bitch "get it out of me NOW" stage (yes, I know... how can I differentiate between that and the rest of pregnancy?
).
<<pokes head round corner>>
I've just completed BabyDragon's primary school application
<<skips out in anticipation of Sept 2010>>
Jas! Happy belated birthday
Sorry about parents though.
<skips with Soupdragon having done the same thing>
Are we supposed to be applying now? Don't we get sent a form?
Do you apply csws? or is this a 'just in case' place? was wondering about that myself... we don't get the stuff until october though
We're sending her to the village state school EPPM, so yes, we do need to apply.
Sorry if this posts loads of times i'm on my phone (from Cornwall). I applied for ds1's school place online on sept 1st. I didn't get the letter and form til the middle of last week but i could do it online without it.
for those lo's starting in sept '10, ds won't start til jan '11 here. Sorry to hear about fil jas

@ multiple posting Phoenix....hope you are having a good time.
We will get forms (with a ref no to apply online, but it varies by county csws.)at the end of Sep for school applications. Can't do it before October here. Check your cc web site for dates if you are worried they might have missed you.
For csws, from (I think) your county website....
"In November 2009 a letter will be sent to all parents/carers who have been identified as having children of the appropriate age, inviting them to apply for a primary school place online or to request a booklet from our Customer Service Centre (CSC). If parents/carers have not received the letter by the end of November they should contact the CSC on 0300 123 4043 to request a booklet.
You will be able to apply from 16 November 2009 and the application deadline is 29 January 2010. We recommend that you apply online.
"
Hope you're having a good holiday Phoenix!
Is the thread bold on your phone????
csws- sorry, hadn't realised there had been a change of plan...is this due to the downturn, or was the school not what you expected?
Should I apply for a state school place for dd do you think?
Does this mean I have to do open days etc?
Have you done open days Phoenix... surely there haven't been any yet? (am not asking Jas/mrm, as I'm assuming theirs are going to the older childrens' schools)
Under what circs would you not send dd t a state school EPPM? TBH if you are confident in your current choice and circs, I wouldn't bother.
Infant schools don't seem t have open days like the seniors do (here at least)....you can contact the local schools direct and ask for info/guided tour. You also have slightly longer to apply (I have to have applied for dd1 by end October).
I am crossing everything that ds will get in as a sibling as they aren't in our catchment school, and I really don't want to have him at the school on the main rad in the opposite direction to the dds.
Thanks Jas (N Herts I assume). I haven't heard from any of my friends that they've had letters yet, so I'd assumed that it wasn't just a case of me being overlooked.
EPPM - dh now had no work for 8 months, which is the main reason, but also feel it might be a bit unfair on ds to have to spend an hour in the car twice a day doing the school run. We'll see how she gets on in village, and consider moving them both to the private one (which we adore!) when ds is school aged, if work is good for dh.
Herts, can't remember a N. Not hard to find and check at some point though.
CSWS - Save your money for secondary school....
Jas- I suppose I am worried in case she would have to leave her current school, and places being what they are round here, then she would be without a school place, possibly for a very long time (I know of children being offered schools 3 miles away- unbelievable in a city with 300 primary schools
)
School run is a nightmare though... and I feel so guilty about DS being in the car for 2.5 hours a day
so I'm with you on that one csws
Unless you are going to move her in September, that could be a problem at any time though.
Why not phone round, look, apply and then refuse the place when offered if you don't need it. You may discover the perfect local state infant, love it and be offered a place....
<jas wanders off into fantasy world where there is no war, and all children go to lovely schools they can walk to....>
Well we would need to 'get religion' for that... so not very likely!
(the walking bit)
Oh I cant wait til ds2 can manage the whole walk to school. We;;, he can do the distance, but not without zso many distractions that it takes about an hour
He's learnt a new fave expression... 'I dont want to', said in voice that implies this is a valid reason for nything and everything.
Lesson learnt yesterday... if you've onlt done one 5km run in about 3 weeks dues to hold and teeth probs, donr be suprised when a 5km run and 3 hours of aerbobic classes on one day is hard
!
Because the rest of the time its just not hard at all....
Its nver hard enough to make me want o give up and go for a steam instead!
Guess what we're doing? Making xmas cards
What happens if we do bold on here?
oh... nothing
Ooh bold is gone.
Stepmum is getting a new harley, and has been fiddling with dad's status saying how he loves her and wants her to have x one. I left a comment saying did he also love me and want me to have new things. She has replied saying no to buying new things, I am getting a new baby
. It started out jokey, but knowing they spend a small fortune on my step sisters etc, that has hurt
.
Why can I never just accept the situation with them and move on?
Now when you said new bike, I thought push bike, not a HARLEY
tight gits for not spending owt on you {{hugs}}
Can't apply till end of Oct for school here, which is a shame as I went away all fired up to do it!
Jas, sorry you having to sort all the funeral stuff out
n {{{hugs}}} Happy Belated Birthday, sorry I don't keep up much with facebook
EPPM no open days here, but you can call school to look around.
MRM
at you being so tired after a mere 3 classes and a 5k run, I'll just sit down with a cup of tea and contemplate that for a minute
Waves at CSWS and Phoenix, hope you're both good
Dd1's school is lovely so I'm hoping dd2 can get in, its only infants, they then have to move upto the junior, but it's a great start for them. That been said local ejjit kids (teenage and bored) have been vandilising it this week, apparently the head caught them in the act last night and managed to see them off, but this week alone they've broken the kids play train (specially built in the playground) and burnt the gazeebo down, and the place is overlooked by houses as well
Oh dooo lally gran update, she rang my mum this am all worried as my auntie hadn't arrived back at home last night, mum pointed out that she'd taken auntie home, that she doesn't live with my nan anymore and hasn't for about 40 years
tis not a good sign is it....they managed to get her into Dr's yesterday and they're making an appt to get her assessed......
Frizbe - Has gran been getting slowly more confused and you've noticed more now because aunt was away or is it a recent change?
If it at all sudden, make sure gp rules out infections etc, as things like utis often cause confusion and memory loss in elderly people and are easily treated.
Flame
Try and let it go...you can't make other people into something they aren't. Even family. You have your own lovely family to concentrate on now. Take care.
Ooh yes - things like very bad wee infections can cause severe confusion.
The dad thing always comes back to the same - if he paid my DC half the attention he does the others, things like spending money wouldn't be an issue.
I am exhausted. Woke up at 2.45am feeling very sick with stomach and back ache. Had nice irregular aches for most of the night (plus the feeling sick), so sod all sleep. Now just left with feeling sick from tiredness.
I won a comp!!! £100 voucher for frugi (the cut 4 cloth people)
A prize I actually NEED!
Yay - perfect flame!
f#lame, thats brilliant! I'm chuffed for you
So, poll please.... do I or dont I do the 10km run I'm entered for tomo?
In favour... I want to get my medal and goody bag, I like runs, I'll feel very bad if I miss out, I've never done this course before, there's a great playarea for the kids so it'll be a day out,I also think its good for them to see me exercising in a role-model kinda thing, and I know I'll make it round eventually.
Against...I'm not fit and well out of training (only done 2 runs and 3 classes in about 3 weeks) so I'll be slow and possibly even have to walk parts
, a 10km is much harder than a 5km and the people that enter are of a higher ability in general, my temporary filling fell out today so I'm kind of expecting pain at some point again, its a very hilly course, and its 2 laps of 5km so a bit demoralising second time round.
Yay Flame. Perfect timing.
mrm- no.
I'm doing it.
Nutter
I knew you would. I was surprised you even asked an opinion.
I hope it goes ok
Well I wasnt at all sure I would!
So. Done it. Very badly
. Wasnt even the tooth, was just the fact that I havent been training
. I finished it of course, but bloody 1hr 5 mins
. Thats at least 6 mins too slow for an ok time, not even a good time. It was nice to see ds1 on the top of the climbing frame waving though!
And all that effoert for no goodie bag
All we got was a schoo lbar and a medal and water. Raking through the freebies is half the fun of races!
ANyway, I saw an ad for another 10km in November, so I 'm going to look it up and see if that might br a god incentive. Rainforests. There's a 1km for kids, but ds1 not sure he wants to do it.
We hired a rowing boat for half hour after; boys loved it
No goody bag?!!?!? That's crap
No goody bag is seriously crap
good on your for doing it though, hope you don't ache too much tomorrow. Go for the next one, you know you like doing them
I've not rowed in ages, its good fun eh
Jas, how's things?
Flame, {{Hugs}} for the feeling sick, n sorry for the sideways bubba again, get on all fours for the evening me dears, see if the little nutmeg goes the right way up for coming out again.
So, what's everyone else upto this weekend?
me, I had a row with my dad today, as he's in ostritch mode regarding his mum, who was found wondering around her neighbourhood very early this am and the chap who thankfully was an older gentleman himself and nice, took her home, to a house that was left wide open, all windows and door and table set for dinner for 4....
she's been admitted to hospital tonight and good advice from Jas, as she has been diagnosed with a water infection
but unfortunatley they also think its something else too, as it has come on relatively suddenly, she's not even recognising my auntie and uncle at the moment.....(possible its the cancer, have feeling that's what they're checking) but anyway she's in good hands now.....hope my dad has gone into see her (mum was trying to drag him there, as she doesn't want his sister to have to deal with it all herself etc) gah families eh!
Frizbe - I hope the hospital can help your gran. At least she will be safe in hospital while they find out what is causing it.
I didn't know you were supposed to get a goody bag when you did a race. Obviously not done it myself.
Well I was supposed to be getting a coffin delivered to the house today. It didn't come. I really hope there isn't a problem. I've arranged the entire thing for Wednesday (I eventually found a funeral director willing to give me the advice and guidance to do it all ourselves) but no coffin would be a major problem, and nothing I can do abut it now til Monday.
DP is stressed (won't admit it, claims it is all physical and unrelated to his dad) and irritable. DD2 is 9 on Friday, so I'm also organising the party we had already sent the invites out for, too.
I do try not to wish away the days, normally, but I just want next week over with tbh.
Ooooh {{{{{Big Hugs}}}}}}} Jas, you've taken on a lot getting it all sorted out yourselves (but can understand why for cost) If its the big coffin manufacturers in Nottm you've ordered from, let me know, as uncle works there and can chase them up.
Hospital have said gran won't be going back to her own home, this much they do know
for gran, but its what she needs. They're observing her for a few days and waiting on results, are particularly interested in her skin cancer it seems.....
for gran Friz, but
that she's in the best place for her for the time being.
Sorry that you have such a lot on your plate again at the moment Jas. Is there anything that we can do to help?
Also knew you'd run mrm. I didn't know that you got goodie bags either, but sorry that you didn't this time. Still sounds bloody fast to me!
Had lovely weekend here with another mumsnetter and her family visiting. Dd actually managed her first sleepover where the guest didn't have to move to another room in order for them to get to sleep!
OMG Jas, what on earth you goonnna do if no coffin appears? Well done for sorting things out though. My Mum sent me a cut-out from a magazine costing out funerals just so I know for hers
. Ok some things you can do nothing about, but they'd listed £350 for butties afterwards
. Somehow I think our budgetr will be slightly smaller when the time comes.
I've got boxing thisafrenoon, and I'm so achy from classes yest, cos of bring unfit now after time off. Never taking that long off again
not sure what to do when tooth gfets done.
Huge relief....coffin is here, and dp has arranged a second non-flappy man to go to the hospital and collect his dad on Wed.
mrm, we are only paying for the things we are legally obliged to do, and it will cost £800.
Which means dp can go out and buy a few rounds on his dad for anyone who wants afterwards, instead of us having to borrow the money to pay for it from my parents.
How's your gran doing now Friz? Hoping treatment is making her a bit more lucid if nothing else.
Jas - you're going through so much, and there is sod all I can do
My mum set up her whole funeral (and paid for it) a couple of years back, me, my sister, and my dad have a card with a number on to call and they just take over apparently. Boy's family will be a very different story.
When your tooth is fixed properly MRM it will just be a couple of days (are they fixing it or just taking the thing out?) won't it? None of this lingering stuff.
I am in bitch mood from hell today. I am considering divorce just to make his life easier...
mrm-
at mum...
but cannot believe you went rowing straight after a run!
Friz-sorry to hear about your gran, hope she responds well to treatment though.
Jas- thank goodness coffin arrived... what a horrible situation, I hope dp is starting to come to terms with it soon.
Flame- sorry for mood... but I loved the video on your fb- seen before, but goodness, those giggles.. reminds me of csws' video of ds a few months back...
csws- glad weekend was nice... is dd actually improving on the whole sleep concept thing? mine is a little better weekdays- because she just conks out after nursery!
We are struggling with enough sleep here... teething going on... and DS learned how to screech at the top of his voice, and he LOVES to practice... wahey!
He's also slightly obsessed with the hedgehog wall sticker above dd's bed, and tries to talk to it in the middle of the night when he's feeding
Oh... and he's started growling at the windchime in the kitchen, which for some reason he is a little disturbed by- he sort of snuggles into me/dh, puts on a brave face, growls, then looks all scared and hides his face in our shoulder... odd lad!
He's gonna remeber that hedgehog forever you know. I still remeber obscure things like that.
To clarify, yes my Mum is insane, but there is a kind of logic, as she's been sending me funeral money every now and then for a couple of years (didnt want it in hr account incase it affected her benefits, although its only a grand, so not surte it would, as she only gets lowe level DSA anyway, plus pension credit).
Hurray for coffin, if thats the right thing to say. But you know what I mean
Flame, i'm sure you're not that bad. Although after 6 years, dh has finally decided to tell me what a living hell it was when I was pg, and how he almost couldnt take any more of me
Why wouldnt I go rowing after a run? It wasnt immediately anyhow, it was after a wee and kids icecream
Feeling happpier today after boxing; such a good way to let off steam
But ran out of time, literally, so could only do 20min run after.
lol @ wee
I know what you mean about the hedgehog... I still remember things like stickers on my cotbed... he does love it, and is always pawing it, and trying to jabber at it... but he also 'likes' a picture we have up of dd's footprint when she was a baby... so you know, they're still fairly indiscriminate at this age!
ctually, you've just made me remeber that upstairs I have a picture me and my Mum made when I was 3 or 4... she got a bot of plywood and we painte it green and brown, then she drew a hedgehog shape on and I stuck loadfs of rug wools onto it. Er, i know that means nothing to you, but its one of the best craft things I have from my childhood
. Oh and the Airfix robins-on-a-branch, ans an ashtray I made in reception
That sounds really nice
My auntie jean has had a major stroke
She was one of my gran's best friends (so that sort of "auntie" iyswim). Lovely lovely lady. When we told my gran about B, she turned round and said "well at least you're happy about it", when we told Auntie Jean she was all excited about new life, new family etc
.
They have a DNR order, and it doesn't look like she will regain consciousness

Flame
She's gone
{{hugs}}
Oh Flame
I'm so sorry.
Sorry flame.
Flame, I've texted you. x x
So sorry Flame.
Thank you everyone.
On a brighter note... Midwife appointment this morning - I am now 2/5 engaged and she can't see me making it to 40 weeks. I was very restrained and didn't kiss her
Flame, how long have you got left?
3 weeks tomorrow
That's gone so quick (although probably not for you)
Woohoo!
That's Full Term tomorrow then?
Hurrah! Good excuse to crack out some celebratory chocs or similar /
Ooh my midwife mate on facebook says it is more likely 2/5 palpable, so even more in than I thought
Flame
for the MW and bubba being nearly ready to pop! but
for the news about your 'Auntie', sorry didn't see if you tweeted 'owt yesterday as didn't have time to check the feeds....
Jas, phew for coffin turning up, hope everything went as well as could be today {{{Hugs}}}
EPPM scared of the wind chime
and
that's quite funny, weird what they don't take to eh!
MRM tooth? when you getting that done then?
which one is it?
CSWS
for you all having a good sleepover! particularly dd
Phoenix how's things? are you back yet?
Gran is still in hospital they're still investigating....they have said its not the cancer though....?? Still waiting to sign for the new store too, gah! hoping solicitor has something for us by Friday....better do, we've recruited staff to start training 2nd week in October, we need this place up and running yesterday!
I was thinking it was Friday for some reason (not today... the funeral).
(will reply to rest in the morning, sooooooooooo tired)
I think today is funeral, friday is party for dd1 (I think that's the right dd...)
Hi Friz, yes i'm back
We've finally got our webcam up and running and dh is talking to his brother in America on Skype. He's lived there about 4yrs and it's really weird hearing him with a yorkshire accent mixed with an American one
Morning
Funeral was yesterday, and went well. It was fairly unconventional - his daughter spoke, we had a few tales of Goa from his mate, then we had some interesting music, all signed the coffin, and went to the pub.
All the stuff I had arranged went fine, dp said he looked happy when he collected him.
I was soo relieved, I was shattered, and was asleep by 9.30last night!
Party tomorrow (for dd2)so still busy, but much less stressed now.
Back later.
Signing a coffin? I like that!
That was my first thought too Flame! Glad its all done with Jas; kids party wont be that bad in comparison.
ds1 already trying to plan his birthday on November <sigh>. Same old problem; cant fit very many in the house, cant afford a soft play type party (its bloody £17.95 per head now
). Dont want to risk the weather for outdoors like we did last year, as it was good, but a bit chaotic in the dark, and the grown ups got really cold not running about! He says he might like pizza hut, which is 4.99 a head, but then I guess we still have to give the adults something if they stay, and in any case he's finding it hard to stick to 10 people, which is our limit; you know how if you invite some you have to invite others, -lus friends frmo outside school blah blah. If he has 10 plus himself and ds2, thats £60 plus grown up drinks, which is our budget limit. But will he want to play too? My friend thinks so, altho if he himslef has said he'd like pizza hut, then it should be ok. He's not stupid, he knows what he wants. Sorry... rambling
Parties are tricky MRM, I've hired the local community hall with another mum this year £26 between us, and a disco £80.00 between us, we're catering ourselves (hotdogs) n prob crisps n grapes! (shhh the frootshoot brigade will kill me) but we can squeeze loads of kids in, huzzah!
Jas, like the signing of the coffin bit, just told dh he can do that to mine, he said he'll have me stuffed instead
Glad it went ok, good luck with the party tomorrow.
Flame, found the pokemon thread! am I outed now
Phoenix, skype is weird for that eh! I must try and catch my mates in NZ this weekend, as have sent birthday card, but its going to be approx 3 weeks late! ahem....
Bad news on gran front today...she was sedated last night, got up to go to loo this am and fell over.....told drs it was ok, its not, she's been in agony all day and now they won't see her, my auntie and dad are at the hosptial now arguing her case
fecking hospitals......so far they're not getting anywhere, they keep ringing me, to ring my Dr friend, to find out who to ask for help next in the hierachy....
news is gran has a fractured hip, whilst on an nhs ward....sigh.....
Bravo the NHS
.
Glad the funeral went well.
Happy birthday to dd2 for tomorrow
.
Swimming party mrm?
Or you could borrow our marquee and have it at home!
Happy birthday dd2
did think about swimming party, think iirc right its £120 for an hour or something tho, and then they dont get fed or have anywhwere to do the cake etc.
Thak you for the marquee offer; I think you might underestimate the damage a dozen boys could do to it tho!
Its a shame his bday isnt just a bit earlier in the year, cos then we could just save all our get-in-frees and take half a dozen friends to chessington!
Why am I picturing MRM's whole house in CSWS's marquee?
Lol me too
I am oddly excited to be tip of the day
Woah, are you tip of the day? Must go and look.
"Can BabyGus's cot go in our room?" <rocks in corner with fear at that concept>
Jas- hope DD2's birthday was lovely.
Frizbe-
to hear about gran... thats so crappy for her.
Flame- yay! for TOTD
Any twinges yet?
Hello
Thanks, dd enjoyed her birthday. (cake pic on profile) Parties at home are getting too loud and stressful. I will have t think of something different to do soon.
Sorry to hear about your gran Frizbe. How is she now?
TOTD is still there. They love you Flame
WE had a nice lunch with dps sister today. Not seen her for 10 years before the funeral but she is planning t move back to uk now her children are both here, so we may see a bit more of her soon.
Jas that cake looks marvellous
you are so talented!
Glad you had lovely lunch with dp's sister
that's great.
Gran has had her hip operation today, thankfully as she was in a lot of pain, she's come out of it ok and is awake again, but that's all they can say for now. I saw her yesterday and she recognised me, so she's not gone totally potty yet
she could remember all my kids names, including ss and dh too, so as far as I go, not so looney!
More bad news here though, the store got robbed last night, we think they've just taken cash, as far as we can see.....
the store is ok, its the office they mainly went for, looks like the locks held on the door to the store, though it was tried, they kicked the fire exit in....our landlord is going to re-enforce the whole area and put in steel doors....hopefully they may be on cctv from the drug re hab unit that is beind us.....bit of a mess though and we're still waiting for forensics......gah.
Friz, that is really crap. Hope they find who did it
Fab cake as usual Jas
Ignoring things for a min for a quick update...
Been at funeral. Aching and random twinges most of the day, now feeling decidedly uncomfortable... taken painkillers and going to get in bath. Thinking if it carries on after that, then I should probably think about blowing up a pool and things...

