You're welcome to start threads, Wilks, but get the blooming apostrophes right! (Yeah, like I've never made typos on a thread!) Anyway, sorry you're feeling low. Here, have a tub of Hagen Das - catch!

Well ds2 had his weigh-in today and has put on less than 2oz despite me ramming my tits in his gob every five minutes. So in the last month, with his previous weight loss, that means he's gained less than an ounce all month . Randomly got ds1 weighed and measured too - he's over 3ft and over 2 and a half stone! I think it's time I stopped being a proud, stubborn, pompous idiot and just started solids. Think I'll do it tomorrow. Now what will I give as a first food - maltesers? Angel delight? Bailey's cheesecake?? Actually, since dh did the last shop-in, it'll be carrots since there's bugger all else left. The man has no idea how to do a week's shop!

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 25/07/2007 14:32

WOW 2H, your ds1 weighs more(and prob taller) then my ds3 and he'll be 4 in sept!

how much does ds2 weigh?

ds3 has always been weeny, and if it makes you feel any better(or worse) solids didn't make ajot of differnece to his slow weight gain.

2Happy · 25/07/2007 14:41

Wow! He is quite big, ds1, isn't he?! It's a shame, people think he is older than he is. Some scrotey shite at a farm park yesterday slapped ds1 on the face because he didn't move out of the way on a sit-on tractor - he doesn't know how to pedal yet.

ds2 is 16lb1oz. ds1 weighed that when he was fifteen weeks.

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 25/07/2007 14:46

shall I tell you a little trick I did when ds4 suddenly slowed right down with his weiht?

I added a tiny bit of unslted butter to every bowl of food he had (ok so you'll have tp be weaning but YKWIM). He put on 12 oz in 6 days.

It was a tiny bit too. imagine the size of a rubber atthe end of a pencil....well it was about that much, probably a bit less.

Report
2Happy · 25/07/2007 14:53

That's a good idea - I could do his carrots with butter tomorrow! Nom nom

TBH I think it's probably a good thing I'm going back to work (a week on monday, sob!) - I work on a wedsnesdy so just won't be able to get him weighed! Problem (sort of) solved!!

2HAPPY hattie is almost a month older than your ds2 and shes 16lb as well (I know girls weigh less but thought be usefu comaprason) also shes only put on small amounts in last month or so. Ellie is almost 3 (if she lives to see it ) and shes 2.4ft and weighhs 29lb so similar to your ds1

Wilkie-anything I can do to help?? Do you need some Freddies posting???????

Well went to a huge Tescos about half an hour drive away todsay and picked up loads of bargains in toy section thats Ellie completley finished for xmas (got v.cute tinkerbell dressing up set for £6!!) and got Hattie some stocking fillers (toy drum/tamborine/bells etc all reduced to 99p each) I am going to be so stuck what to get her for her birthday I think we have every girlie toy that exists

EAH - thanks mate, I'm fine just having a downer ATM. Got a review of my tablets in a month so will speak to the GP then. It's horrible, just a wave of 'doom' over me that I can't shift. It will pass in a few days but I hate it - especially when there is no real reason for it.

2Happy - how come you haven't weaned yet? (genuine question not an accusation). JJ is such a little porker I dread to think how much he weighs. Remember last week I asked if it was normal for them to stop eating so much at each meal when they are on three meals a day. Well, he must have been reading over my shoulder cos he has turned into such a trougher. Today for example, he has had:

Breakfast: Full weetabix with 6oz whole milk and a fruit pot
Lunch: 5 lge cubes Courgette Gratin, fruit pot, custard pot
Tea: 6 (!) cubes braised steak, bread and butter and 2 yoghurts.

FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This boy is taking after his father.

Hello all.
Well Pippa's been a little grouch today. Really really clingy and a bit sleepy. Wondering if she's a little under the weather - normal temperature but wondering if it may be time to crack open the Calpol. I am enjoying these bonus cuddles though

Thanks for the new thread Wilkie. Hope you're feeling a bit perkier after that tub of Hagan Das (sp?) from 2Happy and Freddo from EaH!
LTH I presume it's habit we get a new thread when we reach 500. NEver really thought about it. But it looks good thst we're up to part 14

Got lo weighed today too - is Wednesday the day for weighing in? A massive 19lb 7oz. Had a different HV today and pursuaded her to measure Pippa's heght and she's 71cm. So almost 91st percentile for weight, and over 91st for length. Big bruiser but at least in proportion. But 2H, I've got to agree with LTH and EaH in that if your lo is well and happy, then their weight doesn't really matter. Someone has got to be light to balance out the porkers like Pippa

Hope your meeting went ok today Vino.

Lizz a 4 week period?? That does not sound like fun. Think I need a cake to sympathise with you.

