I must say 2happy that I am to bloody tierd to trim, shave, pluck etc so hadn't even thought about the fact that I can! Although I did have my hair coloured dark red yesterday from being blonde!! Cause I can! And now feeling a little more refreshed..that is untill it needs washing and blowdrying again..

Well Jessd, I nearly didn't have to worry about one of them: when the mw was shaving me, the anaesthetist chose that very moment to decide I was too far down the bed and started to hoik me upwards... only the mw's very fast reactions stopped me from having a kind of reverse brazilian landing strip kind of shave!!

Maybe I should make next week a gardening week - time to shave legs, have my hair cut (on top!) and doing something about the ladygarden. Too embarrassed to get legs and BL waxed as they are out of control. It would be a sign that I actually care !

PS DD seems to sleep a lot - I know I should n't complain - saying that when she is awake - she really objects to being put down. I had to just let her scream today while I hung the washing out and then loaded the buggy into the car. She wants to be held all the time - at 5 weeks she weights 11lbs 11oz and that weight combined with my massive norks is killing my upper back. I'm looking forward to seeing her kick happily under the play gym - pleeeeease!

lol gallum! I thought i was being silly when dh suggested going for a waxing appointment when i had my hair (on head) done and I said I was to embarrassed! My lady garden is completley out of control..I think it is bind weed and weaving itself into my leg hair! I need to invest in some seriously good razors! Dh did offer to do it all for me, but I will probably end up bald! Quite liking the fact that it's helping him refrain from sex at the mo!

Nancy has been crying for most of the day today, bloody nightmare. And now that I want to bath her and get her fed and settled for the evening, so I can eat and watch ice dancing, the little minx has decided to crash out!! I have also got my 7yr old nephew staying for a sleepover with dd1 tonight, so they will all probably kick off just as I want to chill out....

Ummm, I think I'm a weirdo because I seem to operate better with less sleep than I do with loads.

I'm getting 5-6 hours sleep per night(in bed) and I feel Ok, have done for ages. I do all the night feeds, even when DH offers I still do them. I usually fall asleep on the sofa at about 9pm, DH wakes me up to go to bed around 10:30 then Ds4 has a bottle anytime between 11pm -1am. He'll wake again 3-4 hours later and after that we're up for the day at around 6:30am.

On the rare occasion we have slept later than 6:30ish and the night feed have been quick I've felt like shite in the morning.

I feel quite normal now....probably look like shit though

Hope the boob is feel better Lizzz. Are you still expressing? I'm selling my mini electric pump(it's the medela one from boots) so if you want one and to save a few ££££'s give me a shout.

Wilkie, I remeber feeling like you're feeling when I had DS1. It's such a shock to the system when you think the baby is going to do X,Y,Z when in fact they do A,B,C all day. I thought I was so smart and thought I knew it all because my sister still lived at home when she had her baby. I knew bugger all when it came to my own baby though...hard work isn't it??
Luckily for me I've got 3 little helpers to enthertain and put the dummy back in when I'm up to my eyes in other stuff. These kids come in useful as the get bigger

I went to asda and matalan today too and bought jeans(bigger than usual too)...and a top and underwear and stuff for Ds4. A shopping trip for just a pair jeans turned into quite an expedition, much to DH horror

Great minds think alike LTH - Asda and Matalan......I remember the days when it was FCUK and Karen Millen (sigh), too expensive now but have my little bubba instead

LOL at title - I decided to attack the forest that was my pubes last night. Discovered the TV remote and some loose change in amongst the brambles. Scary looking in the mirror at 'the cavern' that was my nice neat fanjo - seriously, DH is going to need a tunnelling hat with lamp, hobnail boots and a guide rope when he next ventures down there. I can see it now....three days later and DH still hasn't emerged I'll be tugging on the guide rope and calling 'Is there anybody in there...???'

Made out our Will today - how old do we feel?????

Hi - Boob is nearly better thanks for asking! However, had huge engorgement due to over expressing yesterday...and OMG...from right boob, get this, a whopping 9oz of milk! I swear I thought my boob was going to explode! Think I am more or less back to normal now though.

Cooped up - getting out of the house before 10am is a huge feat. I dont manage that at all. Its all I can do to actually have a shower, breakfast and get dressed before that time!
LTH - how much are you selling your medala pump for? I have a medala mini electic too, but the lead is a bit f**ked so I have to use both hands to keep it in place which is a bit of a kerfuffle. Have a boots handpump too, but not too sure about it. Thought I could use it in the car, on long journeys?!?! (like you do!)
Wilkie & LTH, I do presume you are referring to retail outlets Aasdaah and Matt Alan. Almost as high end as my favourite, Primarche aka - Primarni. I am very lucky as there is a George @ Asda shop near home, its fab! x

Oh I wish I was getting 6 hours sleep a night, I was gettinng that in pregnancy as I couldn't sleep and was up constantly for the loo but now I get about 4 hours a night if I'm lucky. Today Ethan has been feeding most of the day and evening and has cried every time we've tried to put him down. I don't mind so much really but it does get tiring. He also loves staying awake from 3-5am and the dd and ds1 get up at 6, he also tends to be awake in the evening and get to sleep around midight - 1am. Hoping to get to bed in a few mins as dh is standing up holding him, only way he's stays asleep now!

I'm expecting a 3am feed and then we stay awake half hour to an hour and then start feeding at 5-6 ish. Hoping he stays asleep when we go to bed in a min.

Well I've been up since 4am, he slep from when I went to bed until then ad then fed again. Been up since then and he's now asleep on my shoulder. When I put him down he wakes up! Expecting other kids up soon so told dh to get some sleep and I'll go back to bed about 9ish. Knackered

Lizzz, I used my hand pump in the car too, Just wore a poncho so I didn't cause and traffic accidents and pumped away

I'm selling it for £35( I paid £54 for it in Boots, Ithink it is cheaper in mothercare though) as obviously it's almost brand new, I used the hand pump more than the electric one because the noise of the motor it drove me insane. If you wanted it, maybe we could meet up in Brighton? Would save postage and it getting smashed up by the delivery driver.