Make sure you keep us informed. Hope this is it. Good Luck.
I hope so too. Keep us informed.....
Also, good luck
Frizbe -
I hope they get caught. My parents were broken into last week, and it is not nice
Thanks guys, fingers x'd they don't come back, as its still only boarded up for a few days till the builders can get to us.....have backed up everything off the pc today just in case they come and take it....
CSI Ripley finally got to us today too, they got a good glove and foot print, which might be enough evidence to help them on their way to catching the right person
Flame its Braxton Hicks, don't kid yourself its anything more
not until your in complete agony anyway
Hope the funeral was as ok as can be
Gran is ok, in pain, but ok and she's only asked where my grandad is once! (dead 25 years now)
Ooh exciting flame. Good luck if it is the real deal.
Break in sucks Friz
.
about every half hour, not desperately strong so gonna sleep and see what happens
hope you have a restful night and it kicks off in the morning
Yay for prints friz.
Down to odd random ones over night. V tired and pissed off with all the hurting yesterday for nothing.
{{{Hugs}}} Flame, you're finally getting Braxtons, you've not had em before eh? I got them a lot with dd2 and not at all with dd1
Thanks for your support over the last few days girls, you'll be pleased to hear things are finally looking up
Gran is now mobile again, they've had her whizzing the ward on her zimmer for 2 hrs today
she's been well away apparently
they put her in bed to stop her bothering the nurses! seems more 'with it' too apparently, she might make warden aided at this rate.
Store is slowly getting back to normal too.
Jas, how's things your way?
Where are the rest of you, you're all being very quiet?
I've had braxtons during this pregnancy - not with the others. These have been that bit more iyswim, and they didn't go away with the standard bath/pills advice, they just carried on the same regularness, hence me getting hopes up.
Yay for gran
Had a huge stupid fight with DH about santa and chimneys of all bloody things. Now he has gone to work in a strop and I can't stop crying
What about santa and chimneys etc? Dont fret I very much doubt its a divorce case
. Esp if you go into labour before you see him agin!!
Sorry, have read all therest, but got no glasses on so an=m reading nd typing bl9nd!
got an "impressive" from the boxing instructor last night
. I was shattered though after 3 hours of classes! Boxing is hard work, so it made comabt feel like a breeze afterwards.
Yay for impressive
He has been painting a picture to go in the fireplace (instead of the big gaping hole). Kids removed said picture for Santa to be able to get out the chimney. I heard him telling them that the chimney was blocked anyway so Santa couldn't get down it
. He says he was telling them he got in by magic.
I have no idea. I was yelling at him by that time.
They are 6 & 3. They believe. They are some of the few children to have an actual fireplace. WTF does he need to tell them he doesn't come down a perfectly acceptable chimney?!?!?! B asked if we couldn't just take the pic out on xmas eve (which had been my plan).
I think he may have taken offence to being treated like a child and yelled at in front of them
Not heard from him all day
Where is everyone?
ds1, the mot realist child I know, has never asked about the reality of father xmas, nor how he gets past the telly in our fireplace
I think an episode of sponge bob or something may have been to blame for the questioning tbh - it seems a fairly random thing to think of at the end of September
We have a chimney on the roof, but the opening finishes in the loft. My girls did question it.....fc comes down the chimney and then through the loft hatch of course!
It was a bit closer to Christmas though.
Is dp talking to you now Flame?
I love that it is unusual enough for you to mention 3 hrs f classes being tiring, mrm. I would be dead after 3 hrs.
Good to hear your gran is improving Frizbe. I hope she is well enough to leave hospital soon.
DS is not well...croup, or something similar. He is much better today, but Tuesday night was awful.
DP has plastered two of my bedroom walls today
I may even get it finished before Christmas!
Evening ladies. Just checking in.
Ds took his first steps today. Just a couple, but it's a start.

No, he's a baby!
Awww CSWS
toddling, fab
Jas, plaster
yay!
Flame, Santa has a magic key here to get in the door, as we have no chimney, mind you Santa also taps into our alarm system and uses it for cctv purposes to spy on the kids and make sure they're being good (blame Peter Kay for that one)
MRM is Combat 41 good? I've not been this week due to life etc and now I can't even make tomorrows class either as we have KEYS!! for the new store to go and pick up
lots of shouting at estate agents/solicitors has finally budged the prospective landlord to sign some paperwork!the full gubbins won't be sorted until monday, but we have them provisionally over the weekend to get the place cleaned up ready for stocking etc next week/week after, wooot!!!
Other news, gran is a bit mentally wobbly again
poss another infection? they're checking it out.
OMG csws, he cant have done?
Hurray for your walls Jas.
Friz, 41 is great yes, except there's one track where you either start on the second not the first beat, or you miss one out, and its a pita for me who cant time things properly!! And there's less muay tai knee jumops etfc. And the insane recovery track isreally insane; lots of poncing about running knee-ups etc iykwim! 42 is out soon you know? I have to say I'm favouring boxing now though
Only did 2 classes last night; function, and then LBT, which I'be not done for ages; I love the instrubctor, and itsa good no-brainer happy jump about class
So I didnt stay for third class as I wanted to leave on such a buzz! Did do 15 min crosstrainer before to warm upo.so dont feel so guilty.
Going to the 99p shop today with friend with car.. hurray
Ooo, and Poundland is coming right next doorr to the gym
He is still newborn and cannot be walking. <blatantly ignores that he was a few months old before I even got pregnant>
Yay for Jas walls.
We have very carefully not mentioned Santa, and he hasn't commented on the picture rescued from the bin. Called me mid morning yesterday though (when he was finishing at 11.30 anyway) just randomly to see how I was, so clearly forgiven.
for more nutty Gran Friz.
Had backache all night, so not much in the way of sleep. Nothing in the way of baby either. A mum at school yesterday yelled "POP! POP! POP!" at my bump
wtf is that all about??? It wasn't even just loud talking, it was full on shout.
He'll be 1 next weekend you know!
Yay for walls Jas.
Hope it's just a blip for your gran Friz.
CSWS 1
are you having a huge party for him? or just a quite family bash?
Flame,
at woman at school, she's feeling your pain for you! glad sorted out with dh, he's probably thinking 'my wife is a hormonal looney again
'
Woot just seen a trailer for Zombie Land, so going to see that!
MRM they've only just previewed 41 up here
so when I eventually get there, it'll be to that, although it won't be next week either, as I have to do work stuff all week and prob the week after too, till we get the store open....
Woot we got keys today, and then we found out that we couldn't find the meters for anything.....after a ring around later on water is in the yard somewhere and we have two electric ones, both hidden in the solicitors
will be going looking for them on monday! good news is an alarm system is built in, bad news is we have to pay to get it turned on and monitored....eh well, guess you have to expect these things eh! we aim to be open in two weeks, watch this space!
How can it be a year already csws? Yay! for walking though
Was actually
(well, jaw on chest really) at your fb thingy the other day... what nastiness
Good news re dh though!
Frizbe- sorry to hear about break in- that is just rubbish- but hope all preparations go well for new store [excited]
Flame- due date is...? 5th? ooooohhh
mrm- love the typing blind
Hi Jas- great cake as usual! Hope bedroom is finished soon
Hi Phoenix- hope your gorgeous dss are fine!
DS did his first proto-crawl today... about 2 inches- all downhill from here!
I think that saying he is walking is taking it a bit far. It was just 2 steps! But soon I'm sure.
And your ds crawling too EPPM. D must just be trying to stay one step ahead of him!
No family bash Friz, as no family around (dh's parents away and still no contact with mine). But some of my post-natal thread from here are coming to celebrate with us, which will be lovely.
Took me a moment to twig that you were on about your second shop Friz - great news.
EPPM - Mentioning stuff on FB I have missed always makes me go look....
Anther growing up baby
csws - Yay! for job
Very odd (ex) friend you have, who is obviously perfect in every way as she feels so free to criticise you
Frizbe - good news with shop, and your expanding empire.
mrm -
@ poundland excitement. I am taking the dds to spend their pocket money in Claires accessories today
Due date is 16th. Have had backache since Thursday and sod all sleep because of it, but no sign of an actual child. I was tearful with just basic hormones anyway, but now I'm just pretty much broken.
Yay for keys Friz
Missed the fb thing with CSWS but assuming I am
Forgotten the other stuff
{{{{Big Hugs}}}} Flame, it will be out soon!
Jas,
at the dd's in Claires
CSWS I've not seen the facebook thing either, but
on your behalf as it doesn't sound good.
EPPM
for the attempt at crawling from ds.
Thanks for the thanks re the store! very exciting times here.
I'm in a less arsey mood tonight
'woot' for less arsey mood
am bored and tootling around threads here, wine worse.....dh has buggered off to bed, kids and cat asleep too. So my question to you all is who sleeps the most in your house? the kids, dh or the cat? it's equal dh and cat here I reckon! (makes mental note to marry someone 10 years younger at some point)
DD2 or dp....no cat!
Yay
fr better mood Flame.
We did the open day at senior school. Really surprisingly positive

at your answer Jas! glad day at senior was good
do you feel better about it all now? I'm dredding junior, never mind senior here (mind am still amazed that ss has had to purchase seperate 'dance' kit to his PE kit
)
A little better. They have started making serious changes in the past few months, and are predicting big improvements in exam results (which have been shockingly bad for years).
DD1 will learn given half a chance, and by the time dd2 goes another two years later, even she may get pushed as much as she needs.
I may even be brave enough to fill in the application this week.
That's good news then
fingers x'd they go onwards and upward from here, all schools can change just like 'that' IMO, our local senior got a new head and ended up in 'Special Measures' within a year, it was previously top rated.....so just show's what a differece a 'head' or change of attitude can make! (and boy has that head got a lot of slagging off from the teachers and the pupils.......the 6th form got the school re ofted'ed on her 2nd year, they all complained en mass
and it worked)
What on fb? Will need to go look.
Just found all manner of crap when we unfolded the sofabed
yuck.
SDorry, did read all but off to soft play party in a min; nice and easy as only ds1!
Dh gave dd a mobile phone with a PAYG sim card in the other week, so that we could play at phoning her but she couldn't phone out.
Only 999 calls still work, hence us getting a call back from Herts police today
.

ROFL at police call, that's very funny
though obviously not when you have to explain to them eh......
The cat is complaining that I'm using his head as an arm rest, the cheek of it, he stuck his head under there.....
Been to see gran today, who seems on the mend, so this is good, she's also aware that she's going into a nursing home, when room can be found for her and seems ok with this fact at the moment.
Ooops csws, guess you won't be giving her a phone again in a hurry
Glad your gran is on the mend Friz.
Any more pains Flame?
at walking and crawling babies. Mine is 12wk old now
.
Good news re gran Frizbe
@ police call....dd1 did it with our house phone when very small. Very embarrassing.
Electrical fire at the gym! Just glad wasnt me evacuated from the shower
Lovely dentist toady; the sedation is set for next Monday. Eek. Great charity shop right opposite though; got a spiderman duvet cover for ds1 for £3 and BRIGHT RED jeans for ds2 for £1
Have found someone to do a joint ds1 party with, so gonna do church hall with bouncy castle, affordable between two!
Lots of good news there mrm
Particularly
abut the spiderman duvet cover.
DD1 is getting a brace in a couple of weeks. We went today t get the molds made. She is having red glittery and is very excited
We had a disasterous evening out today. Supposed t be meeting dps niece, and his uncle who is visiting from NZ, for a meal. We all met (HUGE taxi fare to get there). We were the only people in the place which is never a good sign. Before we'd even got our food, the owner came to ask us t keep our children under control and at the table. They were sat at the next table, not doing anything.
It went downhill from there. We left stressed and hungry .
Where was the meal? Spill the beans!
ds1 wet hte bed last nihgt, so the duvet cover is back in the wash already!
Am now off to tescos to return 2 scooby doo lucky bags that I bought on sunday and when I got home i noticed the best before date in March 2009
Oh some "family" restaurant that doesn't actually want children there, mrm.
From the reaction to our complaints it was fairly clear the manager is a total dick and the place won't last very lng.
No one here all day?
You having a baby then, Flame?
I am trying to stop a baby from falling out through my skin. I swear the others weren't this heavy, or I had some form of muscles to hold them in before...
Going for a 12lb vaginal birth then?
ooh that sounds like fun

Dude ran off on school run - legged it round corner, right down the side of v busy main road. A lovely dad chased and caught him for me as there was no way I was fast enough.
Thats why its called a school run
Farking 'ell Flame, glad someone grabbed him for you, Dh suggests a Tasar for him
might be a bit extreme though, but the break in seems to have brought that out in him
So here's lots of lovely baby come out now vibes for you, even though you have a week to go
waves chocolate, crisps and a froot shoot towards the bump
Phoenix 12 weeks, where has the time gone
is he rolling over yet?
MRM electrical fire, yikes! well done on the party, you've reminded me I need to invite the rest of dd1's mates, as the other mum did all the writing of the invites for the class (I printed them)
Jas, really
how crap, can't believe there are still places like that out there, mind you we rarely stretch beyond Ikea or Frankie n Bennies
Hi CSWS, what you upto? how's dh's new job going?
EPPM, how's things?
Where's Dame these days, haven't seen twinny around for ages....
Don't know if you're interested but have seen Spider Man scooters that do the folding thing in Wilko today (you do have Wilko down south don't you?)
So we have a store here! completed yesterday, all hell due to break loose next week as all the stuff arrives to kit it out, due to open next Saturday, without fail, gibber! will we do it on time? yes we will!
Other news is gran is still in hospital.....am hoping to visit tomorrow...will let you know how she is!
Tomorrow is a good day to have a birthday flame
.
Friz - busy preparing for ds' 1st birthday tomorrow! Have a few of my other PN thread coming so that we can celebrate all the birthdays together
.
Sounds like it's all go in your neck of the woods!
I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow csws
Frizbe - Well done on the shop
Thanks for the spiderman scooter info....I was planning to get my dad to take me to Wilcos today and didn't have time, so will go on Monday when ds is at nursery all day. I feel some early christmas shopping coming on
Flame - I can't catch ds when he runs and I'm not 9 months pregnant! That is why he is still in the buggy for school runs.
Friz - He's 13wk today
, no rolling yet but he has all of a sudden got chunky
. He's jumped from 13lb 1oz to 14lb 15.5oz in 2 weeks. He's just started not been as floppy over the last few days.
for the new shop.
Hope ds has a lovely birthday csws
Oh, I love it when they get all cuddly
I'm slightly scared of breaking floppy little newborns
I've just done the online school applications for ds and dd1 [nervous.....I've only put one choice for each of them)
I guess ds2's school form should be coming soon then. eek. It's going to be a nightmare if he doesnt get in. I dont want them to go to diffreent schools, and I dont want him to go to the only other one we're likely to get in to. Its not a great school, plus I have time to pick up from both but not drop off as they both start same time.
Not doing joint party noe fRiz; decided it'd actually cost more, as joint would involve whole class. so back to origianl plan of pizza hut; 16 kids plud my two, Dad paying as ds1's present. ds1 happy as long as they can have a scary fancy drss theme
to scare the staff
got all the party bag bits from wholeaslers yesterday though, so nice and cheap!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY cswsds
SIXTEEN KIDS??? why 16 at pizza hut???
Happy Birthday little CSWS
Forgotten most else. Still pregnant.
16 plus her 2
You really are mad mrm. I reckon 6-8 is the maximum I can do (without hiring a hall).
Ds managed to collide with a roundabout yesterday. He had a huge bump on his forehead. It is much smaller this morning, but with a big bruise still.
Because I cant be bothered to hire a hall.
If I hired a hall I'd end up with more kids; if we did the joint party, the other person wanted the whole class of 30, so that would be 45 withour other friends too.
Because pizza hut is easier; thats why I'm paying for a party host to deal with kids complaints
There will be adults there too of course; am sking for it to be drop off cos I cant feed adults too, but my close friends will stay of course. My Dad may be paying, but I still have to keep control on the budget!
Piza Hut cheapest option...
pizza hut 4.99 a child including cake and party bags and everything.
MacD's 7.00 a child
soft play 10.00 a child basic or 15.00 with a take home toy (worth 50p
)
other soft play 17.95 a child
Hall hire £20 an hour so would need 2.5hrs, plus food and game prizs and entertainment bits and bobs. Plus more party bags! We worked it out as about £120 for our half, as they wanted a bouncy castle and 45 guests.
The problem is you (or ds) have too many friends.
As they get older it is alot easier to restrict to a few close friends and do something small at home....hot dogs and a video for example.
See I have just restricted to 6 (inc DD) from the beginning...
Happy Birthday csws' ds!
cannot believe it is a year already!
Happy Birthday little boy!
Well, there's 5 from out of school that are close friends. Two best friends at school, and two other close school friends. So in future I cN SEE HOW HE'LL BE CUTTING IT TO 9 and then 7, sdpo there's light at te end of the tunnel. But as Dad is paying this year, I dont minbd inviting 16!
Off to circus today (organised between 3 schools, each get a cut of ticket sales).
Has everyone deserted the thread?!
Talk to me about 2 vs 3 children please. Dh has suddenly decided that he wouldn't object to a third.
I would but that would involve the third actually getting out of my body
I'm going to be watching how you cope closely flame, as I'd guess that if we had another then it might with similar age gaps.
GET OUT BABYGUS
Was it last Friday or this Friday that you're due?
This Friday.
I am clearly a model mum for coping as it is, so I am a fine example

[g rin]

Wow- lovely news csws!
Wot no baby yet Flame?
<<strokes tummy hair>>
Three is a great idea csws
There is always someone to fight play with.
And if you hold off til ds is at nursery/school the transition from 2-3 is alot easier than 1-2
Flame, by this point in the pregnancy if you are getting through each day without committing murder, then you are doing really well.
Do random mums at school ask if you've had the baby yet? Or was that just me??
But I will be veeeeery old by then Jas! I remember you banging on about how old you were when you had ds, but I'd be even older!
There'll be no 3rd baby in this house. I think i've just about persuaded dh to get the snip. He doesn't think he should have to but i'm not doing it after i've been through 2 cs's and all the tests while ttc ds1
for your number 3 though csws. I've heard number 3 just sort of slots in no problem
It's not definite that we'll try for a 3rd ladies - just thinking about it!
Yes to random mums asking. I mean I look like I have swallowed a beach ball - do they REALLY need to ask!??!
Who wants to point and laugh at me? I decided to whack hair removal cream round bikini line and hope for the best (no mirror at that point).... I have this huge random patch of hair at the top with nothing else around it

You're quite a bit younger than me aren't you csws?
My two good friends who have had babies this year are both 40
And theirs are no 4 and 5!
(I am very glad it is not me though.)
lol Flame.
I hated it. (The asking....I did start saying "yes, but I decided I like looking like this and shoved it back up again", after a while
)
You will at least avoid the equally annoying congratulations for producing not a wonderful baby, but one of a different sex, which is the only reason I could possibly have had a third.
Ah yes, I would avoid that too Jas. People thought it was great that I was expecting ds, and didn't quite know what to say when I said that we'd been hoping for another girl! Adore my boy now though!
Am 36 now Jas, so waiting til he's at pre-school would make me 38 I guess, compared to your 37 (iirc) for boy.
I was still 36 when I had him.
I thought you were younger than that!
Ah, well, I still think three is worth it, and for me. having a bigger gap meant that once the pg was over, babyhood with ds was probably easier than with dd2.
I am now sure that under fives, while not easy, are less stressful than older children. I never shouted at the girls when they were little, and could cheerfully kill them before they even make it home from school some days now.
People just look at me baffled when they ask if I want one either way (which appears to be an insane idea what with me having one of each so it "not mattering"), and I answer that I want one that doesn't climb. Or a rabbit.
Flame
at your hair situation! was also
at EPPM's crossing out, as read it as hairy tummy! oopse......
CSWS, no 3
cons, if its twins or triplets, you'll need a massive wagon to transport them all in. Other than that I can see no cons, particularly as the eldest is more into looking after the youngest too (works in my case, though there is a bit larger age gap
) Oh no, one more con, one less spare bedroom for your guests! (we'll all have to stay in the playhouse!)
Phoenix, awwww, cuddly baby
MRM, Pizza place sounds like it will be bonkers, but cheap, so that's always good in my book
I had dd2 in bed with me at 6am singing twinkle, twinkle, followed by grand old duke of york.....am tired, but still wired after 12.5 hrs at work, gah! Flame I think I may birth a new store at the same time you do this baby at the rate we're both going at
You 3-child people are all totally insane.
Great, so DH's company lost the contract with the hospital - they all thought it was pretty much a toss up between NHS getting it (which meant changes, but nothing major), and them... a company that has lost millions last year and is on the verge of bankruptcy won
So............. it is either stay within the same company, try and get transferred back to his old dept (but the bloke he works with overheard him saying that and asked for a job for his son (just left school) there before DH got his request in
), or move halfway across the country to a different centre (which I really don't want). Stay with the new falling apart company and hope for the best. Or try and find another job that will pay enough to support us, when this is all he has done for the last 8/9 years and he has no other qualifications
yay.
. Just because the other bloke has asked for a job for his son doesn't mean that he'd get it over your dh though.
Where in the country is the other centre that he could move to?
Presumably if he stays with new falling apart company then he is protected a little under TUPE. And if they go under then someone still needs to do the job for whoever takes over to sort out the mess, right?
Northampton, Oxford, Bristol... other places I can't remember.
I need to sit down with him and find out what exactly happens if he just stays put. (No idea what TUPE is
). To my mind if they go under, it is just going to have to be the whole contract going up thing again - they can't not have prosthetics anywhere in the area can they?!?!
The son vs DH all depends on how they value everything as far as I can see. DH they have spent money training already, he is fully qualified and can just slot right into a job, but his salary is obv more. The son will need training but will be paid less. Swings n roundabouts.
They have said they will help with moving costs if we do want to change centres, but I don't want to move. I would rather both of us out to work full time in low paid jobs than move away tbh.
I think any of the blue dots
Ah well, since Luton or Stevenage weren't on that list, I think that you should stay put near the seaside too
.
TUPE is Transfer of Undertaking Protection of Employment, see here.
Thank you
Oh, m/w appointment says all is fine and ready to go, just got to wait for it to actually co-operate. Head is just as very engaged as it has been for weeks, so all the dropped/not dropped comments are as pointless as I thought as it ain't getting any lower without coming out!
Re dhs job, Flame. I hope it works out with something reliable.
DP has work tomorrow....his first job for ages. We live on tax credits and child benefit
Flame - we are looking to restart the Second Chapter.....are you interested?
Also, EPPM, would you ask Janeite please?
Thanks.
Maybe it means its time for him to work as a sculptor with dh
I think I'd rather stay put on low pay than move, but I guess it depends if its feasible to live like that
DP got up at 4.30 this morning
and didn't get in from work til 8pm!
No idea how long it will last, but at least he's being paid by the hour
Thats excellent Jas
. Dh was at the Dungeon all day yesterday, so worked really hard and got back early. Which was handy as I found someone to help me bring home a huge bookcase that school was chucking out, so dh had the kids while Imoved it and painted it all (no patience to wait!). Finished 10pm!
Elephant was a much better plan.
Elephant???
I told her to get an elephant to help get the bookcase home.
Thought it would be a sound investment for both freecycle needs and hiring out for parties, school fetes etc