So sorry to hear about your BF's mum Wilks.
My BF's mum died about 7 years ago, and she is only really dealing with it now. Very very sad. Her Dad has just had a cancer scare too. It really makes you appreciate having healthy parents who are still with you. Sending big hugs. x

2Happy - someone slapped your ds1?? in the face? i would've killed them! is he ok?

Wilkie - thanks for the new thread, loving the title. think 2H hasn't weaned yet cause he ds is the youngest on here! he's only just 5mo, isn't he? i've only just started half-heartedly weaning Zac, though he did nick a chip off my plate this lunchtime. he was very pleased with himself. actually, the only food he really likes is food he nicks off me!

So sorry about your friend's mum Wilkie Life feels so unfair sometimes doesn't it. Just remember the shitty feelings will pass.

I haven't had F weighed for months Praps I should... people always say he looks big. He was long when he was born and probably still is, but I reckon he looks in proportion.

Lizz i actually don't think 1 bun a day is that bad at all. Thats just normal isn't it??? () Also, speaking of periods.... (hope gyno sorts you out!) i sort of have the opposite problem to you. Well, its obviously not really a problem, but it is wierd. The last 2 months my periods have been almost non-existent. I'm on the pill and so have regular periods which have always been kind of medium flow (sorry TMI!) and about 5 days. But recently they've been 1-2 days and so light i can't even wear a tampon! I'm really not complaining.... but just wondering if i should be concerned about the change? Anyone think this could possibily be a bad thing??

When ds3 was little another little boy kicked him in the head. Ds3 had crawled behind him on the slide at playgroup, little boy lokked behind him and promtly started kicking tiny ds3.
Ds3 was about 14 months old, the boy was about 2.5-3yrs old.

I went balistic!

The whole room went silent as I grabbed the boy off the slide and told him off.

He was banned after that. It was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak....

2H, I know ^excactly how you felt m'dear.

LadyTophamSortingHatt · 25/07/2007 21:38

Boy was banned, not ds3!

He'd been terrorising playgroups for weeks. He'd bitten one little girl so hard on the face that she had a whooping great bruise that showed every tooth mark.

Pleasent little fecker he was.

Sorry to hear that, Wilkie. Jon's mum died of cancer 18 months ago, it's awful isn't it. She was ill a long time with that but my friends mum who I lived with as a teenager died within weeks of finding out. It was a great shock to them too. It sounds like she's got a good friend in you though.

F likes to grab what I'm eating too. He loves his highchair and looks very pleased with himself sitting with us. Tonight he had corn on the cob, cucumber and lettuce, then pear puree so we're a bit on the fence with weaning I think.

What was the mother's reaction, LTH? There's been a thread to day about this sort of thing.

Wilkie - sorry to hear this, it certainly makes you appreciate your mum (for all her faults ). Your lo eats loads! I get pleased if my lo eats 3 spoons of anything!

2H - not had lo weighed for a few weeks. Think I must as she is so uninterested in weaning and with this milk allergy thing have to re-think what to give her. at your poor ds being hit

Took lo to gp this morning and she needs to be referred to paediatrician - told not to stop breastfeeding and avoid cows milk in mean time. Need to start expressing as I'm back to work in 6 weeks and going to hospital for small op in 3 weeks! Panic starting to set in now

Went sales shopping today with all 3 dc. Needless to say got next to nothing. Got all their uniform at last (why does it get sold out by the beginning of the hols when there's still 6 more weeks for them to grow?[hmm})

Need to get packing as maybe going away tomorrow for 10 days, dh due home in 20 mins and I've not even started!

She apologised MrsC. The little boy was well known for his behaviour so we all used to watch out for him.

She'd been chatting across the other side of the hall and wasn't taking any notice of him.

I've not had a period at all since giving birth. Was on cerazette pill for a couple of months but stopped now cos I want a period to know everything is working ok and feel I've been on the pill too long IYKWIM.

Wilkie - sorry to hear your sad news. can't have been great anytime esp today when you were feeling low anyway

Meeting at work went refreshingly well. I'm able to do the hours I want and what I'll be doing is ok. Ellen went to nursery 10-1 and ate all her lunch plus was happy all the time. I gave her a bug hug when I picked her up then we went to next and sainsburys. Bought some pound a pop t-shirts in next sale for her, tried on 2 dresses for me and neither suited me so saved pennies there.

EAH - I cannot believe you've done your xmas shopping for the girsl already. I know you are organised but that is amazing!!!

Canmummy - I always find owlcotes m&s is short of the sizes I want. The food section is yummy though.

Rgee - am impressed you maanged to get pippa measured. I'm going to get Ellen weighed tomnorrow.

Gosh this is a late post for me. Bedtime calling...

LTH I would have loved to hear you tell that naughty boy off