Anyway, let me know....

Bonjour. Just had to post a rant!! My lovely (but v old...) neighbours just turned up at my door. Picture the scene - I have literally just sat down with a bowl of soup, turned the laptop on, Jacob is in his bouncy chair finally settling after three hours of screaming and they knock at the door.

Them: 'Is it a good time for us to see Jacob?'
Me: 'Erm, actually I have just sat down with my lunch and he is just going off for a sleep...'
Them: (walking in my front door past me!!) 'Don't you worry, we don't mind you eating your lunch...' (gee thanks!)
I sit back down (v cross) and continue rocking the bouncy chair with my foot.
Them: 'Can we turn the chair round to see him...?' (at the same time as twisting the chair which wakes J up and they pull the top muscial bar off!!!!!!!!)
Jacob: 'Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!'
Them: Oh dear, he's a bit grumpy (!!!). Can I hold him?'
Me: 'No sorry, I'm trying to get him settled...'
Jacob: 'Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!'
I pick him up and rock him and he calms down a bit. Soup is going cold in bowl on the floor!!
Them: Shall I hold him while you eat your lunch?'
Me 'No thank you, he'll be OK in a minute'
Them: 'Is this a bad time?'
Me: (rather curtly)'It is a bit yes'
They then spend 10 minutes telling me about their decorator, two more requests to hold him and then they finally take the hint and leave (promising to come back another time - oh yey!!!!). They also offered to have him for me if I want to go out at all (they're 90 and 86) .

FFS!!!!!!!!! I am so cross!!! What is it with old people? Sorry to ramble on!

Hi All.
God I've just had the shi**iest 3 days in the world. It's ended up with me finally bringing out the formula - the first two feeds I was crying my eyes out feeling so guilty and a total failure. My nips and boobs kill - my nips are bright pink. Today, she ate from left boob for 40 mins, followed by right boob for 30 mins, followed by 4oz of formula. Is there actually anything in my boobs? I've never leaked, felt engorgement, and my three times expressing produced 1oz after eternity. I feel so crap.
She's seven weeks old today and only weighs 8b 3oz (at last weigh in on Wednesday).

You poor thing RGee. Don't feel guilty about the formula. Thats just your new mother hormones (had this conversation with my sister today), they are berating you, but you flipping tried everything else. I sympathasise with the sore nips and boobs big time. I am seriously not sure I can handle doing this BF thing for 6 months. Its exhausting, and I am sure my soreness & tenderness is getting worse)
LTH - Yes I live near Brighton (Hove actually!) am DESPERATE to move to Eastbourne where we could actually afford a house rather than rent a shi**y flat. Think I will pass on the breast pump. Like I said, I have 2 already, and any more could be taking my obsession to a new level - I love the feeling of empty tits!
Wilkie - did you old neighbours bring presents? I dont mind people so much if they bring presents...but saying that I've had no one pop round. Couldn't be doing with that! x

Also, can I just ask everyone about their chocolate consumption at the moment. I originally thought it was just an end of pregnancy craving when I was stuffing cadburys down my neck everyday, but its continued and if anything may have got worse. I cant stop eating chocolate, cake, sweets, biscuits pie, ice cream...anything really sugary. I've never had a really sweet tooth and am not sure if this is just a normal post partum thing or not!

Another nightmare of a night last night : DH had to be up for work at 11pm so he went to bed at 6pm....I fed Ben at 11pm and stayed up with him until 12:15am...so far so good. Put him in his moses basket and was really hoping he would go through until 4am at the earliest. How wrong could I be? He woke up at 2am and wouldn't settle at all until 4am (wasn't hungry, just very wittery). So I got back in bed only for him to decide at 4:30am he was hungry after all....so I fed him and it was 6am before I got back into bed again, but only minutes later he started wittering again so I ended up with him laid on my chest in bed again.....he wanted feeding again at 8am and didn't settle until DH came home at 1pm - he took him out for a walk and I went to bed!

I've told DH he's not doing anymore nights overtime until Ben's sleeping through. He says we need the money, I say I need my sleep! I'M EXHAUSTED AND FED UP. THIS WASN'T WHAT I DREAMED OF FOR 9 BLOODY MONTHS

Sorry to be on a downer, will feel better when (if) I get some decent sleep again.

Ohhhh If I could tweak Ds4's sleeping pattern a bit......
He always goes for his longest stretch between his dinner time feed and late night/early morning. Last night he slept from about 7:30pm to 1:30am, he had his milk at 6:30 though so 7 hours between feeds!!!
He then woke at 4am but just for a bit of a fidget, and woke again at 5:30am for milk.

Ds1+2 both slept through at about 7-8 weeks so I might have another good sleeper this time too. Ds3 didn't sleep through until 15 month so I won't mention him

We're getting lots of smiles now, I thought we had some last week but wasn't 100% sure but theres no doubt now. Bless him, he gets lovely "smiley eyes" when he grins, Awwwww it make me heart feel like its going to burst. We haven't caught a full "smiley eyes" smile on camera yet which is really annoying, the poor child is sick of having the camera in his face.

The older Ds's are back to school tomorrow, thank the lord, so I'll get some peace and quiet for a few hours....Hoooo-Rah!!!

Sorry to hear about everyones hard nights, mastitus and stuff....I think I'm having a easy time compared to you all.

Lizz, I think 3 breast pumps could be seen as a little excessive so maybe it's not such a good idea
Anyone else want to grab a cheap medela pump??