Oh thread with me whinging about due date is here btw. Seemed best to confine my moans
Happy due date!
Its very cool to bt two weeks over your date you know
Bookcase looks great; and I've even touched up all the places where small people have scribbled on the walls, and bought wood to fix the curtain rail. I'm on a DIY roll today
. Think there's a rat in our shed tho
mrm - i have an auction running on ebay and someone has asked if I'll do a BIN price for it. If we agree a price, how do I physically put it on, and what fees will I incur?
I think you can only add a BIN if there's no bids yet. You go into 'revise listing' and there'll be an option. Think its a few pence to do it, not done for ages. But, most people who want it want you to sell outside of ebay so they can get it quick (in which case you can take a chance, then withdarw the listing, even tho its slightly aganisny the rules!). Al;so, if someone wants a BIN, its either cos in a hurry, or cos they want it really badly, in whih case they'll bis high anyway, so you mihgt be worth waiting. They'll offer you a lower BIN than willing to pay of course.
What is it? <nosey>
Just a boden top of dd's. No bids yet - only went on at 10pm last night, and they had asked by the time I got up this morning. I'll set a level that I'd be happy with, and if they don't want to pay that then I'm happy to let the auction run.
Have sold a few bits lately - was pleased to get just over a tenner for a pair of dd's old clarks boots.
I've got a few things to put on, but just not got round to it. Unless any of you lot are in the market for a scuttlebug/thunderbirds duvet cover/ xl Zara velvet culottes
No baby today then Flame? Sleep well
csws- did she go for your price then?
Where have you put the bookcase mrm??
Front room, corner diagonally opposite door. Terracotta sofa next to it, leather sofa at right angles to it under the back window. Bookcase opposite it in the gap between back window and chgimney breast. Treadmill under front window. PC cupboard on left as you walk in through door.
Thankyou
What happened to the other exercisey thing? (Can't even remember what it is called)
cross trainer
Yes!
<proud>
Ok so MRM doesn't have an elephant, but does have a bookcase.
Flame is lumpy still and pissed off re both that and her dh's possible job going tits up
CSWS is making an ebay killing
Jas's dh is working all hours for reasonable dosh
Have I missed anything?
We have a new shop here
and this site has
icons since I last was on here! we opened today and all was good, dh was over there, whilst I helped out at Ripley, with the girls in tow too, who behaved themselves all day!! and played games/ds's nicely, whilst I oversaw the proceedings
We're all working in the new store tomorrow, so fingers x'd that they're as good then too....am leaving them with dh for the last hour, as gran in in hosptial just down road, so am legging it to see her, though apparently she's not recognised anyone for the last two days, so will have to see if she's lucid or not
Haven't heard back, so I guess not EPPM!
Poor ds is ill. Rash, threw up everything this morning (inc stomach lining) and running a temp. Am assuming non-specific viral and doping him up with calpol and nurofen. Poor thing, and poor dd, because it's impacting on people wanting to play, naturally.
Congrats on new shop Friz.
Thanks CSWS, but oh poor ds
give him a big hug from me, poor little mite....hope he's over it soon.
For new shop Friz.
For dp's work Jas. What a long day but i guess when he's getting paid by the hour it's not bad and gives you some peace from him
Flame - I daren't actually ask the question (especially as you're now overdue)but you know what i mean

for poorly ds csws.
We've all been full of cold here. Noah has had a cough and coughing alot after feeds and bringing all his milk back up so i was a bit worried about him getting dehydrated but the gp assured me he was fine and that is a normal reaction for babies with that type of cough because they can't cough the mucus crap up like we can. Fingers crossed he's getting over it though cos we've had no been sick today although still a slight cough.
Frizbe- many congratulations! Hope you're not too shattered my dear.
csws- hope ds is better soon poor boy
People don't want to catch it? strange folk!
Phoenix- love the new photos- ds2 is a v smiley baby!
Hope he is better soon though... I remember ds having yellowy mucus for ages after he was born- more with a cs than vb, cos it doesn't get squeezed out of them.
mrm- how many times a year do you rearrange your furniture? Seem to do it every few months!
Flame- big hugs (though of course, not if you don't want to be touched atm!)
<sob>
<am ignoring frizbe till they open london branch>
only move furniture when is good reason, cheeky
. Had to move a little bit to get 2metre bookcase in
and before that, we moved cos exlodger brought us huge tv which I thought wouldnt go in place of old tv, but as it happens, it did fit, so we moved stuff back again! Criss trainer got freecycled ages ago Jas, cos it was a crap one. When I said I'd have it off Dad I thought it was a bit better than it was.
ds1 sitting on sofa doing a stitch-your-own-felt-bag kit
{{{{Hugs}}}} to Flame, I reckon it sounds like its on its way out though
it'll be really quick when it happens this time eh! Shower curtains at the ready!
[fgrin] at MRM
Thanks EPPM and Phoenix, am tired, but happy! dh has just crawled off to bed with 'man something' has sore throat and is feeling pap, I guess he's deflating now that its open, he's not good with stress.
I seem to have a black lap warmer, that's drooling on my hand as I type
CSWS how's ds today? better I hope?
I think I'm off to attempt to finish a book, wish me luck!
Friz, whats the name of the warmup track in combat 41? Its driving me insane! Is it a remix of Rhianna or something? <middle aged person talking here
>
I had a dream last night about doing the ballroom blitz track over and over [
Wish Flame would just get a wriggle on. Anyone know if there's a small (ie cheap[[
) baby thing she actually needs , rather than me getting some clothing item cos its cute? I cant imagine there's anything she hasnt got baby-wise by now!
Hello!
I realise I have been absent for ages but flame in labour has dragged me back
Did I miss anything exciting?
Need to go collapse for a bit now as have done school run for first time in a week and am knackered! (been on tamiflu since thurs having felt rubbish since last monday)
Hi Dame! Sorry to hear you're unwell (maybe I should check fb properly!)
csws- I have just found one of your old threads v useful
Sadly it was your flour weevil thread <<vom>>
I am not actually making carrot cake this afternoon after all
Come on with that baby Flame!
lol EPPM - sorry about the cake!
Dunno re flame, but presumably that question was aimed more at her anyway
.
Hellooooo dame! Can't remember when you were last on, so not sure what you've missed!
You know that Phoenix had a second boy don't you?
And friz has just opened a second shop.
I know what's happening with those I found on FB, well when I take things in that is!
I have lurked now and then but life is hectic.
Flame
Congratulations on Carys, but OUCH for 9lbs9oz, damn that's large for the nether regions 'winces', its a good job you gave birth, that thread nearly went onto a new one!
MRM I think you're right with the track choice, I was amused by Metallica as a dance mix track, again with ballroom blitz, all rather
its the 1st time I've done 41, but we've got it till Xmas apparently, so will have time to get with it
Hi Dame, as CSWS said I've been doing the store, not much else that I can think of, have you applied for school yet? or can't you yet?
Thankfully I've never encountered a flour wevil, but there is time I'm sure.....
School got their damn plant delivery today with no forewarning to the parents again (they're supposed to tell you what day it is) so of course I had no car...thankfully Meri's dh rescued us, plus another mum and child, or else I fear my plants would not have made it home.....
Dont you feel a bit daft doing the running in and out to ball room blitz, even by combat standards?!
Thank God Flame has finally had it
Frizbe- I don't mean to worry you... but they are in all flour apparently- the eggs are in the flour when it comes
(thats a vommy face) mn is v useful though- put your flour in the freezer for 24 hours when you get it home from the shop, and they won't hatch...
Strangely enough, there was one bag of flour that had none in- it was a super-fine mill for sauces/pizza... that was also the only non-organic one, so not sure whether it's the lack of pesticides (yeah- they do have some uses) or the extra milling. Can't really use that one for carrot cake though.
Plants? delivered to school? Huh?
<whispers> is this a rural thing, or a regional thing, or what?
Awww.... a leetle tiny baby girl....
<sigh> how lovely.
Actually...not all that little! <wince>
Congratulations Flame. Lovely name, ouchy weight. Well done
Hi Dame
Aaaargh just googled flour weevils and wish i hadn't bothered <shudder>
Ok where's the flour thread link, shiver....ponders if my lovely organic flour is filled with the damn things......
Plant delivery is something school do to raise themselves extra funds, they get a % of the take so as it saves me a trip to the garden centre with this bunch in tow, I've taken to taking their offerings!
Ooooh and yes MRM very silly!
frizbe- just search mn adv search for flour weevil.... you shall find several boaksome helpful threads, inc csws' from jan (v amused that you had flour from 2006 btw- I wonder what happened in 2006?
)
Mmmm they look rather tasty EPPM <boak> I shall treble check my next batch of lovely flour!
Yes have done school application and high school for ds1 who sat 11plus a couple of weeks ago!
how did he get that big?
Yay for new baby, v cute pics on fb
I've got the double whammy of infants and seniors coming up, too, dame
Nice to see you again.
Belated congrats on shop2 Frizbe.
My baby is sucking her thumb <heart melty> Never had one do that from birth
<blatantly ignores everything else using bruised bits as an excuse>
Aww, very cute. Nor have I (but you'd think otherwise if you saw the 9 yr old with the thumb in her mouth.....so NOT cute!)
Congratulations again Flame.....she is beautiful . You did really well, and I hope you enjoy her
I read your birth story and note you say you are done with having babies. ReallY??
Never any more pregnancies. I like babies, but there is no way my mental health could take another run of the AND.
She's peeling oodles, you'd think she was weeks late looking at her. Not keen on latching on
about to try again now.
I like babies, too, but they turn into children, and I couldn't cope with more than three of them!
She's not even 24 hours old yet, hopefully the latch will click soon....rugby ball position, or lying down to feed were the easiest for ds from what I remember.
Have you given her shot with biological nursing flame (sort of lie back propped on cushions both naked and let her find her own way)? I've heard of a few people lately who have got on with this when traditional positions haven't worked.
Yup - where that was what dude did (without me realising it was a "method") I sort of assumed she would just do it, and she's not. B didn't feed for the first 24hrs though.
Boy bought me a teapot
Have been whinging I wanted a teapot for ages - he likes buying me random post baby stuff
for teapot. Enjoy lots of lovely cuppas now Flamemama!
Am
... and I don't even particularly like babies... well, maybe more now than I used to!
dd1 was and still is a thumb sucker and she was a rugby ball position girl, hope you're having better luck with the feeding
. I recall dd2 didn't feed much for the 1st day, I was waving my boob at her in the delivery room (as dd1 was starved when she popped out and suckled for ages, had a right wail when the mw took her off to weigh her) where as dd2 didn't want to feed at all
PS: if you don't hear from me for a few days, its cause its all end of term bonkersness followed by a trade show in Germany this weekend (kids to grandparents and this time they can't call me to come get the kids, as I can't get back, mwah, haha) of course it'll be hard work in Germany'mops brow' but a girls gotta do it!
Sprechen sie Deutsch Friz?
Have fun Frizbe. PMSL at the image in my head f you waving your boob around in the delivery room now.
DP is a prat! He has work (at last
) and is getting a lift in, so I have the van. I never use it......but today dd1 has a dentist appt in Epping (to collect new braces, very exciting), and he has taken the keys, so I am going to have to get a taxi
<drowns in milk>
Oh lol flame - such a fun stage
.
did dp feel suitably stupid Jas?
Oh, yes. He really had forgotten about the dentist. £11 for a taxi though! We got the bus home.
Beat you; my taxi was £17 back from dentist last week
. But bus there. Is that the sparkly brace, or did I dream that?
Am packing for going home at half term; going SAt morrning, but this is the only chance I'll get to sort things out in peace, while ds2 watches cbeebies
Mum has most stuff tere for us already;lots of hand me down clothes etc, and I always leave knickers and pe kit there, and jamas for us all. So not much to take, just gotta sort out some presents for people's birthdays, and warm jumpers! And things to entertain them on the train (god I hate long trips with ds2).
And I'm trying to find an old sheet; halloween party at school tomo!
Had a very weird thing last night; watching tv, fel really sick, went to bathroom, threw up huge amounts, and at the end I was throwing up alot of blood, kind of clumpy. Then it stopped, I felt fine, and all back to normal straight away. What you think?
mrm - throwing up blood is not a good thing!
Ulcer? Any other abdo symptoms?
I'd be getting it checked at the gp if it were me.
Yes, sparkly brace. Cherry red with glitter
She was totally incapable f speech when she got it yest, but is almost back to normal today.
Halloween disco at school here tonight, and dd1 is playing netball after school , so I have 4 more trips up there to do.
I think I am going t have to take them trick or treating this year. I hate it and always refuse, but dp promised last year that he would take them this time. They haven't forgotten, but he has not got home before 8.30 since he started working again....
No symptoms, am all fine again, was a strange one-off.
ds1 on his final warning before I dont let him go to the party tonight
trick or treating... friend has a party every year, and she prearranges 5 or 6 neighbours to knowck on, which makes it safer and guarantees the kids get a warm welcome1
Very odd.....
My computer has done its wipe-the entire memory trick again
If I ever get email adresses for people, I'll have to write them down somewhere as I've lost everything again.
CSWS - you responded the last time this happened. Could you check your sent messages (if you keep them) and let me know when it was some time please.
5th March
.
mrm
are you sure you're okay? Should get it checked with gp maybe?
jas- didn't you have a new computer fairly recently? how is it wiping memory? (but I'm sure if you knew that you'd do something that prevented it... doh!)
<worried about mrm>
Thankyou csws
The new computer is dd1s. Mine is very old, and has been resurrected from death once already, and now twice cleared itself of lots of important things. No idea how, but I can reloAD AND START AGAIN, AND THE MAC MAN WHO COULD LOOK AT IT INVOLVES A TRIP TO LAKESIDE(Sorry)
Off to cadbury's world for ds2's birthday treat today
Just scanned thread and had to say MRM go to the doctor! that can't be good.
Waves at everyone else
Flame, you fb status changes over the last couple of days have mostly made me go all fluffy but wanted to hug you last night, she will get used to the new shape of her family, it will be ok, thinking of you lots.
Was it good, Dame? I went with the dds on a Brownie trip, but my main memory is of the 4 hr coach ride....
No one else around?
We're on 1/2 term, with lots of days out planned t keep everyone busy. I can't bear the fighting if we're all cooped up in here, and ds turns the computer monitor off now if I try and put it on when he wants me to pay attention to him, so I can't even hide out on here and more.
I'm around Jas. Been a bit busy myself.
Will email you later actually - it will be interesting so do check!
I'm here; jusyt back from Mum's.
Have emailed you too mrm.
Oooh people finally post
Took Lewis to his 1st speech therapy appointment today. She basically said it was probably our fault for giving him a dummy why he can't pronounce certain letters/words properly. He still has a dummy for bed and she said she thinks it would be best if he didn't have it anymore and also if Noah has one we should take it off him too because it isn't fair on Lewis to see his baby brother with one. Noah isn't that interested in a dummy but he does like it to go to sleep with but it's straight out as soon as he's asleep. Anyway he's on the waiting list again now to go to speech therapy clinic.
How is everyone?
Phoenix, ds2 is totally atrocious with his pronounciation, and he's never had a dummy at all. He cant say words ending in k or beginning with l for example, and alot more besides. ds1 had a night dummy for 3 years and he's been word perfect since aged 2. It might well be the dummy for Lewis, but I wouldnt discount the concept of the speech therapist attributing a usual cause in his/her eyes because the situation seems to fit. Hope you get sorted anyway
she just sounds anti-dummy to me. she doesn't know your child in the slightest yet can say if he will be bothered by noah having one when he can't any more?
been all fun round here - I have had a virus from hell, sore throat (not a huge thing) but raging temp, sweats, shakes... delightful. Spent most of Monday/Tuesday in bed in a daze just waking to feed pretty much. Lovely breastfeeding lady came on Tuesday because we have been struggling sooooooooooo much with decent latch. Left side is sorted completely now, right is still a bit of a battle, but I think mainly it is because I back away in fear as she tries to latch on
Swab results came back from DD2's eye - turns out it is a group a strep infection, and it is most likely that I had it too (hence her getting it) and it was that that caused my feeling crapness monday/tuesday.
OMG, I read that and thought 'who on earth is that? dd2?'

mrm.
MRM
you have half term brain eh!
OMG I've just seen my 1st Xmas advert, with snow n everything
sorry slightly distracted there...
CSWS, no, very poor German here, just about enough to order a train ticket/food....I really need to improve it, its a damn good job, they're good at English over there
Had a lovely time though, lots of new people met and some old
very good for business
MRM GO TO THE DR's, there, did I shout that loud enough?
Flame {{Hugs}} haven't been on facebook to see your posts, but the illness sounds horrible
hope you feeling lots better now and you're all doing better.
Dame, hope you had a good time
Jas, what's your dh like
and ouch for the taxi fare
great that you can choose sparkly braces now
I was looking at dd1's teeth the other day, I think they're going to cost a bit to get heading in the right direction/she'll need a few out to make room for others
dd1's birthday here this weekend, busy busy busy!
strewth where have you lot been all weekend?
partied out here, dd1's disco this lunchtime, all went well, once she decided to like it
had a wee moment when the dj decided to play a balloon popping game, ahem....tons of presents to wade through, all good though, either crafty, soapy/hairbandy or games, so all will get good use
and Meri made her a wheat bag, plus lovely cushion for her room, so she's well chuffed
Star Present from Auntie Lizzy who brought a Sylvanian Families Toy Store for her, dd1 well chuffed (Aunty L not so chuffed when she realised she had to sticker it all up
)
Oh and check facebook for our halloween party photos!
I'm sure you've seen this CSWS, but you're the only one I know on here who may vaguely be able to afford this! tis lovely non?www.mumsnet.com/Talk/property/853512-come-perv-with-me-at-some-kitchen-porn
I couldn't fit it in my kitchen friz!
Great photos Friz. Is LP Meri?
VERY quiet here.....
Yeah, where's EPPM? I'd like a full update on how dd and ds are doing please.
And apart from lots of exercise, what's going on in mrm's life?
mrm is not exercising much at all
put a stone on
mrm is doing an afternoon a week voluntary in nursery/school
mrm watched tv last night and realisedthat you lot shortened my name to the initials for mechanically recovered meat
mrm has a very very dull life
{{{Hugs}}} MRM you sound like you need them, don't sweat the weight, you're busy! I've put on half a stone, went swimming today to try and shift it (whilst dd2 was in her lesson) managed combat mon as well, so its just one more class to aim for on fri....
CSWS, Its not meri in the facebook photos! LP is our trainee manager at Ripley! everyone keeps mistaking her for dh's daughter!
she's lovely, even bbsits the girls for me sometime
Work n more work here, so nothing much to report, obviously had dd1's birthday party on Sun, so have a house full of assorted presents, as she had a disco with another friend, so the whole class were invited and we got about 22 attended (plus other friends) lots of kids, but all went well, despite the rain
although I have been spending some time this week getting to grips with a tamigotchi, which has so far been hatched twice, both times a boy, to which dd1 wasn't impressed in the 1st place, but she's come to terms with waiting for it to get a girlfriend now!
Havent done a class in ages
.
Dropped ds1 off at schoo 8.50am, call at 9.05am to get him back. thrwew up in assembly.
Oh dear. Bug or had he eaten too much mechanically recovered meat?

Very droll! Bug, prob a more vomitty version of what ds2 had when we were at my mums.
Lol @ mechanically recovered meat
I've had bloody tonsillitis to go with new baby etc (most likely the strep a....). Gradually getting over it, but feeling very drained now. Had a bedtime from hell with DS.
BUT DD2 is sleeping in her crib and has been there for about an hour <never happened before emoticon>. She has been under the impression that she must sleep being held, or at best in her car seat.... i fully expect her to wake in a min as she spends most evenings feeding, and it is probably now too quiet as dude has stopped sobbing and screaming and I have stopped shouting.

Still having saga getting benefits sorted again (they suspended them whilst they worked out stuff with selling bumfluff) - but they sent me a letter today explaining that child benefit no longer counts as income, so we are entitled to £x amount, but as our money is currently suspended, we get nothing
. What was the point of wasting the paper?!?!
They suspend while they work out changes??!
Dont they just carry on paYING WHATEVER THE AMOUNT HAS BEEN, and then adjust it once they owrk opu new total? <naive face>
I've jus t read THe time travwllers wife; ds1 still sick, so I had time while he slept and ds2 was in nursery!
they normally just keep paying, but i think it is where it is a big thing with selling business they are being knobs.
So, ds1 has eaten his first food sine Wed night... 6 Macdonaldds chips anda small fanta
I suppose its food of sorts at least. Oh, and two smarties.
Just got the last Rheneas and the Dinosaur Bones set in the ELC sale (£20 down from £60) for my Dad to give ds2 for xmas... he looked in his branch after callig me this morninig, and missed his last one by 3 minutes! Popped hurch sale thing on way home; spent £2 on tombola for ds1&2 to have a go. ds1 won tescos finest biscuits, ds2 won a miniture whisky and one of those huge tins of quality street
Yup, as long as it is something in him. and it stays in him...
i got my parcel through today of the frugi stuff I ordered (MN competition). I know they design for cloth nappies, but they may need to rethink their sizing!! I ordered 0-3 (they don't do "newborn") sleepsuits thinking they will be nice for now and trousers the next size up. She ain't a small baby by any stretch. She may fit in them by xmas... with the sleeves rolled up.
Even the breastfeeding dress I ordered in M (which they say is 12-14) thinking it would be fine on the body and dubious on the norks - I am going to have to return it for the small as it is roomy on the norks and far too big on the body
. good for self confidence though
Tis annoying as I like the dress and wanted to wear it NOW.
Flame, well that's great that you don't fit the dress
am sure dd2 will just have a huge grow overnight and fit everything too
Can't believe benifits, what a nightmare
not like you made anything from the sale/are millionaires. Ohhh may squeeze in a visit to you at end of Nov, as picked up a contact in Essen, whose UK distributor is in Christchurch
and we need to visit and sort out what stuff we can get from him (over a long weekend, obviously)
MRM, {{{Hugs}}} re the poorly kids, that's never good. What did you think of the book? I read it the other year (got it for xmas) took a bit of getting into, but was ok in the end, iuswim? has anyone seen the movie?
Where's Phoenix these days? are you lurking? or just busy with two kids?
Waves at CSWS, Jas, EPPM, Dame and anyone else out there!
Did the store 'grand opening' yesterday, which went well (UQD came down and helped out signing his books, which was fab) I was a bit sniffely yesterday, but today I am full o snot, tis not fun...kept waking up with a dry mouth last night, so feel like a zombie today....
Benefit saga sounds bad....they did what mrm said to us, and kept paying something then gave us a lump to make it up. Eventually. I lost count of the number of times I had t call though.
Frizbe - you sound very busy. Are you enjoying your little empire?
How is ds1 now mrm? I hope he is better (and no one else is ill)
EPPM has surfaced on our book thread, csws, but desn't seem to be around much atm.
DP has finished his current job (ding 14-16 hr days), has tomorrow mrning off, then starts another one in the afternoon.
I am liking having the house to myself, and the money means we won't have to cancel Christmas this year
pah for benefits flame.
Yay for bargains mrm.
Yay for more work for dp jas
Eppm is around quite a bit I think, but using her other posting name atm.
Come and say hello Eppm!
Busy weekend here, but dd managed another sleepover with child her own age. She did, however, get up, put her light on and start to play at 4.55am! my friend went up and told her it was still middle of night and she thankfully went back to sleep.
Other than that am mostly just focusing on getting lots of sleep. Ds is just starting to sleep through with some regularity, though not last night as tooth cutting.
yay for not cancelling xmas Jas
Benefits saga still going on here, but had updated tax credits notice due to the little lady being born, and we can now afford to not cancel xmas too
Huzzah for good shop opening!
I dread to think what DS would be like with a friend sleeping over - he did well sleeping at Frizbe's, but I think in his own house it would be different.
EPPM has another name???
DD2 has taken to sucking my nipples into her mouth like spaghetti
<sore> But she is much less snuffly today, and I can now yawn without my throat hurting (the last lingering pain from tonsils), so I think we can start getting back to normal.
DS is being worse than ever
, so I am on a mission to be consistent with naughty stairs etc. Going to talk to nursery to find out how bouncy he is there - I want to check that he is "just" bouncy and not ADHD or anything. I am 99% sure he is fine, but that 1% niggles when he won't focus on anything for more than 2 seconds.
Also didn't know EPPM had anther name. (But glad to see I'm not the only one!)
Flame - Obviously I haven't seen ds for a long time, but suspect he is a three year old boy who has just realised he has to share his mum.
Glad you are feeling better (and Yay for tax credits saving Christmas!)
Wouldn't even try a sleepover with ds. Staying at my parents was a disaster in the summer, and I can't imagine having someone here would be much better.
Jas, you must be psychic. ds1 much better thanks, but now I've got severe tonsilitis. Not eaten since Sunday night... must've lost weight, jeans fit better again
but its so so sore. dh whining cos had to take days off work and he's been 'so busy going up to school and back that he hasnt had time to eat properly'
, but in fairness he did manage to get me a prescription without me going to gp, cos I just couldnt drag myself there.
What you mean eppm is someone else too??!!
I didn't realise that none of you knew about EPPM's other name. Good job I haven't said what it is!
But where are you EPPM - come and say hello on here?! Or I'll tell everyone your name and they will hunt you down
.
Yuk for tonsils.
Ds behaviour probably just a reaction to dd2's arrival flame. Dd was a monster for quite some time.
<<decloaks>>
I am here... sorry, not managing to keep up with much atm
My <cough> other identity is quite prominent this week
please don't say though.
Obviously this is where csws's spreadsheet comes into its own.. as I did once accidentally out myself to you all.
I want to know about csws's interesting email! [nosey]
mrm- how is the coughing up blood thing? no more I hope. Hope DS1 is fully recovered.
CSWS- good to hear about DS sleeping through more- must make life a lot easier (well, at least easier to deal with)
Flame- hope tonsils are better soon, and good that dd2 is settling down a bit. (yes, it is odd typing dd2
) I'm sure DS is just having a wobble due to dd2's arrival... my dd was same as csws's and was harder to deal with than ds in the first few months tbh.
Phoenix- hope you're well, and your boys too... ds2 must have grown loads, will try and peek on fb later.
Jas- glad dp has more work on... and YAY! for nice empty house! (gives you chance to do more flying
)
Frizbe- glad official opening went well
you sound very busy though, and hope you're getting some time to yourself too.
We had a lovely half term- was so nice to have DD home, and DS really enjoyed it - he has got to the stage where he can sort of 'play' with her, so they had lots of fun together. We had a few days out too which were nice, as the weather stayed really warm and dry here. It's freezing now though <<shiver>>
DS (now 9mo) has g r o w n ... is huge... a bit of nominal determinism going on there I think
He can lift dd's (large size) wheelybug with one hand
He has his first nursery visit next week
- he'll be doing 2 (v short) days per week in December, and I'm back to work beginning of January (officially FT, though have a lot of leave to use by April 1st).
I don't know where this year has gone... and I'm not sure he's ready to be separated actually, he's not as independent as DD was, and is in a mildly clingy stage atm. I did 6 hours at work yesterday ('keeping in touch' day), and he was fine- but DH had a day off work and looked after him... and DS is a Daddy's boy, so they had a fine old time. Think nursery may be a different story <<wibble>>
Oh, not fair EPPM. Now I REALLY want to know who else you are.
Never mind.....I got an interesting email, and I'm not telling what was in it!
How are you today mrm?
DS is getting very grown up. Nusresy has been great fr him. His speach is really god now, and occasionally he listens to me
I even let him walk without the reins now. One day I will leave the buggy at home...
EPPM
Ah! You're still up then?
Who needs sleep? Overrated imo.
DS has been a git for a good 12 months
Sulking about not knowing EPPM's other name, assuming that the email is the conversation I had with CSWS on messenger, if not, I may be forced to sulk about that too.
for MRM's tonsillitis.
@ baby EPPM being 9 months! DS was much more clingy and dependent than DD1 ever was, but he thrived in nursery
DS keeps telling me he doesn't like preschool, just nursery
I think it is only because his bestest friend in the world is always at nursery and only one session at preschool, but tbh, given the choice I think I would prefer nursery to preschool. If nothing else they let him suck his thumb when he's tired.
I want to know, cos noe am making wild assumptions eppm!
Tonsilitis def on the mend thanks to dh getting me drugs
but noe ds2 ill. So it was ds1 Thurs till sUnday, me Mon till onw, ds2 yesterady onwards. Thank God have afriend to take ds1 to school... shr got up 6.40am to manage it
and best friend taking ds2 to docs in buggy later.
Loving the detox aspect tho; have had a banana and half a pear, and 2 litres of lucozde, since sunday!! My jeans fit again!!
Breastfeeding plus tonsillitis have worked wonders for my jeans fitting too
Aha! You passed me tonsilitis via text somehow
So how come I didnt lose any weight from breastfeeding?
What size jeans you back to? Just being nosy.
Dairy-free mrm... that's the way to go... mainly because you can't actually eat anything!
I am not a troll, or doing bumsex, or anyone with a smelly fanjo, or in fact anything particularly interesting... in truth I was just feeling a little bit too fruity and too mummyish (especially now there are 2 of them) and wanted a change.
Yes email was what you already know about flame. Did you get my fb message eppm?
Just testing
Aha, it wouldn't let me post yesterday.
Hello
For once i know something that most of you don't. I remember EPPM accidently outing herself and i recognised her on a baby name thread too
(i have forgotton what it is now though)
Boys are ok thanks, Noah's got yet another cold and cough at the moment though. He had started mostly sleeping through or only waking for his dummy but he's waking a lot right now cos he can't breath well cos of his cold. He's just gone 4 month old
for new shop opening Friz
for ds sleeping through csws
Glad ds likes preschool and it's improved his speech Jas
How's baby dd Flame?
Hope all your lot are better mrm
gah - i remember the outing, but not the name! Mumofmonsters told me her new name the other day and I completely forgot she'd namechanged let alone what it was until i spotted her posting
Baby lovely - very very placid. Doesn't shut up with sort of chattering grunts, but v little in the way of crying.
MRM - not telling. you will throw things
for noah having another cold.
does anyone else take ages to settle into baby names? I still think of her as "the baby" rather than carys, I was the same with B but don't remember being like it with Emrys... not too sure if it is where it wasn't my first choice for names (neither was B) that it takes me a while, or if everyone is like it?
Are you using those Karvol vaporisors Phoenix? I find them v good.
Both of mine had their names sorted for so long before the births that they fit them straight away.
No idea what would happen if we had another and didn't find out the sex and weren't sure of names beforehand.
<<whistles innocently>>
I called DS a few things before he was DS (despite the fact that DH picked his name, and called him that from the start) - I just wanted to make sure it was right (and still not 100% sure
though can't go changing it now [stoical])
I cannot imagine going a whole pg not knowing the gender... would drive me insane... though obviously didn't actually help me narrow down names particularly early
It would be interesting to see if there was any difference don't you think CSWS?
I know I can't change DD2's name because DH very much didn't agree with my name iyswim, so being good and not trying it out on her. <lies>
I love th enot knowing gneder thing eppm (typing in dark, sorry) - it is great when you get the
face from people who ask if you know what you're having and you say "A baby"
Ah, I saw her on the baby name thread phoenix <what a sad life I lead>
Flame, 10? Surely not 8?
yup to first one... not sure even just my bones wpuld be an 8
Also love not knowing gender.
DD1 was her name from the start (would have been nameless if a boy though).
DD2 was Louise in the hospital, then Twinkle for 6 weeks, and then officially named, but still baby/Twinkle for months
DS as you may remember was Boy for an age, and even once named was Boy/the baby for a very long time.
My friends ds is almost 9 months and has the wrong name.....she is to scared to change it now though.
mrm/ Frizbe....will you just shout at me if I ask how to put on weight/muscle?
I got a big mirror for my birthday, so am now aware of just how skinny my top half is - visible ribs
. Not a good look, but not sure where to start....
Jas - there was a weight gain group in the big/slim section at one point
DD was Bronwyn from day one, then at about 36 weeks I changed to Jennifer, which DH didn't like. i still see her as a Jennifer.
DS wasn't completely agreed on but Emrys fitted him from birth.
DD2 - we didn't have any set names. I liked Aderyn from early on, but DH didn't like it and kept saying Adenna. Carys was our "name we didn't both hate"
Oh no Flame, Bronwyn is very much a Bronwyn to me
Jas, put on weight
well for me eating works, or sometimes even just looking at food....however I know that's not what you want to know
I would imagine eating lots of protein and carbs, whilst doing certain weights would do the trick, I think I saw the thread that Flame's on about too.
MRM boo for being poorly, hope you and ds2 are better soon.
Phoenix, boo for Noah being poorly too
Hope he's not keeping you up all night or anything?
waves at CSWS and EPPM, I can't remember your other name 'mushroom'
Managed to start the xmas shopping this week! then dd2 decided to go through the argos catalogue today, so I now have a definiative list of 'everything'
ujas, you could do what dh does. Spend all your bloody income on mscle gain supplements and eat so much that you ignore your kids in favour of cooking
it does work tho!
Yes he is Friz. He goes down ok and sleeps til around 1-2am when he gets snuffly and ends up wide awake and smiley
. If i didn't bring him into bed with me or come down and sleep on the sofa with him he'd be up then.
We didn't know if Lewis was a boy or a girl so had a boy and girl name. Girl name was Amy Jo and boy was Lewis James, which we obviously used
Noah was Noah as soon as we knew he was a boy. Had no idea for a girl though. His middle name is Rhys and that is what dh wanted to be his first name but i got my way so i let it be his middle name
I got a Karvol vapouriser yesterday csws but he was still up in the night. They are good though so thanks for the tip
Is anyone else having trouble posting or is it dh's laptop that's useless? (mine has gone off to be mended so i'm using his)
It's just you I'm afraid Phoenix.
If i preview then post it works but clicking straight on post doesn't work.
Meant to add before, someone on my other PN thread has just changed her baby girls name.
Why, and what from and to?
Mind you, I know someone in RL who did that last year too.
She didn't say why she just put at the bottom of a long post 'small annoncement: I have changed dds name from Ruby to Ishbel' and she hasn't been back on since.
csws- I remember you mentioning that before I think... didn't she change it from something normal to something rather odd (both beginning with F)?
2 people on my other pn thread are considering changing their DD's names... I think one (LG&T) may have already done it!
Jas- I think if you feel it's the wrong name, you have to change it, even if they're 9 mo... they'll soon learn a new one.
Frizbe- I am being dim I'm sure, but what is the 'mushroom' reference?
Baby name thread? Was this utterly ages ago or recently?
I am happy to tell you, but would be by email, not on here!
Good memory EPPM - absolutely right!
Oh, am not hiding any more ladies, as name changing is too much of a faff, so for the benefit of those that don't already know, I am pregnant again, due end of June next year (which makes me about 7 or 8 weeks).
Oh congratulations csws. I was a bit suspicious from one of your posts the other day

Just looked back, it was the whistles innocently comment that had me thinking
Yes, that was me being cheeky! Thanks Phoenix.

Let's hope you won't be posting something like this
Oh and why am I feeling
????
My face is still looking like this ====>
Yay! I know I knew already but still yay!
I'd better bloody well not be EPPM!!
Lots of my friends are taking delight in suggesting that it might be twins, because I've had a couple of waves of nausea, which is double what I had in the other two pregnancies put together!
I can't imagine why you'd be
. Anyone would have to be mad to plan a third pregnancy with 2 dc as young as ours! (This wasn't planned, in case you hadn't realised). Still, I reckon that at least half of third pregnancies are accidents, unless there's a very large age gap and/or a change of partner in between.
I'd like eppm to have a thrid, so I can see what she calls it. Not that you dont all have good names, but I love hers! Seems like a good enough reason to me...
Phoenix I have to do the preview thing for mine to work 1st too? odd eh?
CSWS
congratulations! I thought you were, it was a heavy hint
There goes the spare room eh!
EPPM, 'mushroom' fed on ** and kept in the dark
Right off to put the kids to bed, maybe back later, maybe not....
We'll still have one spare room Friz!
Talking of names, have no idea what we'll call this one if it's a boy. I'd be happy with Zachary, Jesse or Ezra, but dh won't consider any of those. We'd go for Dominic if it wasn't the same initial as ds. Foolishly we gave ds our other fave name as his middle name, and we just can't think of anything that compares.
I like Ezra alot (also vetoed by dh here first time round). Jessee will get the piss taken mercilessly, Zach too popular now. I still wish i'd had a cgance to use mY Tudor and Heath, but that wouldve meant more kids

I know a Jesse. Middle name James
Hasn't caused a problem yet, but he is ds' age.
I can post, but threads are taking so long to load that I've given up trying to look just for lurking purposes...
I knew a very fuckable charming Jesse a few years back - similar age to me I think. It didn't seem to have done him any harm.
I also knew a similarly charming Jesse once
I like the name Jesse. NappiesGalore gave their DS3 DS1's middle name as a first name I think (I know two of them have a name in common, but can't remember who has what) as they ran out of names they agreed on
Personally I'm not so sure about Jesse....MRM I reckon you need some animals to use the names up on! Goldfish would do
CSWS, so you have, I forgot you'd built another room for dd, how very silly of me
Well I thought I was having a bad day with car trouble (it started sounding very bad, so I took to garage and needs new waterpump and cam belt, bye bye money) but then I just heard from a friend up in Scotland, whose ground floor is disappearing under water....
Oh no for your friend Friz
Watched the enid blyton documentary and finally discovered what the book was that I remember from childhood.... guessing I won't be buying a copy
So pissed off. I was in primary school when I read a friend's copy and have never forgotten it, then as an adult couldn't quite work out how I had read Pilgrim's Progress as a child...
k, I learnt a lesson today. If you have to wear fancy dress t oyur dhilds party, plan it a bit. Othwerwise you end up wearing an aged 7-8 skeleton outfit
lol
I can assure you that I would not end up wearing anything aged 7-8.
How is the pole dancing going mrm? There was some on House the other day and it made me think of you.
I don't remember that one Flame...
Urgh for car troubles Fizbe
mrm
I'm afraid if I have a 3rd, I won't be calling it Tudor...
Actually, we'd be pretty stuck for a name I think... (we used up 6 on our 2)... we had a girls name for ds... but now we have the names we have, we'd need one that went with them, so a bit stumped.
I can't see me ever wearing something 7-8 either!
not done pole for ages csws; too much sickness and non sleeping kids
skeleton outfit came to my knees, and top just under bust
Had another top on underneath obv.
at your outfit MRM
Well I looked at my tummy compared to my two friends who I spent the weekend with and decided I really need to boot my exercise up the arse again, I looked great back in June, now I'm looking podgy again
I've only put on half a stone, but its all sagging in the middle......
Anyway spent Sat night and today in Brum with the girls
feeling re-charged! lovely meal out last night, followed by German mkt and shopping for dh's Xmas prezzie today
then came home and grabbed dh n kids and drove to Leeds to take ss back, you can't say I don't get about eh!
Car is all fixed, as you may guess, although I think we need to look at changing it shortly, as its coming upto the big 100 on the engine, which for a citroen may not be so good.....
Same here Friz, cept I've put a stone on
I'm hardly trainingh ata ll. Remeber all the dilemma of not getting tummy tuck done cos it's mean 6weeks off training? Might aswell have done it now really

So, thoughtwe were all out of the woods, but no. More sickness. ds2 hacking cough. ds1 spots all over face growing alarmingly and matching ones on my torso
off school today docs at 11. ds2 trying to help himself to cough mixture
OMG where is everyone?!
How are you MRM? you sound like you've all been having one hell of a crappy week? are you all well yet?
We're off down south this weekend, have meetings re work on Saturday, but hopefully will get to see Flame on Sunday
DS has weirdy spots at the moment too
<bouncing lots> Benefits sorted!! We have money, plus they did indeed backdate them, so I can repay what mum loaned us to get us through, and we can have some sort of christmas
Frizbe - what's all this "hopefully"???? You will be seeing Flame or a small girl will set out to walk to your house...
Yay for having Christmas!
Gallstone flare up overnight - big ouch. First one since just after having dd.
Eer yuk csws. What does it actually feel like then?
Flame, send me a pic of spots so I can see if same! ds1's getting better, mine suddently spread yesterday over whole chest and on one wrist
Havin a chillout day today , after the school xmas fayre yest... we were there from 10am to 7.40pm, I think I ended up covering just about every stall in the place at some point. Did get an hour with the boys though... they loved the dodgems
. Too windy for helterskelter and the bid inflatable slide, which was a shame, but we still had teacup waltzers, chairoplanes, 2 sideshow things, bouncy castle, small inflatable slide, cooking, crafts, tombolas, guessing games, lucky dip, food etc. Phew!
And I wore a great Mother Xmas outfit from Poundland!
It feels f*ing awful mrm. Have spent today at A&E as got worse again.
It's bad enough that I'd consider surgery whilst pregnant.
csws
MRM - they look like teething spots tbh, but afaik he already has all his teeth. Argh for how long you were at the xmas thing!!
Got to play with Frizbe and family yesterday
DD1 did her thing when she has had too many additives and processed crap - yelled about tummy ache then threw up (better still, she did it in the car on the way to lunch
), got her home and cleaned up, and she slept for the rest of the visit. Woke just after they went home very bouncy, and cried because she'd missed them
.
What happened at A&E csws? Did they do anything to help? Poor you.
So Flame, does Friz really look flabby, or is she just saying that to make me feel better? <puts Flame in very awkward position>
To MRM: Yes, she looks appalling.
To Frizbe: You look stunning
<lies to one of them but doesn't say who>
CSWS I can only imagine how horrible they must feel {{{big hugs}}} can they operate now then?
MRM your day sounds exhausting! well done on it all though
Flame, dd1 is missing your dd1 too
and has asked when you'll be visiting again! I said soon (ish) at which point dh said he thought you might come larping at some point! (I think he was trying to persuade your dh) ......
MRM she's lying about me, I have one hell of a flabby tummy! if I sit down and do that pinch and inch thing, its more of a pinch a whole muffin top...
more sit ups req'd me thinks!
Anyway in case you'd not gathered we're home, had a lovely weekend down south
just a shame we had to come back so early today for dh to get to work tonight, so didn't even get to stop off anywhere on way home, bah! foiled again......we have stock check to do tomorrow, so all hands on deck (well kinda, ahem, I appear to have accidently booked the hairdressers in the middle of the day, ahem, errrr, sidles off sideways looking a bit sheepish)
Hello.
I'm not avoiding you all,but am having computer issues (It is dying
). It crashes regularly and I seem to have a real problem loading threads from here, so tend not to try.
CSWS - My neighbour has gallstones. I will never forget seeing her when she had her first attack. I could see the pain she was in
. She is controlling it mostly with diet but has lost masses of weight as a result.
I do hope you are feeling better and get something done to help.
Big waves to everyone else>>>>>
Mrm, Jas, csws - Is it worth buying an oyster card for a 2 night trip to London? And what is good to do for 2 people who have never stepped foot in London? We're going to see Oliver and maybe another show.
Hope everyone's ok
Quick post as Noah has taken to not sleeping unless i'm near him, aaaaaargh.
Feeling much better today
.
A&E just did a urine test, some blood tests, and a bit of prodding and poking, then agreed with my diagnosis and sent me home still in pain with some codeine
.
I know bugger all about Oyster cards, but I'd have thought that you'd just want a travelcard each for each of the days that you're there. When is the trip? Where are you staying? Do you want to do traditional touristy stuff or not? Does seeing Buck Palace hold any appeal whatsoever? I presume this is without the dc, so we don't need to recommend the science museum etc?
Oh wow, when you coming? <mrm gets all excited about a friend coming!> I know you wont want me to barge in on your romantic break, but I can help you plan! Go to Tussauds on a day dh is working, I'm sure he can get you in free
. You'll have to tell me what kind of things you want to do though, limit it a bit! Def go to Sorastros for lunch/tea before the show, the decor is amazing.
We're going Jan 14th - 16th, it's our christmas present from my mum, dad, gran and grandad. We're staying at The Grosvener, near to Victoria Station. We'll probably do all general touristy things, Dh is even willing to brave the london eye even though he's scared of heights
.
Mrm - are you sure about sorastros? Dh is just reading the reviews and it doesn't come out good
The food is average, and its West End prices. But the decor is fab!! And if you go on certain nights (Sun and Mon??) you get the understudies from the royal opera house doing a show for free while you eat.
Will cetainly send you tickets for the Eye/. Just dont lose the card, as it'll probably be full as its so close to the start of the year! We never used at all pre-kids, but now we seem to get through them all!
I've just checked dh's rota <sad case alert> and he's on 11-7 on the 14th and 15th, so could meet you and let you in
Oooo, and if happen to be near st Pauls there's a great pub, scary theme, with the toilets hidden in a bookcase
Will try and remember the name.
Go to all the free galleries etc. Free is good.
Mrm - Don't be silly if you will use all the card then don't bother sending it to us you may as well use it
I didnt mean thjat! We dont use them all personallly, so whoever asks gets until we run out, keeping some for ourselves.
Oh ok
toilets in a book case, is it a pitcher n pendlum?
Jas, mine was funny with this site for a while, but I think it was the site, rather than the pc iuswim?
On here at eeeeeekkkk o'clock as some fkn burgler has just set off the alarm at new store and monitoring stn have rung all and sundry, so have packed dh off in car to survey damage (if any n not false alarm, but two trips = confirmed they think, so police got informed too, so I think real, sigh.....feckers.....) Is a bit silly really to attempt it though as not only is place alarmed, but street outside is major cctv hotspot! dur and doh.
well hurrah for alarms, the door had been tried, hence the two alerts, but they appear to have been scared off, woot etc, now where's my bed.....have larp tomorrow for wkend, yawn.
Why has all the text on this thread just gone red as I've clicked on it - weird!
Yay for not being broken into Friz.
mrm - we haven't seen you guys for ages. What's the likelihood of a meet up over the Christmas holidays?
How's the stones CSWS?
Where is everyone? are you all bonkers busy doing Xmas stuff?
We had our larp xmas event the weekend just gone, was good fun
Have spent today grabbing stocking fillers and wrapping them, plus getting dh's presents sorted when he went to work and dd1 was at a craft evening, so she won't see them and tell him!
Yes, fairly busy with Christmassy stuff....
I hope all are well on here. I've just not got time t keep up at the moment.
csws.....do you still have the shoes I left at your place last year??
DS is a disaster at night time at the moment, and turns ff the computer if I'm on it when he is up
, dds have shows and parties and clubs to get to and from.
I haven't dne enough present shopping yet either....
Yes - I still have them stashed away in the top cupboard in the hall Jas. Can't believe that I've not seen you all year to give them back! Do you need them for Christmas parties?
I remembered them when I went out last week, but it would be cheaper to get you to post them than buy more......I don't need them that urgently, but could you send them to me and I'll refund the postage?
I know, I understand that all the extra babies makes everyone else busier, but why am I busier and more run down??
I think it gets harder as they get older.
Sorry. Not having a god evening (again) with ds.
See, this is why I should come on here and not just face book! I'm guessing I'd have known CSWS's news long ago! Yay for another baby
and hello to everyone else. What's new?
Jas - no advice, DS is a shit. I ended up today with him on my back and DD2 on my front because it was easier than him running away etc.
Sorry for not being on here much, brain pretty much melted atm.
Hello again Dame
missed ya!
Flame, I wanna see picks of that
{{{Hugs}}} Jas, its no fun when they play up is it.....dd2 keeps attempting to lately, we have been spending rather a lot of time putting her on naughty step etc.....
Am just about on top of Xmas here, girls all sorted, working on finishing off ss's stuff. Have school xmas concert tomorrow and then xmas fair in evening, followed by dd2's concert next week on Tue I think.
I'm nowhere near on top of xmas
Taking DD1 to rainbows church parade in a bit - she's nervous but I know she'll love the crafty bit afterwards if I can convince her to go. I was
that DH didn't know what a christingle was... didn't realise that Catholics don't do them.
DD2 is in disposables
Washing and life in general has all gotten a bit too much this week, and I decided to take one less job out of the equation in the run up to Christmas. Feels very wrong though!
Had a couple of sessions with chiropractor so far, today is the day after one so she should be more settled for the day <looks at miserable baby and ain't convinced>. A friend I met of MN has lent me her amby (yes, I have read the news stuff), and she will sleep in that better than she does flat, but still not as good as the wedged in with pillows method.
DS is still a git.
Think that is it for me!
Any luck with couriers yet Frizbe?
flame, at that party we went to on SAt, I overheard dh having a conversation with another Dad about reusable nappies
Like I said, I'd never done christingle as a kid, even tho cofe school and church and brownies
csws, would love to get together over xmas hols yes. Wanna come here? Or I can get train to ou with booster seats in tow? When are you free? I'm vaguely entertaining the idea of taking kids up to see Mum between new yr and term at some point, but in reality, I donr think I can face it on the train with them. They argue constantly, and its a huge trek when they're like that! Ita about5.5hrs door to door. I know I'm pathetic
So anyway, I think we're free xmas eve (!), or boxing day (!) of the day aftr, and most days after that!! I'll check calendar properly.
csws - how do you fancy a visit either half term or easter? I haven't seen you in soooooooooooooo long now
for cloth nappy talk. DH doesn't mention them any more because his work people were mean to him
<Ahem, I havent seen you either Flame, but I dont get offered a visit>
Hello! don't fight there girls, why don't you both go and visit CSWS
then you can all see each other
MRM where does your mum live again? Cornwall?
Flame, no, courier not sorted, tis Xmas, can't get co's to talk rates in silly season...need to sort out how much we're shipping next year to get decent rates, gah
So how are you all coping?
My week has gone to pot, was planning lots of wrapping of stuff, (luckily kids done) as dh has gone and fallen ill.....suspected stomach ulcer, Dr has given drugs today, but he's had it since Sunday am, blagged his way gthru Sunday then had mega reflux since, so not eaten or slept since midnight (when he woke me up) Sun/Mon......
Hoping the tablets do the trick, but when I picked them up was told 2/3 days to kick in......obviously if they don't work, its hospital investigation time, but fingers x'd it is an ulcer and these will do the job! (he is quite highly strung
anyway this has meant I've had to work his shifts as well as mine! the perils of business....meanwhile Gran was read her last rites last night, but has perked up again
have to see how long that lasts.....tis the seaon to be jolly.....
Er, no. Shropshire. Wherer did you conjure that idea up from?!
Looks like csws might get an enforced get together at her house!
All I can say this week is.... ARGH
Ds1 off again vomiting, I still have spots all over my torso, and the dinner money cheque wasnt cashed at the strat of term so we're £70 in arrears which I thought had been paid. I assume the cheque is down the back of a filing vcabinet or something. Needless to day, we dont have £70 now.
how does 30th suit you mrm? Which location would you prefer?
Flame - already have visitors planned for half term, but easter would be good.
At hospital at the mo having my glucose tolerance test. Fun fun fun!
30th sounds fine to me. Dont ask me to make a location decision!! Would be good to come to you as kids love the train. But if its this cold I realistically dont think I'll want to
and if still snowing there might not be a train anyway!! ds1 wants to come to you tho [hmnm]
I hope the trains are running. I've just booked tickets to take the children to my mums before Christmas.....and dps mum has said she will come to us after.
. I may be being cynical, but it will be her first visit in 9 years if she does make it here.
Ds still thinks sleep is for the weak, and I am busy with shows and parties (all children. Nothing fun for me just yet)
I do have a day at the Sanctuary booked n Sunday though

Sorry. I did read the rest of the thread, honestly
Frizbe
re gran. Did she make it home at all?
I hope dh's meds are helping him. Not nice for him, but equally not nice for everyone around him if he is like alot of men when ill....
Mrm - I hope you and yours are better, too.
I pay dinners weekly (I hate doing it but dd2 much prefers it to my packed lunches), it is much easier on the wallet that way.
CSWS - I couldn't work out why you were having GTT for a while there
. How was it? Have you being eating as if diabetic again in preparation?
Dame - <<big waves>> Nothing new here
Flame - I had dd2 in disposables alot more than the other two. No one except you will think twice about it.
Is she not happy?
I'd just buy gift vouchers for everyone this year and point to the small baby if anyone questions it.
I've just finished wrapping all my presents. Everything except main presents for the children done now.
I want to buy ds and dd2 a small flat screen tv for their room. DP thinks it is a rubbish present but has no better ideas. They may well end up with nothing at this rate.
Yeah, but weekly involves the organisational capacity to have the money and remnember to take it in every week
I know we took the cheque for the dinners cos it was £72 and was at the same time as the £80 maintainence fund money, so it was a huge pay out all at once.
If you've got any Ikea time during the golh Jas, ds1 really wants to see your girls! Or you're welcome here of course.
ds2 still mithering about his birthday already <sigh>
I'd love to mrm....the girls ask, too, but with no car, I'm not sure I can face it
Maybe between christmas and new year if it isn't snowy.
Ds has been telling everyone he is getting a spiderman cake for his birthday since last March!
Well it sounds like you should come to me then mrm, but we'll reassess if it's majorly snowy or something.
GTT was not a good result. I have borderline diabetes already - seeing specialist mw again on Monday.
Enjoy the Sanctuary tomorrow Jas!
Oh no CSWS
for the diabetes again, what a bummer.....
MRM sick again, oh poor your {{Hugs}}
about the cheque too, we pay weekly here too, same as Jas.
Jas, I reckon a TV is an ok prezzie, or how about a cheap CD player? saw an ok looking one for £20 is Sainsbs today.
Was
of all your snow, but we've just got a load falling now, so
after all.
Gran passed away yesterday evening
but its for the best really and it happened fast, so she wasn't in any pain or anything and my auntie/uncle managed to get there in time to say goodbye too. 95 is a good innings all in all eh, hope I make it that long!
dd1 has been a right pita today, refused to go to her friends party....decided she was 'so over soft play' so I had to take dd2 and the present instead, along with a huge apology
Left the errant dd1 with dh.
Just on my way out
I'm really sorry to hear about your gran Frizbe, but I'm glad someone could be with her at the end.
Bad news re the diabetes, csws. Is it alot earlier on in the pg this time? I hope you can control it again.
Sorry to hear about your gran Frizbe, but you're right, 95 is a good innings.
Jas - got it at 17 weeks last time, and 12 this time, so a bit earlier yes, and last time was exceptionally early!
((((hugs)))) CSWS, GD is no fun
On the other hand, you are a dab hand at it all now, so hopfully will sail thorough it all with no bother and we can all come and fawn over your new offspring sometime next year
and I would say leaving our other sprogs at home, but dd1 has developed an affinity for flames dd1, so you may have to start renting out tent space.
Ta for your thoughts anyway girls, tis late and I've had far tooo much booze and late night comedy on tv
Oh and bollox, this evening I get around to wrapping 80gbp worth of dh's xbox games to find that sainsbo's have given me empty boxes..................are you watching the tumble weed.....................what's the betting that, as I brought these a month ago, they have no descrepencies in their cd's versus x'box files.............
if only I'd not been in such a hurry/weighed down with stuff I might have checked them along with the dvd's which they managed to get me the dvd's for
We have lots of snow
all kids very happy about that, sledging a plenty.
Meanwhile, having passed its mot on Friday, with £320 additional bits done on it, my car decided to start making an odd noise on Saturday.....I took it back to garage today and they reckon its the gearbox, want £600 to repair it....gulp....rang my dad, whose retired garage owning mate is giving me a 2nd opinion tomorrow and can hopefully halve the cost
Ooh, Frizbe, that doesn't sound good. I hope you can get it sorted for less than that.
Did you take the game boxes back to sainsburys?
I had a lovely day at the spa yesterday. I felt all grown up, and had a wonderful treatment, plus a whole day of me-time
I've had all my friends here today for mulled wine and mince pies, and tomorrow I need to shop. Not looking forward to having to take all threee kids with me on the ice though. My only chance of getting out alone is if the weather is too bad for dp to get to work.
Are we all ready for Christmas then?
(I still haven't got a main present for dd2 and ds
)
Oh get the TV Jas. I thought it was a fine idea.
Am crossing my fingers for Ocado being able to get here through the ice and snow tomorrow night, as otherwise we're screwed!
What did Sains say Friz? That is terrible really. You shouldn't need to check the boxes really should you.
Oh bugger - just realised that I haven't sent your shoes yet Jas. Just as an alternative to posting them, would it be easy for you to pick up from Roydon Hamlet, or from mrm if I gave them to her on 30th?
I need to make a decision by tomorrow, as we are going to be away wed/thurs, but dp will have to buy it as there is no way I am driving on this ice, and I think the children would notice if I tried to put it on the buggy
Pick up from where, csws?? Not got a clue where that is. Is it your inlaws?
Also gt no idea when I will see mrm next. All my holiday arrangements have changed in the past week, and may well be changing again.
I'm happy to wait if you can post them next year csws. There really is no rush
It's just past Nazeing. But we can sort out in new year.
Alot closer to me. I've probably driven through it without realising then.
I def wouldn't be able to go anywhere until the children are back at school even if dp is working evenings, due to the 2 seat van/three childre issue.
omg Friz, what a mare. Thats worse thsn dh getting the wrong game for ds1 and me just ssuming he was sensible enough to follow orders
So, there's TONS od snow, but no text yet to say school is closed. I'm gonna see if me ans ds2 can do something in nursery this morn, cos we've got drinks with the head at 11, so its not owrth going home and back again (home for 9.30 leave at 10.30), and then nursery is only 1.5 hrs this afternoon anyway
Hoping school issopen as its last day and I have eight items of ds1's lost proprty to find!
for your gran Friz and
for the games.
I went to wrap my sister's book tonight to discover that a big chunk of the pages in the middle are glued in halfway up the page and then the top sliced off
Grr at the GD Tabs.
Um, forgotten most other things. Oh yes, Easter sounds good - no idea where it falls this year, I have a wedding 19th March...
I am pretty much all wrapped, and about to put the tree up (finally).
I can't get a coil fitted until 22nd Jan, and she says no sex until 6 weeks after fitting
I tried to book the fitting appointment at the same time as my swabs one, but was told I couldn't, and now I have to wait ages. I get pregnant too easily to trust any other contraceptive.
Oh and we are about the only place in the country to have no soddin snow
Oh Flame {{hugs}} for no snow, can you pop up to Winchester, apparently they have some? Couldn't you get the implant fitted instead? might be quicker on appointments?
re the book, wasn't the kids was it?
(was it from Borders?)
Jas, a day of wine and pies sounds lovely
I think you should go with the TV idea.
MRM still at school
I had no idea that anyone was!
CSWS, Sainsbo's here in my town.....I took them back this am, and they said 'no reciept, tricky' (I got rid of the reciepts to stop dh finding out what I'd got him, stupidly),so I said look its your stickers on the boxes, I think I did the transaction on my debit card, it will certainly be showing on my nectar card records, and if you do a stock check you will see that you have more discs than boxes!!! they said find the dates on your bank statements, so I went to the car and handily went back with my statements upto end of Nov (year end at work! so had 'em on me! much to their surprise) so now they're looking into it for me......to be honest I'm not expecting much joy, but you never know. I'm annoyed at myself for not checking the pile of stuff in the first place, but as the stuff on top was ok, I'd assumed it all was.......
Meanwile car stories....got a 2nd opinion today off my dad's mate (retired, used to have his own garage) and its the wheel bearings, so I went back to my local garage, informed them, and its going back in tomorrow morning to be repaired
not such an expensive job after all, but
at the garage, not had problems with them before, but not such good service this time me thinks......
Tempted to drive to Winchester - have a friend there. More rain here.
No to implant, can't do hormones - the coil is a copper one.
Book was for my sister, so not too much problem. Meri said as it is a publisher problem the shop should just change it for me.
[
@ your car.
Sorry Friz ans csws, I just realised I didnt say anything about your Gran/GD
. But you know I mean well.
Friz, there really isnt a day goes by that I dont think of my Nan. She was just so cool. I think I'm becoming more and more like herein many ways as I get oldr too! (not that I'm cool
)
ok so school was open but closed at 1pm not 2.30 due to the ice, so there was no nursery for ds2 as it starts at 1. He was a bit upset. But we still went there anyway to get my christmas pressie from his teacher
. Xmas drinks in the staff room were postponed till New year tho
ds1's teacher is sorted, as they still had tons of food left fom the party on Monday!
Lazy day tody as dh is off, so he's gone on errands with ds2; me and ds1 are milling around here, he's doing some crafts.
Oh don't worry MRM
there are lots more things going on! Sorry your drinks got postponed, bummer....
Flame, darn, I forgot about that...'snip' dh then, its the only way
mwah hahahahahaha
So what's everyone been upto today then?
I've had kids to play, fetched car from garage (got apology, apparently it should have been picked up on MOT check and staff have been spoken too!) been to Meri's for natter with other mums n CAKE! yummy, hairdressers for girls, home for the plumber (my heating broke last night, he came last call of the day to sort my thermostat out and said 'don't pay me till next year, just in case something else goes wrong! fingers x'd it doesn't and yay for not paying him till next year
and lets face it, I keep him in business, as this system generally breaks twice a year......due to being fitted by cowboys in the 1st place..) I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow for the peace and quiet!
lol @ keeping the plumber in business
The plan is for me to be snipped, but I want to wait at least 12 months (want to be at the 12 months feeding stage before I mess about with anaesthetic if at all possible). I know I never want any more pregnancies, so it is for my own peace of mind iyswim. DH can get snipped if he wants, but I know there is no way in hell my mental state could handle another pregnancy.
Flame, I always think its a shem they didnt do me while they were in thewre getting ds2 out! Dh prob wouldve got snipped anyway cos he's so so so adament never to have any more offspring. But uif ut'd been me not him, I wouldnt have to hear 'but its not as bad as when I got snipped' every time one of us is ill
Friz, our plumber lives a 3 hour drive away. Dont ask!
So, we've got a friend popping by this morn so the kids cab exchange poundland gifts
then we're off to see Daddy at work cos he'ssgonna let the boys do some of the switching off (they close early today, so we should be out by 3.30pm). I made packed lunch, and it was supposed to include some far-far tubes as snacks, but ds2 appears to have scoffed them all for breakfast!
V proud of myself for already having bought next years xm,mas cards in the half price sale
So, dh finished shift at 3.30. But he'sstill here cos the boys have 'helping'
Just finished work here, am shattered! bath for me hopefully will revive me....
Cards already, well done MRM
I'll be off to get mine next week!
Flame, sounds like a plan, although it is a very major op for us women, so make sure, you're sure.
Merry Xmas to you all if I don't get on here tomorrow to say it! enjoy and don't get too stressed out by it all (if you can help it)
Not just catds Friz... Boots half price has started online, so I've got ds2's bday and dh'd bady and a few other bday things sorted
Hello, hope everyones had a great christmas
no tantrums from DS!!!!
6 year olds in Ben10 masks are creepy
3 year olds on xms day are a pest.
Aren't 3 year old's always a pest or is that just mine?
5mth olds are boring on christmas day
Just like any other day for him.
You were too late telling me about the boots sale mrm - the leapster2 game that I would have got for dd was already out of stock (she got leapster for Christmas).
Good but tiring Christmas here. Off to bed v shortly.
Lol, sorry csws!
I need to text you tmooo re plans for 30th; where and when and how etc
Today I got rest of dh and ds2 bday presestns, aNDVAL AND MOHTERS DAYS [GRIN]
You are too organised mrm. Today I got presents for a joint b'day party that we are going to on Tuesday, and they weren't even in a sale!
Are there any other sales I should look at btw? Have so far ordered from Boots (only a couple of bits) and lakeland, and been to John Lewis.
Bloody Lakeland had sold out of 4litre cereal clip-its..reduced to 2.99, and the 3.4 litre was reduced to only 3.99
I havent found anythoer good sales, no. Except Asda online, but I got there too late and everything I wanted was sold out of course! Went there today but tis only a small one and was mainly sold out. Altho got pjs for boys half price, and a long top/short dress thing for me. Tried on a cardy and ds1 said it lookded like a dressing gown
So, WEdnesday csws?...
1. I will just turn up to the station and hope there's a train. They're every half hour I thnik.
2. Will you pick us up? <hopefiul face> City or North? Do I need a booster seat with me?
3. What time?
4. Warning: ds1 is being obnoxious lately!
argh - mate had ds for tea... he had diarrhoea in pants, on floor etc
Lol
Oops flame!
mrm :-
1 - yes, but give us a vague idea of what sort of time you're aiming for.
2 - yes, one of us will. north preferably. yes to booster, as dd will obv want to come to pick up too. Can ds2 still fit in my ds' seat? If yes then you just need 1 booster, otherwise 2.
3 - sometime in the morning - anything after about 10 arrival I suppose.
4 - what's new
.
Any weird food aversions I should know about, or just anything veggie?
1. I guess I'm aiming to leave home about 9.30, so maybe get a 10am train. So arrive 10.30. Ish. I think for North i havr to change at city? Or is it the other way round?
Ok, I'm gonna look at a timetable!!
2. Booster/seat... no idea! Will work on the basis that yes ds2 wil fit, else I'll have to carry two! We'll squeeze him in somehow...
Oh yeah,
3. Food. I'm easy, but if you have fresh fid I'll eat the lot, no mattr how many you have. ds2 will eat pretty much anything, ds1 will eat pretty much nothing. If you want clean plates I'd just go for plain pasta
fresh fid?
Maybe fish

for ds Flame. How's your little lady doing?
I can't believe Noah is very nearly 6mths old
how did that happen?
Can't believe how organised you are mrm. I normally buy cards but haven't even done that this year. We went into town for about half an hour yesterday to spend Lewis' christmas money on some more Dsi games but apart from that haven't looked at any sales.
figs
<shudder at the thought of eating fish>
Phoenix, thats cos you've got a baby! You're not supposed to be organised!
Do you let him spend his xmas money then? Mean mother here puts all the money they get in the bank a)cos otherwise they'll have no savings when they grow up b) cos thats what I did when I was a child, hence I got thru uni without a loan c)they got so much for xmas, they dont need anything else!
ds1 just woke up & 1st thing he asked was it is tomo we're going to csws house, and if there will be cornin the field
christmas money tends to go into bank for extras through the year
csws, how about getting into North at 10.34am? I love how I spend 10 mins changing for a 3 min journey on the second trtain
Thrn home, can I aim to leave on the 5.17pm train? There's a 4.47, so maybe we should aim for that so I actually get the 5.17!
All sounds good to me mrm!
Yes we spend christmas/birthday money if there's something we want. I always did as a kid. Money they both got when they were born went in the bank and we put money in their accounts every month, well i say their accounts but it's really only Lewis' cos we haven't got round to opening one for Noah yet. I've been carrying his money in my bag since he was born
.
hurray got this for 15.99 including the three free baskets to go in the boys room. As they're growing,I'm finding they need shelves rather than big boxes to just shovel all the crap into! They have more display/preciuos things now.
Had to go to bloody Edmonton Green to get it tho; all sold out locally!
Lol at poor Noah's money!
I need to get more taller storage for the playroom, as the trofast stuff is great, but not enough to hold all of their stuff now, and it's only going to get worse when number 3 arrives! Upwards is the only way to expand what's in there already really!
I know what you mean; I had my eyes on something tall on ebay, but I'm still a bit
about ds2 and tall things, both in a falling onhim way, and a climbing up them way! You can get the tall Trofast you know
Oh yeah - I was forgetting that they do a really tall one too. Will have a ponder/browse later.
Will make a change from surfing for new cars!
Glad to be of help
Dont suppose you want to swap a small tv of yours for a huge one?
Friend gave us one, but back too wide to fit in fireplace. If it was smaller it would, or if it was small and crappy I'd break my rules and have it in our room!
Sadly not on the TV front. Since ds smashed the sony bravia we have no spares.
Right, am leaving in 5 mins
mrm - can you keep an eye out for something like this at Ikea please, with the big draw at the bottom, and make a note of the details if you see anything like it please?
Would that be a drawer csws?

Oops
.
Lol, at least mine is trying errors all the time, not errible spelling
. Yes, certaily will look out, I love a challenge
Right as you've all been nattering I'll post this bit first and then go and read what you've been upto! (I'm copying my march thread post!)
Xmas = nice chilled out day at my mums, dd2 was amusing woke up yelling for daddy as it was dark! took her 5 mins to spot the presents then all hell broke loose
swimming in sylvanian families now (both girls got them) but they're sharing very well I'm now addidicted to Rabbids Go Home on the Wii
which dh got for me!
Not having such a good new year though as dd1 projectile vomited from her bunk bed last night I managed to get a jug from the bathroom under her face and get her down the ladder and over the toilet before a second hit.....have had to throw the bottom matress out, as it had no cover on it, just a pile of toys and as she leant over, it took a major pounding
I wonder if IKEA sell buckets to hang off their bunk beds, just for this purpose? took an hour to clean the room, whilst dh sorted her, then she was up all night
have cancelled our new years party for tonight, fingers x'd no one else gets it.....
CSWS I have that for dd1's room in white, but without the big drawer on the bottom! was £25 from ikea, its a 8 cube stack and I got their pink fabric drawer things for the bottom two at I think it was £2.99 each, hth's.
I wouldn't have guessed figs
Happy New Year guys, although due to illness I may well be lurking later.....
Thanks Friz, now I dont neeed to look! Btw, I've finally claimed the brown cardigan, thank you!
ok ds1 has 3 jokes he made up for new year...
1.How do elves get presents? Ask santa. (double meaning cos you can ask him the answer to the q or they can ask him for the presents!)
2.How does superglue stop talking? Poo on its own mouth.
3. What kind of plant has one leaf? A leaf.
Geez MRM those jokes are nearly as bad as dd1's
I'd totally forgotten about that cardi!
You can still look for CSWS, as Ikea are always bringing new stuff out
and it gives you an excuse to meet Jaz at Ikea!
Hello
for dd1's sickness Friz. Hope no one else gets it. Has she been ok since?
great jokes mrm
Happy new year to you all
We're staying in tonight, as usual. Never really been into NYE going out.
Hi Phoenix
She last threw up this am, so fingers x'd she just needs lots of sleep now, that been said she's not eaten anything and that's always the true test
she's had two glasses of water and kept those down though, so hopefully she's ok
I'm not going to meet Jas, as she's a bit stuffed re car/van situarion, I'm going with ds2's teacher
csws, I've lost all my photos off my phone
inc the ones I took at yours
and xmas and christingle and ds1's birthday party. I think the memory card is just fucked for some reason, iot happened when i got back from your place. Can i buy a new card anywhere, or doesit have to be a special LG thing? <untechnical face>
re phone card, where's Flame, she's good with these sorts of things....oh hang on a mo, Meridians dh has a card reader thing, which involves you getting the card out of the back of your phone (my old phone had the sim card and then the photo card, does yours?) if that is the case, then you could send it to me and I can get him to retrieve the photos that way?
for losing photos, esp as there were nice ones from yest.
Still look mrm, cause you can tell me what it's called so that I can look it up online!
Happy New Year!
Flame has no ideas either. Tell me what phone it is though and I will have a look
Happy New Year
Its an LG renoir. The card reader cant see anything onthere
Happy New Year
it seems to be a common fault
no way to get them back. format the memory card, then when it is done reinsert it and change the storage options so it saves to phone memory instead of card (and just download the pics as often as possible - I can nudge you once a week if you want).
Happy New Year!
Sorry to hear about the common fault MRM, that's rubbish.....
for lost photos.
SNOW here
we've made a snowman this avo and had hot chocolate afterwards
Could have killed dh this am, but he saw sense, came home and apologised to me (he'd gone to work, which wasn't the issue, but he'd not done stuff and was being a bad parent re his ds, my ss) and then did what I wanted him to do
Sometimes he needs reminding to parent the eldest one
Am now being evil and making dd1 do her homework (spelling revision) in prep for Tuesday....
Man in carphone warehouse says h's never evr heard of this happening
phone now goe to hospital for 2 weeks to ssee if I can at least get the card recognised by the phone again (not got much memory on the phonr itself, I need he card). Have got a bloodyu brick as a courtesy phone. Canr text cant do smiley faces cant take photos cant do anything onit!
for brick.
at him never having heard of the fault! I googled the make of phone and something like "memory card fault" and it brought up loads of pages with people having the same thing!
Lol at you being bothered enough to google my phone problems
<touched>
for phone probs MRM and
at brick replacement, you don't expect a brick these days
Did you lot know there is a Flaime on here?!?!?!
<glares>
We told you months/years ago that there was flame!
Did you?
Nothing counts if it was said during pregnancy...
Oooh Dude is "a talented gymnast" <proud> He had his first gym class today.
He is also a little shit. Legged it from a cafe when I was sorting Carys
, I turned round and spotted him as he ran past the window
a lovely man caught him a few shops down and picked him up to stop him running further. Was impressed to find a member of the public not too terrified to touch a child
OMG Flame! what is he like
did you ask him where he was going? well done to bloke who caught him. Well only 9mths till school eh! (see if he tries to escape from there too!)
Loads o snow here, dd1's school shut after an hour yesterday, but is the only one open today??? wtf?
So I'm sat at home with dd2, as no point in digging the car out, to try to get her to nursery for a few hours and as it keeps showering with snow, I'm not expecting dd1 to last a whole day at school? guess only time will tell. So its ironing and housework avoidance for me 'glares at ironing pile'
FLAME>>> I@M SORRY< I HAVENT BEEN IGNORING YOU> I CANT SEND ANY TEXYS>>> GUESSING DUE TO WEATHER> BUT I CAN RECIEVE>
Friz, we were open today, 9-12
They said till 1, once I'sdd alreday set out, then at 11.20, they said pls come at 12!
thanks
Its a PITA eh MRM.
Flame glad you finally got some SNOW
I tried out the new wii game 'your shape' tonight, was quite good, although it doesn't agree that I'm using my arms sometimes when I am, I need to be able to get the sofa out of the way more and the camera could do with being half way up the wall, but for a personal trainer thing it's quite good
and tailored to small ish space excercising, which is great. 5 Mths to bikini girls.....
Sorry - never replied to you Frizbe
. I acquired Tracey Anderson (?) work out dvd thingy to try. Wii fit and me fell out a couple of days ago... ok me eating less would have helped that little argument, but I don't cope well when I am told I am fat. (I went over the bmi line thingy and it made my mii go all round
)
I have to do something about my body though - I am getting more and more miserable, especially because DH is on his health kick and his floozy at work is all sporty.
I most certainly won't be in a bikini in 5 months time Friz, as I'll be into my final month of pregnancy ever!
the ideal time to go for it then
the one time you are able to look huge in a bikini and people can be called bitches if the comment
CSWS you made me giggle, Flame has a point though, that's the exact point you can wear a bikini and not worry a jot!
It made your mii go fat
Can I just say, there is no way you're fat and you've just had a baby as well!!! boobs with milk in them = weight, which you can do nothing about, tis nature. I bet the wii doesn't account for that now does it
I've not heard of that excercise lady??? any good? I did another half hour (starting steady ladies) on the your shape tonight and with a different sofa arrangement it worked a treat, bar getting upset with my arms on the odd occasion still, so might need to jiggle camera just a teeny bit more, cause I swear I was doing it right, it only picked up one in three of the movements (honest!)
Next time you're over this way, you must try it Flame and anyone else who passes by
Had fun in our Beeston Store car park this avo, got in and very nearly couldn't get out again
ice, ice baby....just skimmed an estate agents BMW
but phew at not hitting it.
Had dd2 in the car as well, as pre school only this am, and my mum won't travel in this weather...(don't blame her at all and wouldn't want to put her in danger either) dd2 was upset though, as when I got to pre school, they'd just sat her down for dinner, as they thought it was Wed, when she stays till 1pm, it was a fabby roast dinner they were about to eat as well....but we had to go, so 'treated' her and myself to McD's instead (if you can call that a treat?) I could feel the grease after...
Wow at getting a cooked meal at pre-school!
mrm - was just reading about shingles as MIL has it, and wonder if that could be what your rash is?
Nah, shingles is very painful, and this didnt start/spread in the right areas.
We got school today. Lets see how long till they text asking to pick up!
Waiting for peeps to get home for work here, its pizza and games night! what are you all upto?
CSWS its pre school at nursery, which is why nice cooked lunches
MRM hope your rash isn't too itchy?
not itchy at all. just everywwhere
might be marginally bettr tho.
Dh built an igloo today
explaining absence (MRM you're already there)
Igloo! cripes....
Flame {{Hugs}} from us both.
CSWS your norks made me and dh howl
Hi guys... My computer is dead and I have just scrolled through 700 messages to post on dos iPod so please excuse typos
I've read all this and flames thread. All I can offer is a hug in my totally absent norks. I do hope you and dh can sort things out. Both my close freinds who had similar troubles split with thier ohs buy are now back together. Don't give up.
I can totally understand the ds issues. I had. Total stranger bring ds back to the house a week ago. 6 pm and I hadn't even noticed he had left. He was found two streets Awayand showed the man where to bring him.
Not surprisingly I have been feeling like the crappest mum in the world as a result.
Other than that we had a nice christmas. Dos mum visited fir the first time inalmost a Decade.
I'm very bored of the snow but school hsnt closedyet as teachers all walk in.
We also have no hot water which is pissing ms off slot. For some reason it works at two am but when I need to wash the children it is ice cold.
Jas - is one of those the friend who was having her 4th child and whose dh left when she was pg?
Sorry to hear about your water. Loads of people seem to be struggling with it at the moment.
Eek for losing ds
. I guess you can't put a bolt on the door because the girls need to be able to get in and out? What you really need a fingerprint lock that would let the girls out but not him!
Went to ikea today mrm. Decided to go for huge expedit shelving thing with lots of boxes, but they were out of stock of the unit, so we just have lots of loose boxes at the moment!
Eek Jas! DS has started wandering down the path, but thankfully it is so f*ckin cold we're noticing that the door is open.
Things are still urgh. I don't know what I should be saying or doing. I want to be normal, but normal involves saying I Love You, which I think will make things more awkward so I have to keep stopping myself which brings it all back to me. Plus we have drifted for ages now with just general physical contact, I feel we should be doing more hugs etc, just basic touching iyswim to get closeness back again as that is one of the problems, but at the same time I am wary of being crowding. But then I think that we are both wanting to work on this so surely it is normal and not crowding. Sorry. It just keeps coming out. poor frizbe ended up with essay length text earlier.
I'm so tired
3 nights of no sleep plus a feeding child is not good.
Only csws would think of such an expensive solution to Jas' ds escaping

Flame, its a shame neirher of us lke phone calls and you live so far away

I know MRM
Cried on Psycho which helped a bit
Yesterday evening was good. We felt like "us" again (in a good phase). Plus a good, erm, night's sleep? <snurk> has made me in a v good mood all morning. I don't think I need ADs, I just need lots of sex all the time!
(I will be getting the pills still...)
Nothing like a stuffed beaver to make life better
Hang in there.
x
<back to the step>
At least I did come up with a solution mrm
.
<snurk> at a good night had by all flame.
Nice to see you soupy
. How's baby dragon and the small dragons these days?
I nose in on the thread(s) occasionally to see what's going on.
BabyDragon is currently sporting a very grown up and trendy bob - following her self inflicted mullet just before Christmas it was the only haircut that worked. Team this with a party dress and high heeled clippy-cloppy shoes and the effect was fairly scarey. She remains, as ever, a contrary nightmare.
SmallDragons are well - DS1 (my dear baby PFB) has just sat entrance exams for poncey private secondary schools [eek] [sob] He has in interview for one on Thursday.
<snurk> at self inflicted mullet.
Good luck to ds1.
Can't remember if you saw already that I'm expecting no 3 too?
I did notice you'd lost -- your-- mind gone for no. 3, yes. On another thread as it happens, not this one. Congratulations
Well, saying we'd 'gone for no 3' might be overstating it a bit. More a case of we had sex once in 12 months and struck gold!
Lol csws. I know a couple who had sex once in 10 years and ended up pg!
[snort]
Flame you know I don't mind an essay on the text! Glad you had a good night
Waves at soupey, who made me giggle
Bloomin Ice day here (school down a hill) and now its snowing loads....so much for work eh!
So, in the space of my baby's short life she has had citalopram (through placenta), anti-emetics (placenta), antibiotics at 6 days old, and now sertraline through my milk. Oh and to top it off she's gained less than 1lb in 5 weeks.
I feel like I'm poisoning her and starving her, and yet I refused to stop breastfeeding.
I'm sure that you're neither poisoning nor starving her. You know as well as we do that weight gain isn't the only way to judge whether a baby is getting enough milk and thriving.
I hope that the sertraline helps
.
i hope they make my brain start saying things like that, rather than the stuff it is atm

Stupid thing is, before the appointment I was talking to Psycho about people overly worrying about weight
, now I'm all flustered about it. She is dinky (compared to the way you'd expect from her at birth), but alert, doing the right things etc. Dude stopped growing at 6 months, and he's fine.
and don't forget that they grow in spurts too, so hardly anything one week isn't a problem.
Boo! so how's it going ladies? where's Phoenix these days?
I'm here, ish! Going to get my phone back today... hurray! I can text and take photos again! WEnt in yest on hre off chance and it was ready, but obv I didnt have the box and charger for the courtesy one with me. Argh. Apparently its fixed. But they didnt seem to know much, so we'll see
STP PRESS... ds2 can write his name, finally
And write 125 cos its our bus number
. Its sad tho, cos when I was in nursery yest, I saw some old work of ds1's, and he was writing full words etc at this age
Btw Falme, I'm not ignoring you but I think I maty have omitted to reply to one of your txts
Sorry. Blame this shitty phone.
Phoenix is in London atm!
Yay for writing name!
Oh crap, its now isnt it? She never goot in touch re the staff card. Has anyone got her mobile number? If they have they can get in otuch and I can give her dh's number, and she can call if shewants him to meet her at the entrance and get her in!
i think emrys can write "m"

I remember when DS1 could recognise the letter M and his father was over the moon thinking he was oh-so-bright. Until I looked at him witheringly and pointed to the McDonald's logo. That deflated his fatherly ego rather.
Dd has just written a note which says THANK YOU FOR OUR CHRISTMAS PRESENTS LOVE FROM PIPPA AND DUNCAN
I did spell the words for her though.
bet mine climbs better than yours <sulk>
(DD1 was the same with learning M too
)
DD has just carved "wanker" into the coffee table with a spoon she sharpened on the bricks of the fireplace.
(not really. She can only be arsed to learn the letter S)
give her and ds an hour together and i suspect they would have created the spoon pen
PMSL soupy!
I reckon my ds might give your ds a run for his money you know!
I think all kids learn the mACDONALDS 'M' firsrt...
we had music on at nursery yest. 100 top kids theme tunes. ds2 asked if we had a cd with Little Jesus Sweetly Sleep on it

Today he walked straight past the bathroom to go up to his room to wee on the carpet

<floats onto thread on the weirdy pills>
<forgets everything and floats away again>
ds can draw a face, and recognises numbers.....
I dont think he even knows macdonalds M as he's only beena couple of times.
Our nursery school is next door to the big M, so no avoiding it here! dd2 is slowly getting into writing things, not a studios as her elder sister though
Thanks for the update CSWS
About to endure a bowling party with dd1, wish me luck in entertaining dd2....
Urgh, bowling party. Noisy and manic and dirty food room ime! Left ds2 at home, but if I'd had to take him he would have een poking eound looking for coins in all thetrays in the games machines <proud of my pikey kids>
Mrm - I felt a bit cheeky asking for it so i didn't. Then we found out that the Eye wasn't running while we were there anyway. We did go to madam tussauds but got cheaper off peak tickets. But thank you very much for the offer
London is very busy. 2 days was enough, i could never live there
We got back today and our stupid boiler is broke so its bloody freezing here. My dad's coming to have a look tomorrow but i think we'll end up ringing British Gas.
Lewis can write his name (sort of) and he knows how to spell it.
Oh no, no boiler
that's not good in this weather Phoenix, glad you had a good time in LDN though
Bowling disaster, dd1 got a ball dropped on her toe by meri's ds
total accident, but lots of wailing....meri's poor boy was mortified...she's all ok now though, so phew, but it put paid to the day bowling for her....she managed the food though, so couldn't have been all bad! MRM dd2 played happily on the not working car video game! before imposing herself on dd1's mates
I know Friz, it's fecking freezing. Our house is quite cold anyway normally but not this cold. We've got the fire on in the living room so that's ok. Lewis has got a new duvet (13.5tog) so while he's wrapped up he'll be warm and Noah ends up in bed with me anyway so he'll be warm enough too. Hopefully we can get it fixed soon.
Phoenix, dont ever do that again.. just ASK!
Friz, sounds like when ds1 dropped the heaviest weight of bodybar on his toe. Ouch. It was black for weeks
Dh bday today. Cinema. Then tried pizzahut but they'd behaved too long, so meltdown during lunch
dh got a promotion (not the job he applied for). not much in the way of money, but more interesting work etc
yay for Dh Flame, so nice to hear some good news
take it his boss is still the same person though?......
Phoenix, have you got the boiler sorted yet?
MRM its not that bruised on the surface? odd eh!
My turn not to work tonight
(we're doing a weekly swap on mondays) so I shall be mainly reading a book later (she says hopefully!) which one I have no idea, I have so many on my stack!
No Friz not yet. We signed up to that British Gas cover thing where we pay so much a month and get unlimited call outs blah blah blah...so we're covered if it goes wrong again. Cos the boiler is already broke though we have to pay the first £99 now. It could cost a hell of a lot more though so in that case its not too bad. They're coming tomorrow so fingers crossed.
for dh Flame.
Oh yay for dh's job flame - hurrah!
How are things between you two now - any change?
Can't believe how many people have had broken boilers during the cold snap!
meh. good n bad days. some days are great and it is as if nothing has happened, then he drops into a low mood again (which were normal before) and I get all worked up again
We have heat and water. The fan was broken.
Friz - thought you might like/be sad to hear that Cadmum has lost another baby.
Good news re boiler Phoenix.
I am officially computerless. Mine can not be brought back from the dead and is now in the bin
I will try and check in when I can, but with no online time in the evenings, and absconding boy around in the afternoons I have very little time I can get on here any more.
for Cadmum, I wondered where she'd been this week, thanks for letting me know CSWS.
for no computer Jas, I hope you can get another one asap, we'll miss you in the meantime!
for boiler fix Phoenix, its not fun with no heating or hotwater eh! Talking of boiler probs, I saw a horrible scare story on the news the other night (luckily no one hurt as they had an alarm, but there was a family the week before who weren't so lucky), and I dragged my bottom to Wilkos yesterday and got a carbon monoxide alarm, which is now situated in our living room, but I think I'm going to get another for dd2's bedroom, as she's above the garage which contains the boiler....sadly they're a lot more expensive than a smoke alarm, but worth it if it saves your life.
Waves at everyone else, hope you're all having lovely weekends? we have dh's larp friends staying this weekend, they're all running around the local woods today and tomorrow! I get the kids
Hi all,
mrm, I got your text last week, but am useless at texts....if I don't reply immediaTELY (I WAS ON SCHOOL RUN AND LATE) THEN I FORGET (sorryabout caps) i will reply now I have remembered though.
We still have no hot water, but dp has got a big tea urn type thing (been in the loft for years) which heats it up quickly for washing up and washing hair. we just have to use a bucket in the bath for a diy shower for now, and go swimming alot.
Computer for me is fairly low on the list of things we need as you can see, but I am hoping to get one again eventually, and am on during the day occasionally up here.
Anyone want ffp reusables? I have a nice red fleece wrap and a few assorted bamboo nappies lying around waiting for a home.......
Let me know if anyone wants them (or knows anyone who might), as I'm only looking here and book circle at the moment so have lost touch with everything else.
Fingers very x'd that you get boiler up and running soon again Jas, you're not having much luck at the moment
Did bath and nit check this morning here (as lots of people for dinner tonight, started as just Meri and her family, but has grown, as these things do....) and found 2 friggin nits on dd2 again
she had none when I did my last check on them on Wed, so its someone at nursery again
dd1 is clear, and from what I can tell I am, gah! will we ever be rid of the bloody things?
Blimey - you're a very nitty family Friz!! I'm touching wood, but we never had them as children, and none for my dc yet. Just lucky I guess!
for all your probs at the mo Jas. Have you managed to find a solution for escaping boy? Theoretically I could use the nappies, but I'm not very diligent at actually bothering, so do give them to someone more deserving if you can find someone! What size is the red fleece wrap? Is it the tots bots one, and if yes then do you know what size? We did use ours on ds over his night nappy when he was little, as he used to wet through otherwise. Have no idea whether no 3 will be as soggy!
I am still engrossed in primary school apps. Need to ring some contenders tomorrow and try to squeeze in a last minute visit, as we can't make our minds up what to do. Are the rest of you all done now?
for dead computer and no heating/water Jas.
for nits Friz. We never had them at our house when i was a kid either csws. I remember my cousins getting them but we never did. Neices and nephews used to get them all the time but i haven't heard of them getting them for a while. I'm hoping my 2 never get them, i'd die
Apps for primary school here closed in November. We find out where he goes in April but he won't start until Jan 2011.
won't start til jan?
when's the cut off? Here the sept-feb babies start in sept and the march - aug start in jan.
School app done, noe panicking till we find out in April. Cut off was early Jan I think ,but obv i was done way befoer that! Everyone keeps tellin me not to worry, tyhat he'll get in on sibling. But ds1 was the only nureset kid not to fget a school place on the firsrt round, plus we had twins at nursery who now go to 2 diff reception schools
Jas, I know you're rubbish at contaqct
btw I've alwys got tons of free mins so I dont mind calling you back if youre stoil on pay as you go. I do that with most pepole!
We got had nits for a year, touchwood. Kis had worms not long ag othough, so tat was 6.89 for the familt pack of tablets. I used to get them contantly as a kid, hope the boys havent ingerited my susceptabillty.
I assumed school apps had closed here. I did ours ages ago, at the same time as dd1s secondary one.
All ours start in Sep here....some schools have them all full time. Ours has the post April births part time til Jan.
DD1 has had nits once in 10 years. The rest of them never
I used to get them all the time though.
The red wrap is tots bots. large I think. I don't know any real nappy users any more. My friend who did is fairly slack with this one, but as he is her 5th, I am letting her off
So far a chain on the door is working to keep ds inside......of course it only works if we all use it though.

They're the dates for Barnsley admission dates.
how mad to split 4 months and 8 months rather than 6 and 6 Phoenix!
Its bonkers the school admins, they should all be the same, dd2 is still adament (SP? no time to spell check!)that she's not going in Sept! so that will be amusing....
Friggin nits are a hangover from Xmas, when nursery mixed the pre school class with the holiday club, as not enough members in either to justify staff on the day after the bank holiday.....everyone got nits from one of the holiday club girls........
and pre school have not gotten rid of them since.....despite notes on the door, letters to parents etc. I'm not sending dd1 to holiday club there again, as I cannot afford the hedrin on top of the club fee, I'm better off just being off work unpaid that week/2 weeks/6 weeks. There is obviously one parent who is too busy working to de nit their child
Am down in London tomorrow, but sadly no time to meet up with anyone, as its a quick whisk into Olympia for Toy Fair, then out again!
Ours are all the same start date regardless of birth. We find out 19th march.
Nit house from hell here. as fast as I get rid of the things DD1 brings them home again. We're always clear for holidays and reinfested within a week of school going back. Half the parents don't de-nit as far as I can tell, so it just never ends.
Toy fair
Please someone tell me how to stop ds2 howing stuff constantly?
got a 1hr job £50 on thurs, all confirmed
market research.
adamant
howing = throwing? dunno.
sent DH an essay length email dumping the contents of my brain, and told him he must reply. He will be home soon, so will point him at his email and then go and panic clean. Had a shot of whiskey to settle me. Could do with a hell of a lot more, but not got any. I can't live in limbo any more, I need more specific answers than "I don't know" and "I'm confused" even if I suspect they may hurt like hell.
straitjacket?
More whiskey prob not a good idea anyway. Good luck. But he may not have specific answers to everything, so be prepared for that.
He can at least narrow down whether he is confused about me, us, her, losing kids, a mixture of any or all of that lot. At the moment it is just so bloody vague its untrue. Plus I had the chance to get down everything I have done (if that makes sense) - this last fortnight has given me a hell of a lot of thinking time. I openly admit to being a bitch
You're prob right about the whiskey. Remembered I've not eaten today (bad night last night - not been able to stomach food today)... I'm v lightheaded
all v good. will update later.
Ok. He's on xbox.
Am finally 100% convinced that his friend is just a friend. Still not a great deal further on "us" but it seems to have broken some ice and we feel more normal than we have since this whole thing started. We can fix us, I am sure of it.
Good news Flame
Also no idea about throwing.....let me know when you get an answer though!
Bravo flame - small steps and all that
.
Primary school appn done, after visiting my now number 1 choice this morning. It was wonderful, and it looks like we might get in (last year wouldn't have stood a chance as oversubscribed) as only 25 places 'taken' (I didn't realise that they can see how many people have them as first choice whilst appns are still open) and they have 30 available
.
Flame good news re you guys talking
Nits pita...
Think we're clear again for now, not holding my breath though....
CSWS
for school news, fingers x'd you're in.
MRM what do you mean?
Toyfair was good, this year you will be mainly playing with yoyo's, collectable aliens, robots, world cup stuff, and there's an update on the barcode scanner thing that was about a few years back (into new machine and quest form) if you're female a gallon of sylvanian, hello kitty or strawberry shortcake stuff. Big xmas toys in Gormiti and Iron man ranges for boys, fab supermario chess set too
Great Alice in Wonderland stuff also (more for grownups!)
Lots of Toy Story (3) Oh and watch out for the mighty beanz this year, coming soon to a floor near you (at least there's no sharp edges for you to tread on)
Meanwhile dd1 got sent home from school sick yesterday, kept her off this am, as not so well but fingers x'd she's fixed for tomorrow as sleepover to be had and party to go to!
what do i mean about what?
MRM the Howing thing? translation required!
'lost north midlands person'
Soooo what you all upto this week then? darned freezing outside innit?
Me, off to combat in a mo, followed by treating myself to either lunch or a coffee funds dependent, then work this evening, as done dh a swap (he's doing next mon) as I'm at Spring Fair all day, with one of our managers (as we fig'd we can't get back in time to get dd1 from school n get store open for evening session, if we both go next week, and he'd rather not go if he can help it!)
throwing

What collectable aliens?
I've got an hour to kill afer school with ds2 cos its ds1's circus skills day... too wet for park, cant even make it to coffee shop and back and actually have time to drink, def cant get home and back, too rainy for park. Argh. An hour in b&q
I'll look up the aliens for you, can't quite remember what they were called, in 99p pack type things (which might be a £2.49 pack, soz can't remember, will get back to you tho!)
for an hour in B&Q with ds2, how many kitchens can you look at? and possibly destroy!
Slept odd here last night, seem to have a crick in my left shoulder blade, tis odd, keeps coming and going?
CSWS am
of your new cleaner! (facebook folkes)
cool, ta friz.
Btw gave the brown cardy to my friend, asgfer all that, as it was too tight in the arrms
what cleaner?
We didnt go to B&Q. WE spent 25 mins leaving school by chatting to mums and a policeman, then stood in a wet park for 15 mins, then he needed a poo so we went back to school
Have a cleaner at last. Same woman who comes to do my massages and reflexology.
This thread actually dropped off my threads I'm on. Don't think that's ever happened before
.
Ds will need glasses in 6-12 months time.
CSWS
for ds, how come? was it something you noticed? fingers x'd he won't need them for long.
MRM, oh well who needs a brown cardi anyway! don't sweat the small stuff eh?
Sorry my memory has forgotten the name again, will try to post whilst at work tomorrow with catalogue in front of me, doh!
Have total lack of brain today, its taken a holiday, body is running, rest of me is away with the faries.....
Shoulder is a bit better though, hoping to get a full nights sleep tonight
not good enough to excercise tomorrow though....
He's been having same routine screening that dd had due to dh's crap eyesight since childhood, and they found that he has a severe astigmatism. Glasses will be for life I think.
Oh CSWS
At least having them so young, he will see them as normal. If it's any consolation, my sister had a strong astigmatism, and it was ameliorated a great deal by starting with spectacles early on... she doesn't need to wear them all the time now, so maybe there is some hope. Having said that... both his parents wear them, so he was unlikely to escape them entirely.
I take it DD doesn't need them at all?
Hope you are keeping well with the pg though.
Hello to everyone- hope all are well.
I now have a 1yo and a 4yo... pretty fraeky really
DS has started moving all over the place now, which is fun but a little scary too, and much earlier than dd. He is also talking a lot sooner- doesn't seem like a baby at all really!
Glasses are cool, dont owrry

Er, your reflexology bird does cleaning? What a bizzare life you lead
ds1 going to be in the School Food TRust promom vid thing that was on a thread on here a while back. They coming to film next wekk, hopefully with a couple of schoolfriends. Fame
Means cleaning up tho
Hello everyone
Can't believe we've all got/nearly got 4yr olds
EPPM - Long time no post, nice to 'see' you again
.
at ds been 1 already.
for ds csws. My dh has wore glasses since he was a baby
I'm having a nightmare at home these last few days, we seem to have some furry rodent visitors, aaaaargh. We've heard noises at night in our ceiling and suspected mice (we had them up there once before years ago) but kind of put it to the back of our mind then on Sunday night i was sat watching tv (dh at work) and out of the corner of my eye i saw something run from under the sofa to under the chair. I was frozen to the spot with fear for ages and just ran upstairs and went to bed. The council came out on Tuesday and put some poison down so hopefully that will sort them. I hate the thought of seeing one again and can't relax once the kids are in bed and the house is quieter so i've been going to bed really early and watching tv.
Oddly enough, we got mice back last night
They get in under the stairs and run into front room.
Four!
[wail]
Poor old dd has come down with conjunctivitis we think, so has been sent straight home from school on her birthday. She is most upset and declared it to no longer be the 'best day ever'
.
Collective happy birthdays to everyone else!
poor dd. Happy birthday to her
Happy Birthday to all the others too
Happy Birthday CSWS's DD! Though boo for the horrible conjunctivitis... urgh how horrid for her, hope it didn't spoil her day too much
Was she very excited to be the birthday girl? DD was much more aware of the significance this year...
ds1 goes one stwep further and refers to such thungs as 'the worst day of my life'
Watch this space. The cameraman came and filmed us last night for the School Food TRust promo vid to be shown on mn
mrm- I keep meaning to ask you (and forgetting)... how good were DS' night vision goggles? Do they work well, and are they robust? Thanks
Oh and Phoenix- hope DS1 had a lovely birthday too!
Soupy you had me ducking and looking for golf balls there
Ooooh there's a new confused face
CSWS Happy Birthday to dd and Phoenix Happy Birthday to ds
CSWS is your dd in the Next catalogue? or is it just someone who looks like her?
I've lost my voice! you'd think dh would be glad of the peace and quiet, but instead he's been moaning that I can't speak/answer the tel etc....men! no pleasing them
They're ok but not great. I wouldnt pay full price for them at all.
Thanks for ds1's birthday wishes. He loved it and was so much more excited than last year. He was asking all day to do his cake. We had a little birthday tea for him and took him bowling after pre school.
Mrm - I got a new tattoo the other day. It's covering up an old dolphin one that i got when i was 17. The pic is on my Facebook.
Friz -
for sore throat. Dh has had a really bad one for a few days. But obviously his is much worse than yours cos he's a man
More Happy Birthday wishes going out
Ooh do link it when it's on mrm!
No, dd hasn't done any moggling Friz, so not her, but do tell what page so that I can have a nose!
I really should sort out some half term plans. We were supposed to be having friends come and stay, but they can't make it now so have a free week looming - eek! Anyone want to come and visit?!
You could come into London and meet me and mrm on Thursday. (assuming she is ok with that!)
<As long as you brought my shoes>
DD2 has been sick for a week, but is moaning that she is bored today, sot hat means she is probably fit for school tomorrow.
Happy birthday Feb-babies
That would be cool! You can all catch my ear infection
Was thinknig Jas, I 'd like to do something free but not a merlin thing, as we do that all the time of course, plus I've realised we need almost half the years tickets for one Chessington extravaganza with friends in the syummer! So lets do something free but less popular than sci/nat hist... i cant face the trauma of those crowds
Any ideas??
Has she really not sent your shoes bak yet? Disgraceful service
I'm bored of this mum thing now. I don't want to be a SAHM, I want to swap with DH
Eek - I'm not sure if I can face London with a buggy again, but let me know once you decide where exactly you're going and I'll see how desperate I am
.
I can take your shoes to Roydon any time you like you know! Seeing in-laws on Sunday so they could be there by Sunday night. Or would you rather I stuck them in the post?
flame. Anything specific, or just usual drudgery?
What is wrong Flame?
Could you work part time somehow.....I stacked shelves when dd2 was tiny in order to retain some level of sanity/ability to speak to adults.
mrm- sounds good, as the dds can't agree on anythingI could suggest. I'll try and think of something we can do. I'd still like to be mostly inside.
We could do Willows next Thurs?
I still have no car, and three children/two seat van is seriously limiting, so can't do Willows or pick up shoes from roydon
I think it is just usual drudgery plus dude being the demon child from hell.
I like the idea of just a basic 9-5, leave boy with the children, come back and do bedtime and weekends kind of thing.
Irony is, as a child, all I wanted to be was "a mum". I never had big career plans. Now I have it, turns out I suck at it tbh
. But as much as Boy hates his job and would happily swap places tomorrow, I don't have enough skills or qualifications in anything to be able to go out and find a job earning what we get now.
{{{Hugs}}} to Flame, do you fancy doing party plan Jamie Oliver in your area, my mate in Blandford has set up doing it and is looking for people to sell for her?
CSWS, the hat page, 695 (prob looks nothing like your dd1, but I was going from memory!
)
Jas
for only two seater van...here's hoping we all have a more prosperous year this time round, about time we all had a good year is it not?
MRM {{{hugs}} for ear infection.
Phoenix, I'm going to have to log onto facebook now!
Sniffle n snuffle here, my throat is no longer as croaky, but I've swapped it for snot, gorgeous
At least I should be well for half term!
Have a larp event this weekend, should be nice and busy.....I think I'm getting a lift there, as gotta get to event to check people in....whilst dh does the mega school run from hell (local then leeds then event! exhausting just thinking about it)
I'm absolutely terrible at sales
This year had better start getting better soon Frizbe as it sucked so far!
I've been snotty, now on just weirdy head and dry cough stage, but short one is streaming snot
she's only been clear for a little while!
Your weekend sounds v hectic.
Oh Flame
What can I say?
Been docs, after a igght of thinknig my head would explode literally. I have a streptococyl (sp?) infection, so got 80 penicillin tablets to take
, and he said just wait for them to kick in so that then the paracetemol will work on the pain
Still not thought of any ideas Jas!
ooh that don't sound fun!
I'm ok. Just arsey
Strawberry is snotty again. Poor kid has spent more time with snot than without!
MRM that sounds horrible, {{Big Hugs}}
Flame, we'll we still have snot here too
I guess your dd2 will have a mega good immune system by the time she's 3 eh
Dh and I about to have our weekend here! one quick evening, still its better than nothing and I refuse to exercise tomorrow, as am having a lie in as I'm working tomorrow night.
Gah.
So, "I'll pack when the kids are in bed".
Carys sleeps in the room I need to pack in/find clothes in doesn't she....

So, I'll make lists instead
Nice name.
I always think i'll put clothes away/tidy my room later then remember about Noah still sleeping in our room, or should i say in our bed <<sigh>>.
How is everyone?
Oh and
for snot. Lots here too
Ds has spent more time snotty than not and he's loads older than Carys!
What you packin for?
(Haven't checked out next yet Friz)
Dd's party was good on Sunday, and she was well enough for it - hurrah.
Going to stay with Friz tomorrow
for good party CSWS, was it at home? are there any photos about?
for Flame coming to stay too, Meri has informed me her ds will want to stay one night too! SS has decided to stay till sunday, so he's been informed we're kicking him out of his room and he's bunking in with dd2
, your dd1 is with my dd1, you get your ds and dd2 in with you, that's plan a, plan b is all boys in dd2's room and all girls in dd1's room, will see which works out! Meri is sorting out cheesecake for Thur and would like to know what you want to do on Friday, she's not keen on Swim on Thur, but I've told her all the girls want to go! will see what happens.
Cheesecake on Thurs you say <checks how long it would take to get to Friz>?
CSWS, its not any cheesecake either, its Meri's cheesecake!
Hmm cheesecake
So, pissing down, and supposed to be doing open topped bus tour thing today
I am not the slightest bit organised.
DS will be delighted at SS being there - his little face fell when I said he wouldn't be!
Flame is here! and her ds was the 1st one to go to sleep
How was the tour bus MRM?
demon child
Bus was great. ds1 loved the commentary, ds2 just bus spotted all day
. Ended up leggin it into wetherspoons for lunch though as ds2 needed a wee so badly we had no time to make a considered decision! Went on eye...again..... cos ds1 loves it, but they didnt have the clipper, so pass didnt get deducted, hurray!
for lovely day, can't beat an impromptu pub lunch eh?!
So we're sat here waiting for the cheesecake to arrive
pudding!
cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesecake
I got to lick the spoon
I want some
Twas goooooooooooooooood
<fights off mr firzbe for the rest in the fridge>
<realises I am too drunk to spell frizbe right first time>
Flame, text me and tell me if MrFrizbe really is good looking , or if those photos I nosed at ages ago were just giving the impression!
ds2 bday cake delivery due todasy.... the other half of my winnigs from the mn comp mnoths ago
Scooby Doo one. And they let me have large for price of small, cos the balance I had laeft was £6 short of getting a big onE!
Ooh cool cake! Am slightly
at the smaller one being to serve 1-25. That would be 1 with a very big appetite!
ds1 would give it a good go! We got the smaller one for his birthday, and they were quite accurate, as he had 16kids plus a few adults, and we brought a little bit home too. I did cut it small tho! He had the racing car one.
They are lovely cakes, but I would nevr have paid that amount for them, its insane. Look at the part for cakestore on the website, they do extra special ones for London area; hey're £300/£300
http://www.thecakestore.co.uk/acatalog/copyof_KFCCake.html why would you??]]
Lovley cakes though MRM, you're very lucky to have won one
Did ds2 have a lovely day?
Well Flames is on her way home now, I hope she's had fun! CSWS we were just saying, isn't it about time for our yearly meet up at yours?
Off to watch a movie with dh now
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.
lol the meetup is usually Aug at csws isnt it?!
Party is today Friz. Soooo glad friend with car has foffered us a lift; its pissing down. Imagine the bus with the cake, 23 posters/masks as take home presents, and us in full Scooby Gang gear
I think the first one was summertime mrm, but the last one was feb/march wasn't it, as EPPM's ds was only a few weeks old.
If we're having one this year then before my new arrival might be the best plan. How are people fixed for just before Easter?
Last years was April i think. I go back to work on 22nd March

so i'd have to come after work if i come but i've done that before so not really a problem. I'd have to work round dh's shifts or see if my parents can have the boys if he's working.
Lots of snow here this morning. Agood few hours of non stop snowing.
Hope ds2's party goes well. Great cake
Lots of snow here too Phoenix, photos on facebook! Think it was March last year at CSWS's?
April is looking better than March for me
as March seems to consist of dd2's birthday, mothersday then our wedding anniversary! plus a whole host of our staff are off work themselves and then having babies to (and that's if the babies bit goes to plan!) so we're cover central.....
was march last time as it was around my birthday.
no idea when easter is. I have a wedding on 17th (or 19th?) March, but other than that, no plans.
Easter is 4th April
Checked calendar - it was 14th March last year
.
At the moment, assuming that people prefer a weekend, I could potentially do 27th March, 3rd April (though am guessing that as that's Easter Sat some of you will have other plans), or 24th April, or pretty much any Sat after that.
Lost you all off my list again
I have nothing planned at all for Easter so in theory could do anytime to suit everyone else. I could just pick up the shoes then, too csws!
DP is currently car hunting, but not as enthusiastically as I'd like. I will need to be away weekends but not sure when yet - my mum is not well and won't be fit to travel here for a while.
Scooby cake is great, but not at that price! DS is getting spiderman - I showed him three options and he chose the one which is easiest to make so I'm happy.
Party on Friday assuming he doesn't get chicken pox before then.
Sorry I didn't make it in the hols mrm - Almost all my plans ended up scrapped due to illness and rubbish weather.
Cake took 1.5days to arrive
...waited it all Fri. Found an email that morning with tracking number etc, saying address next door. Called cake people; he said he's noticed and had changed it on the box. I lolked out window as much as poss, but didnt see van. Courier hadnt changed it on his schedule sheet thing, sio it stil lwrent next door, exccept no one in , so they put a card thorugh. Which I couldnt get cos no one in! So cake people promised it would arrive before 12 on SAt; it came at 1.55pm. Glad it cam, but argh two days waiting in. totally cake peoples fault cos they changed it on one addrwss on the box, but not the second label, and didnt tell the couriers so they could change their drivers instructions
. Lovely cakr though! Party was manic , and ds2 so overwhelmed with the ecitement that he bursrt into tears! Took 2 hours to open the presents from his friends, omg. He now has more buses for his collection; so happy! He got a park&ride, a number 98, and a yellow bendy bus, oh and a 50s style bus. I think he's got about 12 in his 'collection' now
And he;s learnt so many london numbers and destinations; he writes them all in a notebook
Dont worry Jas, it was a shame not to see you, but we were feeling very lehargic that day anyway! Next time! Maybe we can get in free to gunpowder mills in summer, if you can still do that?! The boys loved that.
Dates, I can do March 6/7, March 13/14, April 3/4, April 17/18, May 1/2, May 8/9.
Are you expecting him to get CP Jas?
That's pretty rubbish re cake delivery. You should make 'em do you another free one as compensation, espec as they know that you frequent MN so can rubbish them online!
I assume that you're happy to host on the 3 weekends you've mentioned that I've said I can't do then mrm?
I'm no good for most of April it turns out
dh appears to have booked extra work in....I currently appear to have free 8/9 May and the weeekend after (15/16 I think) is that any good to anyone? I could possibly do one of the weekends in April if I bring the girls 10/11th (though think that's on CSWS's no list!)
MRM WOW that sounds like a heck of a lot of presents! hope ds is having lots of fun with them
Jas
to hear your mums not so well, hope its nothing serious {{{Hugs}}}
Hectic day here, returned some shoes that didn't fit dh (I brought them a few weeks ago, but funny on one foot...) and got him some new ones and a refund as they didn't cost so much
Have run around to a friends tonight to drop her 40th prezzie off and say Hi, as haven't had chance to see her in ages (I'm always working or with a pile of kids in tow, as is she!) so managed a whole hour of nattering with just dd2 in tow
I can do either of those May weekends Friz. mrm has already said that she can do the first, and I'm guessing that she prob just didn't look any futher ahead than that. Do you know yet what shifts you will have Phoenix, as to when would be better for you?
Where's EPPM gone again? Are you free young lady?!
In May I can potentially do any except 22/23!
Lol csws, would be happy to host if you can suggeest where we put everyone
Dh would have to sleep wih kids, so someone could share with me, then someoner elsr would have to sleep on floor on an iarbed in our room, and eerynoe else on the sofabed! So its possible, but defteats th point if u cant come!!
15/16 would be best for me - tis our anniversary on 8th (the one we celebrate, not our wedding....), and I am hoping to scrape together some money for a surprise trip away. I think we need it tbh. Oh and 23rd is B's birthday - she may be miffed if mummy ain't there
Oh do we want Strawberry with us or not? I have plenty of time to express oodles to leave her at home, but don't know if people want a baby to cuddle or not (which would mean I can express for the weekend away instead).
I don't know what my day's off are yet but if i am working i will finish around 1pm so can come down after work. I've got no other plans that i know of so i should be ok for any. At this moment in time Noah sleeps with me but i'm trying to get him to like his cot
so hopefully i'll be able to leave him at home.
I dont mind having a go with the baby!
lol you'd end up sleeping with her as well remember
Dont mind

Is it 15/16 May then?
can anyone get in touch with Jas and let her know/see if she's free?
I'm here Frizbe.
And I'm free as far as I can tell. (DPs work is very unpredictable and he is occasionally working weekends/nights, but doesn't usually know until a day or so before hand)
15/16 cool with me, also subject o to dh getting o/t or me getting another market research job!
yup tis good for me
mmmmmm Johnny Depp
Er???
I often think that.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm johnny depp
Am here (just about)... especially for people who call me "young lady"
am feeling particularly decrepit today... was dd's party. am zonked.
Can it really be a year since we all met-up?
DS was so very small wasn't he? <sob>
15/16 is fine for me (if you'll still have me.. I've been a bit part-time recently
)
Am I allowed to just say 'Mmmmmmmmmm' without the JD bit?
well you can EPPM but really you should qualify it with a person on the end
Have popped that date into my diary
which means its hopefully all real and proper n all that jazz )scuze me been on the pop
)
Hello Jas, sorry wasn't being ignorant much...was just having a JD on the TV moment
You?!?!?! Been on the pop?!!?
(love that phrase btw
)
Oh, Strawberry decided that nearly 19 weeks is long enough on just milk. Launched herself onto my pizza and sucked for all she was worth
I think that means she is about ready to start wanting food....
You should have seen the fight when I tried to take it back!!! She ended up sitting sucking it for ages, then finally released it and grinned. As first foods go, I think asda pizza at 18 weeks may be an MN hanging offence.
There must be something about Asda pizzas. Noah did that before he was on solids too, just launched and sucked
Asda pizza is an offence in its own right
Love ASda for clothes and toys and stuff, and cheaper price branded cereal, but hate Asda own stuff. Maybe its just our branch, but the food is rank. Fruit and veg often mouldy, cream cakes taste shit. Ooo, but I do love a look round the 'stuff'
Must write 15/16 on calaendar.
Ok, quick vote pls. Funreal of close friend on Tuesday. ds1 wants to go. Teacher says ok to miss afternoon school. Shall we take him? flame says yes, for the reasons I thought... might help understand, he's a very old 6, and itspractice/intro for when his grandparents die, which they of course will one day. Hwe will behave, he knows roughly what will happen. But do you think there'll be anything that would really freak him out? Other than it being v sdad. He's knows its a cremation. He knows there will be sad pepole there.
Flame, you do realise you're like a half Welsh version of the Simpsons don't you? weening little Maggie on Pizza
(are the older two in the wrong order mind? can't remember)
Good question there MRM, my parents didn't take me when my Grandad died and I was narked at them for not taking me (age 8), 1st funeral I went to was at 13, when a very good friend got killed outside of school
but then the whole school year went, so was kind of a different experience to your average funeral. Him being there might well cheer the proceedings up a bit (I have memories of my Grans funeral with my cousins boy running around hugging everyone with a huge grin on his face, he has downs, so fairly ignorant of the days proceedings) but he did make everyone a lot happier! on the other hand it may give him a morbid fascination with life/death, you know him and how he'll react best, so I'd make a decision based on that.
Is a 2nd cup of tea before Combat a bad idea? (runs for the loo)
MRM - As long as you aren't going to fall apart at the funeral yourself, then I would take ds if he wants to go.
Nice to see you EPPM!
I have no idea re funeral. Can prob count on one hand the number of them that I've been to myself!
In living hell here as converted ds cot to bed yesterday, and it is Not Going Well.
mrm - please tell me what you liked about the Phil & Teds (+ which model you had). I don't like it, but I want to like it, as I think that it and the i-candy peach blossom (which I love but which is v expensive and ds already looks v big in) seem to be the only tandems that can hold a child heavier than 15kg.
I think all babies love pizza don't they?
Maybe because it's so salty... <slurp>
Wow- CSWS- cannot believe DS is in a bed already! Was he climbing out of the cot? Well- at least you won't have to get a new one for DC3. Did you keep your amby? (not sure how successful that was for you)
You presumably didn't need a double buggy last time? DD was walking everywhere reasonably early wasn't she?
mrm- I went to my first funeral (out of 3!) aged 7, and still remember it. I am glad I went (was my grandad) and I think it is important for children to see that grief is something that affects everyone, their parents included. Providing there won't be people in utter hysterics, then I'd say take him, yes. Good practice as you say... I was thinking the other day that I've not actually had enough practice at that- the only people I know who have died are DGD and 2 colleagues (yeah- we actually get rid of quite a lot that way
).
Phoenix- how is DS2? he must be 8mo now? Is he crawling?
<waves> to Frizbe and Flame...
Not climbing out no, but struggling to lower him with expanding bump and him being so heavy. It's a cot bed, so we ideally would still want it for dc3, but we are going to attempt the Amby this time, so hoping not to need to worry about whether we need a new one for quite a while.
You're right re not needing a double previously EPPM. Dd was walking everywhere from pretty much the day she began walking!
Realised since my previous post that the P&T will only take ds up to 15kg whilst the baby is lying flat, so it might not be a contender at all, which is just aarrrrggghh as it means that the i-candy is the only option unless we go for side by side instead.
Ohh don't envy you with the buggy to find CSWS, I had that cosatto duet light thing, but dd1 in the front was a right pita when she got heavier....(sure she was over the weight limit) Hope the bed thing gets easier....
Waves back at EPPM
Just watched the hidden sugar thing on BBC, eeek, the kids are never having those damn milk straws again!
Thanks all for the opinions, we're taking him. Actalluy friz, I went to my first funeral aged 13, and it my friends brother, eho I wasnt exacyl goin out with, but it was just coming to that point after alot of flirting
Phil n Teds... god, so long ago....
erm, I also had an xts twister and a Marco Sky, and hated both of those re manouverability.
The phil n teds only downside is that it was the first buggy ds21 could undo the clip, so I couldnt trap him in there!! Oh and that folded up doesnt make it much smaller!!!
Loved how easy it was to push and manouvre, very light, very comfy seats, really quite narrow as far as doubles go. Eg no prob with shop doors and buses. A very smooth ride. Good sized basket underneath. Got the cocooon free but sold it as didnt need it and got £30 or something
Back seat sduperb for piling shopping in once older one walks!
well hello everyone is it just mine? ds has got so lippy since he hit 4? <waves to csws, how are your beautiful family? and how are u?>
I borrowed a P&T for a while, and ds managed to tip it over the second time I used it, so wasn't impressed. Also hate 3 wheelers, but I think that is just me.
Kid in the back gets a face full of nothing to look at, as well.
I guess I am the only one to still have a buggy for the 4 yr old
?
Tried to get to school without today, but failed. I just can't get to school and nursery in decent time if he is walking. Plus I need it for shopping
Hope the funeral goes ok,mrm.
Hi mm. We are all good thank you. Busy plotting for the new one's arrival!
I don't think that dd is any lippier now that she's 4, but she could always be lippy if she chose to. We come down quite hard on her if she is though, so she is learning not to be.
I think that my buggy problem is solved. I am now in love with the Baby Jogger City Select, which until a few hours ago I had not even heard of! Just look at all the positions that you can put it in in the pic on the left!
I like the look of that csws, i don't like the ringing them for a price bit, that makes it sound v. expensive
.
EPPM - ds2 is good thanks. Yes he'll be 8mth old on the 10th March. Not crawling yet but since our little furry visitors (that we think have gone now btw) i've been a bit funny about putting him down on the floor, he won't be long i don't think. He's really strong though and starting to pull himself to standing if he can get hold of something. We're in the middle of putting him to bed awake instead of him going to sleep on me and ending up sleeping with me. Last night (2nd night) he slept in his cot til 4am with just a few wakings and no picking him up. Just gonna take him to bed in a minute so fingers crossed for the same or maybe better tonight.
Work have rung me up today to tell me what my day off will be when i go back so i've worked out that May 15th will be my day off so that weekend is defo ok for me now
Oddly, the price came up on the google shopping search that took me to their page, but I phoned to check anyway! It's £449.95 for the sinlge, and an additional £129.95 for the second seat, which is still cheaper than the i-candy peach blossom.
Oooh I like that Buggy CSWS
even though I don't need one!
Phoneix
yay! party!! (but not too much as CSWS won't be able to drink)
MRM, hope funeral went/is ok (was it today?)
Meh,
my dd2 isn't quite 4 yet! 2 days to go......party next Sun!
dd1 upset this evening, for reasons unknown her good friend has left school today
the school and the kids were only told with about an hours notice, so really hoping its nothing horrible
(know this as teacher told Meri's dh)
Oh no for friz dd friend... pls try and fid out, you've got my curiosity going now. Argh.
csws, trust me, evwn a millionaire really really wouldnt need to spend that much on a buggy. Its just not necessary! Esp as you've got a car, so kids arent in buggy for 100% of their travel time.
Funeral was ok thaks, if thats the right word to use. A very random mix of people that knew herer but didnt know each other. Lots of sunshine. Ds1 was fine, and impressed everyone with his good behahiour. Dh just fancied the minister
(female!!)
Got back and made a start with the pneumatic dril we've borrowed
You know that grrenhouse foundation that we've been trying to shift for 5 years?! Its soooo deep!
All our garden furniture had rotted too
so we got 2 chairs left; cant have friends round in summer lol.
But it seems that it is necessary if the only cheaper alternative is a Phil& Teds (which actually might not do anyway as ds likely to be over the weight for the little seat which I hadn't realised goes on the front whilst the baby is little).
Oh well I say do it CSWS
'I am the evil little gremlin on your spending shoulder'
MRM I did try to find out more today, but no one knows? even teachers are puzzled?
All gone bonkers here, staff on hols, staff ill and then half way through shift today A BABY decided to arrive early! threw the husband out of work at 7pm, so am right in the poo for staff now
Meridian has been an angel, picking kids up from school, keeping them and feeding them and then me too later, I owe her big time! have just finished wrapping dd2's few presents, although I won't be spending much birthday with her now, as have to work late, due to no staff....mum is coming over to look after kids tomorrow....then who knows what the weekend will hold, lots more work and no free time until Sunday by the looks of it, which is when dd2's party is, whew, I'm knackered already!
The doubles seat holds much more than the official weight limit, trust me
friz, people disappear like that all the time here; army kids.
How old will ds be when baby born csws? could you get away with buggy board?
We had that with one of DD1's friends Friz
Oh, and we just postponed DS's birthday until the party day - told everyone that it had been postponed, he knew no different so just assumed that was his birthday
I think the best part of his birthday was when I took him to toys r us on monday tbh - it was just us (well, DD2 was asleep), he got to spend his birthday money and choose things in the magical world that is a toy shop, then I agreed to him having gogos and a ride on one of the car things... kid was in heaven
MRM - went with the nice nap
Was soooooooo tired.
Um, have forgotten what else I was going to reply to.
Argh. First class I've been to in 3 months..cancelled.
Am n9ow going to attempt to clean house before ds2's new friend comes to play tomom, as it looks like a total shithole. How do people manage to keep houses so pristine? Then if any time left I'm going to either WiiFit or get the pneumatic drill going in the garden.
Look at the product testingthread... I'm going to learn how to make smells next wed[ grin]
yay MRM have fun
you made me giggle with your decision, which was it btw? drill or wii?
Me shattered, have just gotten sat down again. Employee is still awaiting babys arrival, things have stopped, nightmare for his wife! not so much fun on the work front either with everyone off, gah
Oh yeah tis dd2's birthday isn't it! she's had a lovely day with gran, has been shopping for a new party dress and shoes (came back with plimsols! with a bow on them) She opened her prezzies with us this morning
I got home just in time to put her to bed
Aww, happy birthday N!
ds will be 20/21 months mrm. I don't think that a buggy board will be enough, esp if I am out with all 3 of them at once and have to keep them all under control!
Yeah, I hink you might be rigt on that one csws. How about getting dd to pusha dolly buggy with ds in it?
Friz, the decision was neither
Spent bloody 3 hours cleaning and only did the downstairs. And still looks like a shithole!
You could always try FLY lady mrm[grn] I am back on there again....
Trying to keep busy today. Mum has breast cancer in is in hospital having surgery today. All the right things have been done and she has caught it early, but still a worrying time.
Fingers crossed for your mum Jas. Mine seems to be fine after her surgery.
Fingers x'd all is ok Jas, Dh's Auntie was treated for it recently and is ok now. {{{Hugs}}} especially for you though.
Yep I think you need that expensive buggy CSWS
I know I'd like that! but then I've always had expensive tastes, maybe I was rich in a previous life?!!
{{{Hugs}}} MRM, house cleaning is so, gah...I have to tackle mine before the horde party guests arrive on sunday! (for the adult party, after the kids party...)
Well we're partied out here
dd2 a very happy bunny, had a lot of fun today with all of her friends (soft play, followed by grandparents at our house) will chuck a photo or two on facebook soon.
how's the rest of you then?
Jas, MIL made a full recovery too; I know thats not much comfort, but law of averages seems to work in favour these days
glad you survived party frizbe!
Just to prewarn you all, I'm not feeling great. I might drop off here for a bit. I dont have a single pair of jeans tthat fit now, i'm back to the same size I was after having ds2
. I dont think I can face a meet up atm. I just want to dosapprear.
But you'd lost loads of weight mrm - what happened? We still loved you when we saw you after having ds2 you know
. And you can stand next to me if it makes you feel better - double bonus with my baby belly!
Thanks for all your thoughts girls.Mum as feeling much better after her surgery, and not looking too far ahead at what is still to come.
I'm going to visit with the dds on Sat though.
mrm. Sorry you are feeling so low again. Are you not getting enough exercise or is it just not helping?
I will be very cross if you don't do the meet up because of your size. Do you really think we only want slim people to talk to???
An evening with us might help you feel a bit brighter.
ds is a disaster at the moment.
Addicted to computer games. I'm getting daily tamtrums as I've severely limited all techno time.
Havent trainmed for couple of months
went to gym yest and couldnt even run 5km
. it was just one illnes afer another, no childcare over xmas, I had that entire body rash too remmeber?
Glad your Mum doing ok
Well that is sort of good news. Much better than training and putting weight on, surely.
Are you getting time to do some training now?
I know with ds at nursery I should have more time free, but it doesn't seem to work that way.
MRM you must come to CSWS's! for a start you sure sound like you need a good night out with the girls! I'm perfectly sure that you'll be getting very fit again soon, (you're one of the most driven people I know!) you've just had a pile of things stopping you doing you stuff,{{{Hugs}}}
Jas, glad to hear mum doing good after the op.
Waves at everyone else, what's happening out there then?
Me - I'm getting dragged into local politics....really don't want to....will explain all in person at CSWS's, as it will probably all be over and sorted by then, hopefully with minimal hassle..had to do a speech thing at business council thing tonight and now have to go to town council thing next week...gah
life would all be a lot simpler if we had a town centre manager......
Jas- hope your mum is continuing to improve.
mrm- sit next to me at csws'- you'll look fine! Have put loads on since going back to work (again)
csws- that buggy looks ace! Love the 16pic thing where you can see all the combinations.
Phoenix- cannot believe DS2 is pulling himself up already
Have you found it goes much quicker the 2nd time round?
Jas- we get a lot of tantrums atm too... seems 4 is worse than 3
well it's a yay from here tonight, I have my replacement washing machine installed
did I mention our last one was caught sparking by dd1 last week
so very grateful she went into the kitchen when she did, or we may well have gone up in smoke.
Eek friz - thank goodness for dd spotting it in time!
Were there any pics of you at the 'do' EPPM?
I ordered the buggy
.
But our car purchase is on hold as dh will be out of work again at the end of this month
.
for buggy CSWS, but
for the work issue...I hope he gets something again soon, I've noticed its rather quiet on the retail front up here this week
Friz- tres scary!
csws- There is a glimpse (well, more a sliver) of my dress in one pic-
I wore a dress!
Sorry to hear about DH though
of course- I presume you need new car now... not too many fit 3 seats across do they? Or were you going up to 7 seater? Is DD's school doable on foot in September?
Our car can fit 4 kids in, as it's 3 rows of two, but we want the 3 of them in a single row to avoid having to take car seats out of the middle row every time to get into the back. We are looking to buy a Land Rover Discovery 3.
lol at the idea of dd's school being walkable! We don't know which school she's got yet, but we're hoping for one 8-9 mins drive away! No school is walkable from here though.
We almost need a new thread btw ladies. Does anyone give a shit what we call it?
How about 'Feb 06: We are all too poor, busy, overweight, worried, or pregnant to care'
sounds perfect mrm
feb 06 we don't give a shit
Feb 06: we only give a shit once a year in real life at csws house.
Have bought big dress and big tights
CSWS - three rows of two sounds heaven. I spend all my time either trying to protect the baby or stop the other two fighting. In my ideal DD1 and DD2 would be together, and DS would be far far away in the back
for DH's job and for MRM's fat.
Things are still a bit floopy here. He has been much happier this week - no idea why. Possibly pretending so I stop hassling him to get ADs
. He has been voluntarily touching me the past few days (you know, every day touching, kissing etc not sex touching - that hasn't been an issue
) He used to a lot, but then completely stopped as I think he was worried I would take it as a declaration of undying love. You don't realise how much you need contact til it stops.
DS is a shit as always
DD2 is following Cake Led Weaning wholeheartedly. Put on 1 1/2 lb in a couple of weeks.
Is floopy a word? I like it!
Spent all day tryin to make the garden look respecrtable yest. Wrong on so amny levels. I feel middle aged now! I shouldve been exercising not chopping undergroth and destroying convcrete. It loks marginally better, but not good still! And now I've got a huge pile of massiver concerete chunks and 16 bags of rubble to get rid of, and can no way afford a skip
. We also have an overflowing green bin and an overflowing normal bin full of shed crap.
Of course its a word. It is an adverb of the verb "to floop". <makes up crap and is fairly sure it wouldn't be an adverb regardless>
I was looking at our garden today thinking "oooh we really need to get this looking nice".
Tis quite worrying really.
Come on, tell me some more Flamewords.
I have to say tho, I am pleased with my shed clearout. Wish I'd taken befoer and after photos
. Now its all arranged in my logic, and you can walk in rather than climb over crap. And we're not keepping pointless things.
Not sure of any other. I seem to use oogly wooglies a lot. Psycho has lots of weird oogly woogly health and allergy stuff.
Bet your shed clearout wasn't as comprehensive as ours was last year
.
at cake led weaning.
Nothing much to report here really, except that I cricked my neck really badly at 5:30am this morning (was having my usual bout of insomnia) and have been in agony ever since.
That would confuse the boys, they love ooglies!
csws, I was tempted, believe me. I also thought a good bush fire would be the best approach to the weeds.
speech assessmrnt today for ds2, wish us luchk. If he speaks ;ike I type, he'll def be put fprward fr therapy!
lol@ the typing in that sentence.
I didn't notice a speech problem with him?? TBH he was def ahead of ds in language last summer.
The lady today agreed that he needs to go for a proper asessmnet; th waiting list is 2-18weeks
and the the hearing test too. Nursery said they prob couldnt get it done any quicker from their end either.
Some of the sounds he cant say are ok till 5 or 6 apparently, others much less so.
ds2 alredy been practising speech exercise withhim
Mrm - Your post made me remember to ring about Lewis' speech therapy. He went for an appointment in October and they said he needed to go on the waiting list for clinic but we still haven't heard so i wanted to check. They said it seems like a long time but it really isn't and they would contact me again if they can tell me anything more because only receptionist was in today. So we're in for more waiting for god knows how long.
You guys should move here. For some reason there is no wait for speech therapy here
DS was seen very quickly after the HV referred him and the other boys I know who have actually needed to go for longer didn't seem to have to wait, either.
I'm a bit wobbly at the moment.....mums cancer is worse than initially thought, and although she should be ok, she is going to need chemo as well as everything else.
Jas, sending you lots of positive getting mum better vibes and a {{{{Big Hug}}}} plus virtual cake (as you're the cake making queen around here, anything I attempted to really send you would end up a) crushed and b) not as good as yours!
)
CSWS, Flame said what I was thinking there! you two need to swap cars! sorry to hear about your neck....trapped and cricked things are never nice
Flame, yay for dh behaving in a more civilised manner.
MRM can you advertise your rubble as 'Free hardcore' that way someone who needs to fill a hole/driveway, may well be round in a flash! That wait is a bit long for the therapy eh.....I'm hoping its sooner rather than later for you.
EPPM is that photo on facebook, pootles off for a look....
Waves at Phoenix! hello!
Sorry not been on for a while, upto eyeballs in work and local council bickering matters
plus the usual running around sorting the family out stuff!
Oh no Jas. I have no useful words of advice, but you know you have my sympathy, and I'm keeping fingers crossed for your mum etc etc. I vcany imagine wat practical help i could be, but you know yuou only have to ask. Although if we call came and moved in with you, I might get ds seen quicker
ds2's palydate has fallen through for tdao, which i donr mind, except I was on a rill woth he decorating.I can face letting him glass. He's v good at rolleringemulsion tho, and hge made me a coffee
Jas
